Tristan continues to shoot red.
Distracted, he doesn't notice the wisp of magic that goes straight at Ulvard. Guidance He can feels a burst of energy!

Red goes down after Eldryon's first strike ((you may have your last action back))
With Red down, Tristan fires at Green and crits on the first arrow (Green: -10)
Ulvard |
Ulvard glares at the man who dared to Strike At Ulvard and roars!
As he does so, surely it is just an illusion, but it looks like skulls run up and down the blade.

And that is basically combat over as Ulvard literally annihilates the enemy next to him. Searching the bodies reveals that one of them was carrying two lesser potion of retaliation and 26 gp. The potions appear to be in flux.
Shortly after the fight ends, there is banging from the other side of the locked door into A3. The door locking mechanism has been broken and it will take three Thievery checks to open or an Athletics check to bust it down.
Ulvard |
Ulvard nods to himself. "Respect. It's important."
Then with a big cheesy grin he turns to his companions. "See! This is why everyone has heard of Ulvard!"
Eldryon Spearheaven |
You've been raised right Ulvard. Says Eldryion before she starts trying to open the broken mechanism.

Voron Keyphyra |
Well, I've certainly heard of Ulvard now. I won't forget soon!
Eddie 'Bo' Leetus |
"Hrm, its over already?" Eddie pushes the cracked door open and shuffles into the main room. They go over to check on the most intact looking pillager, hoping to keep them from becoming compost just yet, repeating with each downed person. Stabilize spell
Eddie pulls out a bundle of dried mushrooms and mosses tied together, shaking them over each body "Fungal spirits, keep this one intact for a bit longer, you can consume them soon enough!"
Ulvard |
Ulvard nods to himself. Satisfied. He does look a bit puzzled at the actions of Eddie, but then... Eddie is a mushroom. What can you expect?
The Big Man takes a moment to clean his sword, likely on the green shirt of his first victim. Those looking closely may note that the sudden burst of excitement has slightly winded Ulvard. Perhaps he is not quite as fit as he likes to make out.
phaeton_nz |
Only one of those thievery checks is successful.
Eddie 'Bo' Leetus |
Athletics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Eddie pulls on the door handle with no success. "Maybe someone else can push this open? It may take me a while."
Ulvard |
After resting for a moment with a look of amusement on his face, Ulvard stands and stretches.
"Ulvard has kind manner. Many things that are Closed to others, Open to Ulvard."
He approaches the door and leans his massive frame against it.

Should I batter the door with spells?
Eldryon Spearheaven |
Let me finish, I just need a few more time.

Thievery: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Thievery: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Eldryon continues to try.
Eddie 'Bo' Leetus |
"Hrm, I could soak the door with water and release spores onto it. The fungus would slowly eat the wood fibers and destroy it." Eddie offers an alternative that could take months or even years.
phaeton_nz |
Eldryon finally gets the door open. An the other side is a humanoid female who almost looks like a willow dryad. ((see slides)) She is tired from her ordeal with the robbers but glad to see friendly faces. She also has some visible injuries from being attacked.
Voron Keyphyra |
Be careful Tristan... let me help!
Medicine: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
He looks up at the dryad as he begins to tend to her wounds.
Did anything worse happen than these injuries?
phaeton_nz |
No no, other than being roughly handled, pushed and locked in this room. It was SO ... distressing. But thank you, thank you. I ... presume you are Pathfinders?

“Lin Selan, or is it Selan Lin in Avistan? Pathfinder of the 4723 AR cohort, currently active at Woodsedge on a project to locate some elemental portals. And before you guess, no I’m not a dryad. I’m an ardande, an ancestor of mine was a wood genie. Selan says without batting an eye. [I’m a kineticist. Move the elements. Make them into other things or each other. All that exciting stuff.

