Istilnar manipulates mystical energy so that the light around him drops to a level of dimness that it makes it hard to see him. dim light He then draws his lens pistol and begins moving toward the beast.

Shadow Shroud:

Shadow Shroud

As a move action, you can spend 1 Resolve Point to shroud yourself in dim light for 1 minute. Darkvision provides no benefit against this gloom, and nonmagical light can’t change this light level. Magical light can change this light level only if from a source with a CR or level higher than yours. You can dismiss this dim light as a move action, and it ends automatically if you lose consciousness.

On the way back, George and Cygpo point out a small cliff, behind which a hot spring emerges. Not only does the corner give a temporary respite from the cold, there are also some rather fine herbs growing here, that would serve a traditional Akitonian recipe rather well!

Look at you, you must be cold! Alora is delighted to see the return of the party You were succesful? Great! With the big piece of meat entering the kitchen, reality dawns on Alora Ooph! I'll need some help with cooking this!

To help, you can make a Profession (baker, chef, or cook) check, or a Culture or Life Science check

Or, if you don't want to cook, you can keep the family out of my hair! Alora says, pointing to the Cembar living room, with the family: pet squoxes that need attention, the young ysoki that could use some distraction with crafts, the adults who desperately need someone new to talk to to stop them from bickering, or the skittermander who are itching to play some vid games

Some possible skill checks include walking the pet squoxes (Life Science or Survival), hosting craft time with the young ysokis (Diplomacy or Engineering), socializing with the adults (Bluff or Diplomacy), and playing games with the skittermanders and ysokis s (Athletics, Bluff, Disguise, or Sleight of Hand).. Any other check you can justify works as well.

CYGPO does not know how to cook. But it seems like that sort of work would be easiest with less people underfoot.

They move into the living room and towards the vidgame console. Little ones they call out I observed you playing Jitters earlier. It is a fun one, but have you seen some of their hidden features? For example, let us enlarge that racer's head to a comically large size.

CYGPO tries to engage the skittermanders sigh and the ysoki children with their racing game. Though the android feels confident they could easily dominate the young ones, they try to take a backseat but adjusting the settings and entering cheat codes for DK-Mode and other fun options.

George 09-23 nods at Alora.

"Sure, I would be happy to help. Perhaps we should cook the meat submersed in a liquid which we can latter refine to use as a gravy. I suggest a red wine as a base for the sauce."

"On the side we can make some fried, grated potatoes fritters and maybe an ice cider to drink with the meal?"

"We can cook some of these fresh herbs with the meat to soften them and perhaps use the rest as a garnish."

George's mouth waters as he imagines the feast that they will create.

Partway through, she gets a text message on her comm unit and she brightens up as she reads it and looks rather happy. I just got invited to a Reunion dinner with a friend I haven't seen since our Academy days. We sorted of parted on a sour note, and I didn't get a change to apologise until a couple of weeks ago and ... well ... she wants to see me again and meet her sister who she recovered from the Scoured Stars. I guess I shouldn't have called her 'obsessive' for wanting her family back.

I usually use the cheap AbdarCorp Cola, not red wine she later says to George. It's all it's good for and it adds a nice malty flavour.

Istilnar loathes interactions between sentient species especially in a party setting, so he decides to walk the squox. I just realized the party is full of androids.

The atmosphere in the house is slowly becoming less tense as the smells from the kitchen become better and better. This might become a nice party after all!

While we wait for Antethriss' roll to come in, could you already roll day job, since we're almost at the festive climax of this scenario!

Time flies as Cygpo and Iseph keep the kids busy, Istilnar goes for a walk with the squox, Solis chats away with the adults.

George spends his time helping out in the kitchen and the scent of roasted Arabuk becomes heavier and heavier. Dinner is served! Alora (proudly) calls out. Already? Bitts calls out Just let us finish the game Flutter says, Yeah, we were having so much fun! Popper adds.

The roasted Arabuk is served on the long dining table, which is surrounded by colorful chairs and set with mismatched porcelain and cutlery.

Alora brings out a roast arabuk, majestic enough to pay tribute to the creature that was hunted for it, packed with apelos stuffing, mashed purple and blue root vegetables, stewed greens, sticky rice, gravy (a George-09-23 special recipe!), and numerous pies. It looks absolutely delicious

Before we start Alora says solemnly let's take a moment to remember those who could be here. Our loved ones, both lost and found. A minute of gracious silence later she says Let's eat! Who wants some Arabuk?!

---
And that, kids, is how I saved Reunion for Alora: by sending a group of capable Starfinders their way. I made sure to greet them when they returned to Absalom Station, I even made sure to wear my special festive holiday sweater, with knitted Arabuks on them. And you see this flower that I'm wearing on my head? It never fades or whithers. It's a flower of celebration, a magical flower from the first world. I gave my Starfinder friend each one of these as well, as a present, so they can share the sparkling spirit of Reunion whenever they want!
