Just a suggestion : Briggi, since I can't hit the gnome and Tish is bleeding out on the floor, do you want to switch places - or maybe tank him together?
The gnome is more dangerous than the kids at the moment, and you're more likely to down him.

Narciso the Sorcerer |

Ok, I am guessing that we won't find Gaedren here. I don't think we want him getting a good report of what went on here. Not much we can do about the gnome unless he comes back, but Yargin we can finish off or capture and the same with the half-orc. But I doubt we're willing to kill the orphans to keep them from reporting (I'm not, and I'm Darth Narciso).
@Ernhild, Could we, however, hand them to the Church of Abadar?

Narciso the Sorcerer |

We probably could hand them to the Church of Abadar, if they're willing to walk there.
Could we leave them unconscious and take them there in a wagon afterwards?

Tisha Nerifaren |

Is anyone else having issues with the map.... If people are having problems, maybe I need to find a different solution.

Narciso the Sorcerer |

I would suggest moving the whole thing to google slides rather than docs; I find the interface is a lot easier for drawing on top of drawings...

Tisha Nerifaren |

Foxy you can also tell me where you want Yarvin, the Crock and Garidian (plus anyone else hiding here) and I can place them on the map/squares for you.
Tisha is currently on the square outside the door
Narico is two squares back from Tisha on the dock
Briggi is 3 squares west of the door on the walkway south of the Pool
Ernhild is one square north of the door (between on the walkway east of the pool.
And yes I was thinking about moving the next map set over to Google Slides for the ability to layer images like you said...
The other option I was considering was roll20 (if everyone has accounts) because I've been meaning to learn the basics of putting maps/Tokens into Roll20 anyway for when my home game can't meet in person.
I'm not used to running PBP maps, so I'm learning as I'm going, and this party seems like it's going to need the tactical maps.

Tisha Nerifaren |

OK, it's total overkill, but since I wanted to learn how to do this anyway, I set up this fight in Roll20 and Google Slides.
Do either of these work better for you all or stick with the document?

Narciso the Sorcerer |

Put it in the middle. It is large and can reach everyone standing on a square next to the water.
Not sure about it reaching everyone - Crocodiles only have a 5' reach despite being large sized.

Tisha Nerifaren |

Given the croc seems to be not moving it must be in the corner and no longer in the middle of the pool. So Hint hint, if Ernhild was to step over 5’ it would set up a flank :)

![]() |

5ft to Ernhild's left, you mean?
Would she have the reach to hit the croc, GM, or do I have to find a way to go down in the pool?

Tisha Nerifaren |

Given this description of the room:
The air in this large room is chilly and stinks of the river, thanks to a huge opening in the floor that drops away to the river shore three feet below
And as the Croc only has a 5’ attack, I assume your 5’ reach should be able to hit it from the walkway.

Loot list:
From Half Orc: potions of cure light wounds (2) - do we go back and Loot?
Lamm is wearing (+1) padded armor, has a (+1) dagger, a mwk hand crossbow with 7 bolts, a brass key and a rusty iron key.
Yagrin wears leather armor, has a dagger, a light crossbow with 10 bolts, a brass key, an iron key, a wand of acid splash (23 charges), a thunderstone and is wearing a garnet amulet (worth 100 gp).
Lamm's Loot:
Ledger - Need Varisian and Lingustics 15 to Translate
a narrow teak cigar case inlaid with tiny bits of jade (worth 25 gp),
a 2-pound gold ingot bearing the Cheliax coat of arms (worth 100 gp),
a miniature gold crown (worth 350 gp),
a fist-sized scrimshaw carving of a kraken with garnets for eyes (worth 200 gp),
a silver ring bearing the inscription “For Emmah—the light in my nights” (worth 150 gp),
a highly realistic and highly scandalous ivory figurine of two entwined succubi (worth 450 gp),
a masterwork shuriken,
an adamantine arrowhead,
a masterwork dagger with a strange blade shaped almost like a key bearing the inscription: “For an inspiration of a father” (worth 750 gp) (Knowledge(history or local) for more),
an abalone-shell holy symbol of Shelyn (worth 300 gp),
a glass tube containing a dose of oil of keen edge,
an obsidian wand of magic missile (23 charges),
a crystalline vial (itself worth 50 gp) containing a dose of silversheen,
and a bejeweled brooch with a broken clasp.
Even to an untrained eye, this brooch is obviously the most valuable object in the entire collection. The circular gold brooch depicts a house drake and an imp coiled around each other in an almost yin-yang pattern. The pseudodragon’s eye is an amethyst, while the imp’s eye is
an emerald. The brooch itself is worth 2,000 gp Know(Nobility for more)
Below all this lies a harrow deck.

You know, I am willing to bet that Yargin's keys aren't the same as Lamm's keys (despite matching materials)...

Tisha Nerifaren |

Anyone have any chance of making the knowlege check with the key dagger thing?
That seems oddly specific for a random treasure.
After we finish with Yarvin, and find if the gnome is hiding someplace we need to take care of the kids and search this place for any other stuff we missed.
And Foxy what is the C on the map. Is that a trap door in the ceiling? (Aka his Yarvin got down here before us?). Is it s as one thing we can easily see on this side or should we ignore it?

Tisha Nerifaren |

Does anyone care what form I do maps from now on?
I find slides easier than docs, but I’m not sure what the rest of you like.
Most of you never even logged into roll20 so I assume that’s not the preferred option.

Tisha Nerifaren |

Foxy, I think you should be GM now. Let me know if you don’t have access.
Just let me know what you want help with as I can upload stuff as needed.

Narciso the Sorcerer |

Well, if ScrubKai is spending too much time in the basement, you can spend your time to update the maps link at the top to the Roll20 link...

Ha…. My family would argue the opposite.
My college age son saw me sitting down last Sunday morning and comes over and says:
“You are actually relaxing? Good for you!”

Ernhild, I was looking to get your input, not accuse you, but I know it wasn't clear.
I know, don't worry, that was just a bit of role-playing! Since Tisha and Ernhild aren't on the best of terms yet, I thought she might take it the wrong way if looked at insistently in a tense moment -especially with no indication of what tone Tisha used :)

Tisha Nerifaren |

Foxy, added a few things out in Roll 20. hopefully you have most of what you need to run this game for a while.

Ok, out of character, what do you all want to do here?
We have some stuff we can sell or if foxy wants to frame it to get rewards for returning it to the owners.
We have the brooch, key and log book we can research.
Plus all our personal stuff (Yagrin in jail plus riots for Briggi, going to temple for Ernhild, Ive got tons of questions for Zellara)
Oh and it might not be a bad idea to rest for the night.
Do we split up and take these things separately, or stay together?
My thoughts: Game play wise it is always better to stick together even though the story really doesn’t have strong reasons to stay together now.
Foxy, I’m thinking long term Tisha will want to set up a locksmith shop to take up her free time when we aren’t adventuring. (Can be just flavor, no mechanical benefits, but could also give the party a home base to work from…) would you have any objection to the party taking zellara’s home and turning it into a home base?

Foxy Quickpaw |

Everything that has a known owner I gave you the knowledge rolls to. For everything else it is in vain to try to return it as no one (especially not me) knows who it belongs to.
I'm fine with setting up shop in Zellara's home. I assume it is her property, so no one is going to come for rent and object to that.
For the staying together someone could have doubts that they get a proper share of the loot and insist to go to a pawnshop to sell it off and share the coins once it is clear what the stuff is really worth. As no one seems to be able to make the one roll, that would set you all on track again, because the broker for sure knows.