"Nice to meet you Lin Aelan, I totally understand what you're talking about, I've got the same touch, but fire and stone. So what went wrong that you ended up with those bandits invading this place?"
Ulvard |
Ulvard offers a nod of appreciation to Eddie for his introduction.
"Nothing bad will happen to Selan Lin while Ulvard is around." rumbles the big man.
He does peer closely at her, having never seen anyone quite like her before.
"Does Selan grant wishes?" he asks hopefully.
phaeton_nz |
I was babysitting some wisp familiars for my teachers and coworkers. I had a chronicle to finish writing, so I offered to stay and watch the rascals. Got outsmarted though. The wisps took off for the maze, I ran in after them. I have been looking for the past... five hours or so? A slight shade of despair falls over Selan’s face. Ashasar is never going to let me live this down.
Anyway, I got here just in time to encounter those ruffians. I asked them who they were but I got punched in the gut for it and thrown through the doorway.
Heh. If I could grant wishes I wouldn't be in this mess. Can you please help me find those wisps?
Eddie 'Bo' Leetus |
Eddie wonders what they know about wisps, something they've likely heard of before. Recall Nature +10
"Oh, well, at least they didn't compost you. You're still here to tell us the story." Eddie helps to dust the woman off and straighten their jacket.
"Where are the people that usually walk around here to keep an eye on things? You know, the ones with the funny metal hats and long poles with axes on them and stuff? Or does this Lodge not have them?" Eddie refers to the regular, nameless NPC guards they see walking around other places of importance.
phaeton_nz |
Um ... I dunno ,.. Maybe they also went to the party in Absalom?

At first I read this as "help me find those wishes" :P
Voron also tries to think on what he knows about wisps.
Recall knowledge: Nature +8
Do they spend a lot of the time invisible? I fully expect them to be a little tricky.
Eldryon Spearheaven |
Don't worry, I'm a detective. I will help you find these Wisps says confidently Eldryon.
As she recollect what she knows about theses creatures RK Nature +5, she starts gathering clues about them.
Make the wisps the target of my investigation
phaeton_nz |
Oh the wisps are tricksy alright. They’re also mischievous with a capital M. We were afraid they might wreak havoc over at the party. Imagine bringing five baby goblins to a festival, except each wields fire of a different element. Oh, and they fly 200 feet in a minute.
Eddie 'Bo' Leetus |
Eddie listens to the descriptions, eyes going a bit wide "Well, they sound like fun friends to have. We will do our best to find them... but I don't know if we have enough time for 5 hours of searching. We do have a party to get back to.. and more Lodges to visit still." Eddie seems torn.
Ulvard |
"But lodge is not big, like Ulvard! Ulvard has Eyes like Eagle. And Nose like Skunk. No.. Nose like.. umm. ... Bear.. yes, Nose Like Bear. Ulvard is also suspicious of why nasty men in lodge..."
phaeton_nz |
But but but .... OH! ... The trees were kind enough to help us find some elemental portals days ago, at least. They may have gone there. I can't remember where they are exactly but I'll ask the trees again and write down what they say.
phaeton_nz |
When Taiwalei returns with guards he rescued, he lets you know he’s already informed the Grand Lodge of what was going on and that the other
lodges have also been checked on and secured. Learning about the elemental portals, Taiwalei shows an incredible interest and begs you for the chance to explore the area. Selan gladly goes and speaks with the trees (in Muan, the elemental language of wood) and obtains the instructions for three portals. (The trees response are on the slides). She reminds you that the trees’ instruction shouldn’t be taken at face value, as they do like to see people get lost sometimes. She then goes back to Woodsedge Lodge to rest.
Following the instructions provided by Selan, you and Taiwalei set off in search of the elemental portals. The trees of the hedge maze are 15 feet tall and too dense to move through. They can be climbed up to 10 feet before the branches become too weak to hold your weight. Even if you manage to fly up or otherwise gain a birds-eye view, the dense trees obscure which paths connect to each other and which are dead ends.
The paths are all exposed to the sky and thus under bright light, but the paths muffle sound more than normal for a hedge maze. If a straight line between a sound source and receiving point passes through two walls, it cannot be heard.
The main pathway of the hedge maze is a circular path that ultimately comes back to the starting point.
To navigate the Maze to get to a specific location, you need to spend 10 minutes following instructions given to you.
Attempt a Survival check to Sense Direction, a Scouting Lore check, or another skill check which the text specifies can be used in place of Survival.
The PCs have two opportunities to take the Navigate the Maze of the Open Road activity as they explore the main path. One check is used to discover area B3, while the other is used to discover area B4. As the PCs are seeking elemental portals, they can use Arcana and Nature for these Navigate activities. If they want to take a more physical approach, they can also use Acrobatics and Athletics; on a critical failure, however, the PC become sickened 1 for 1 minute for pushing through the maze’s disorientating dimensions.

Were those our two opportunities, or was that per PC?
phaeton_nz |
I think so, although the module isn't clear. Supposed to be per PC I presume but your first two rolls were successes so I guess that will do
Voron Keyphyra |
Voron leans on his staff and looks around at the paths they've discovered so far.
I figure..., our knowledge of nature and the First World are most relevant to perceiving the wisps or traces thereof.
