Please complete the Macros Spreadsheet and Google Slides for this adventure.
There is also a letter from Ambrus Valsin in the slides.
Please go to the Gameplay thread, introduce yourselves, and discuss.

I’m here. Out of town for a few more days so I will be brief with posts until Saturday. I also need to double check that JR is up to date. Thanks for running this gm, been looking forward to this pair of scenarios!

![]() |

You've got some muscle, with two rogues, a magus and a summoner. Martin's eidolon is combat oriented. I have GM'd Martin in several previous scenarios, and I haven't dropped them yet (that I remember.)

![]() |

Yes. Martin can cast multiple spells on Mavenee that may increase her AC. But we do share a single pool of HP, so any healing Martin and/or Mavenee receives would be most helpful.

![]() |

Yeah Hui Kong is a magus but he is Level 3 so still somewhat squishy. :)
Still need to update his character sheet. Will do so by tonight.

![]() |

Luz is no frontliner. I can heal out of combat. But I'm not so effective in combat. I can trip a bit and disarm.

![]() |

Alright, updated Hui Kong to L3, and filled in the macros and google slides. Ready to go.
Oh, Hui Kong can also lay on hands with the blessed one archetype.

Feel free to continue character introductions in the Gameplay thread. I'll drop in the start of the scenario in the next couple of days, closer to when Junior Peppers has more availability.
Junior Peppers, don't forget to fill out the Google slides and Macros spreadsheet linked above when you get a chance.

![]() |

@GM, I had posted Luz's stats on the Macros sheet, checked the boxes, and even renamed the sheet. I'm not sure why it didn't go over. Maybe you could verify?

![]() |

@Luz,
The sheet looks good now. There haven't been any rolls recently, so you should be good from here on.

![]() |

I haven't touched the sheet. It was that way before you posted the rolls, hence my asking you to check why the macros didn't work.

![]() |

I'll admit I did it. After I posted about the rolls, I went ahead and found your character sheet and filled in the numbers myself

![]() |

Sorry work got overwhelming then down with the flu. Going to try to catch up now.

Slipp, just checking some things re the summoned fey.
From what I understand, summoned creatures are minions. So the caster needs to spend one action to sustain the spell, for which the minion gets two actions for that round. Does Slipp has some ability to allow the summoned creature to act independently?
Also I believe summoned creatures can’t cast spells of equal or higher level than the spell that summoned it. Noticed though that the Nyktera cast heal in the previous round?

![]() |

That will be my mistake then, this is my first ever summoning.
So, so glare I guess.
Where does it say that summoned creatures can't cast spells of their summoning spells level?
So much to learn about second edition.

![]() |

Hmm.. Well it looks like you get the summoned trait when you are summoned which stops you casting spells your level or higher. So that explains that. Rats, the whole point of that summons spell was to have someone else able to heal.
Think I'll need to swap that out at a future level. <sigh>
On the plus side, it looks like when Nyktera tried to do her heal she would have failed and the summon spell would have ended, so no attack from her this round and no worry about my using too many actions.
And she got a crit too. Dem's the break.

A summoned creature can cast spells of lower level than the spell that summoned it, not the level of the summoned creature. That doesn’t fix that though because RAW a L2 summon fey can only summon L1 creatures, ie can’t summon a nyktera. Still summon fey is good in letting you cast one higher level spell to get back many lower level spells, including cantrips.

I'm not sure about that limitation (bolded)--currently on AoN, the spell lists 0-level fey that can be summoned, and that interpretation would mean that it's impossible to summon them. That is, an L1 summon fey spell will get a fey of level -1 and an L2 summon fey spell will get a fey of level 1--no way to get level 0. The spell also references summon animal, which states explicitly:
Heightening the spell increases the maximum level of creature you can summon.

![]() |

Oh that’s a good point. Agree then that summon spells can be used to summon creatures of lower levels.

![]() |

Hang on, Nyktera is a level -1 (not 1) creature. It is listed as one of the options for a level 1 summon fey spell over at AoN
Or am I missing something else here?

![]() |

The immediate question is whether any of you want to look through the book right now?

I'll be on vacation from 9 to 22 Dec. Will be checking in when I can, but I might miss posts. Will try to leave botting instructions before I go.

Apologies for not posting recently. It has been a busy week in school with Finals approaching.

![]() |

I have to make a significant apology here. I just realized that I applied the wrong CP adjustment to this encounter. This should have been two Bosuns and three Sailors instead of three Bosuns and two Sailors. I have substituted a Deckhand for the green Bosun, and I am going to roll things back through the Green's turn and move on from there.
Once again, my apologies for the error.

![]() |

Seconded.
BTW, we are on slide 6, right? Which figure is the quartermaster?
I can see two solid outlined green and blue figures. Are they deck hands? Where is the third?
I can see two round figures with faint circles around them (black and yellow) Are they the bosuns? There is only one in the tracker but two on the map. Or is one of them Vaggas?
And the four figures at the extreme end? Are they more slaves?

![]() |

You are on slide 6. Hui Kong reduced one of the Saliors/Deckhands to shards, so there are only two left. They are Rectangular icons, one Green and one Blue borders.
The circle icons are the Bosuns. Vaggas is the Northern icon. The icon border is chain. Vaggas icon has a small black border inside of the chain. The other Bosun is to the South with the Yellow ring inside the chain.
The figures who retreated into the room at the other end are the last of the captives. They were doing a bucket brigade bailing out the stairwell down. I have now placed water in the stairwell.

Junior, if Blue survives Luz' turn Nic is planning to flank them with Junior, so if you were going to attack Blue as well wait for me to set up the flank.

![]() |

Re: Jr's first Javelin hits the Black bird. The second javelin barely misses.
Just wanted to make sure you are applying the flat footed -2AC penalty for the bird not yet acting, particularly to the second attack roll of 18.

![]() |

I did indeed. The Bird's normal AC is 21, making the Flat-footed AC 19. I did say barely misses.

Hi guys, I'm back from my vacation! Will jump in when it's Hui Kong's turn.
