Posting up for party assembly, let's see who is headed to Geb!
I have a lv8 elven Gun Chemist whose full name is very very long and whose pbp header hasn't been updated for 6 levels. She's an expert in alchemy and monster identification, and she also love shooting baddies in their face —— Colin
And her son, a lv6 half-elf Arcanist/Wizard who specialized in shadow magics. ————Colin

OK, with this being levels 6-9, I'd either bring a druid with a dino, level 6, or a froggie magus, level 8. Reading the adventure description, I do want to make sure a dino animal companions won't be a big problem.
Animal companions are completely viable in this scenario, no problem.
I have a variety of characters in either tier. Are we looking at low or high tier? We have a 6 or 8 and a 6 or 8 so it could go either way. What do people prefer?
I can do any of the following:
Inquisitor 9
Magus 9
Druid 9
Wizard 9
Alchemist 8
Oracle 9
Mesmerist 8
Psychic 7
Oracle 7
Cleric 7
Warpriest 7
Redelia wrote: OK, with this being levels 6-9 It's actually tier 5-9 scenario, so lv5 character can be used as well.
Besides the Gun Chemist and Shadow Wizard I posted above, I also have a lv5 Lion Shaman Druid with a cat, and a lv5 tiefling Paladin with a griffon. I personally would like to use Elu the gun chemist, since she's the one I had most fun with in PbP. But I am flexible as well.
Hey! I will be happy to take part with a Shifter 6.
I need to check who I could bring but I have several characters available in the range level.
Sounds good, I will get a sign in slide setup in the next couple days.
I'm in. I would need to burn a replay, though.
I would also be burning a replay. Given this is an early season scenario written for 4 players are you planning on running for 4 or 6? If its for 4 I will step aside as I have played it before.
I'm looking to keep this at no more than five, if possible.
Since I've already played this, I'll sit this one out. I have five other games going on anyway.
I'm sorry to hear about Silbeg ;(
Have a good game in his honor.
OK, everyone who has said they want to join has a low level character, but some do not have a high level character, so this is Redelia's character.
So we are going low-tier it seems, unless people want to play out of tier
Sign in slides and the gameplay thread are up! Feel free to have pre-briefing introductions.
Looks like we got a druid and a cleric, then I will bring my shadow Wizard then. Due to multiclass, he is only wizard 5 and have limited amount of spell per day, but he does have some 1st level spell slot.
Redelia has recommended this game to me. Is there still a slot open?
We are still in the briefing, so go ahead and post in gameplay. We are running 5-6 subtier.
Koani wrote: Do we have time to change prepared spells before leaving? It didn't sound like it, but if we did, Koani would prepare a few things that could help heal us.[ooc]
[ooc]also, for the sake of making this clear, I'd rather Koani and Blarg die than infernal healing be used on them.
There is not an hour for spell preparation, as the mission is set to begin immediately. If you have an ability to prepare in less time than that, such as open spell slots that would take 15 minutes, I will allow that as a compromise.
1 person marked this as a favorite.

Yeah, that's what I suspected would be the case.
Koani will then be using her 'standard' spell preparation that is already listed in her profile. If the mission takes longer than a single day, she will adjust the spells to prepare for the second day.
How does Undead Anatomy work on someone who already has those things? Can Blarg keep his better version of everything the spell grants? Do any of these stack with or improve what he already has? (in particular, does the natural armor stack?)
I would rule you take the better of the two. No stacking improvements. The natural armor is two separate bonuses, as it does not call it out as an enhancement bonus like barkskin.
That makes sense; thanks. (It's also about what I would have thought)
Flying home today, we will be on a more regular update schedule next week.

It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly... stupid.”
I mean, we're trying to infiltrate a warring state where the citizens (non-human) treat human as cattles and animals. Foreigner who are nice to "animals" are probably either seem as deviants or human spy.
Kagerou doesn't care enough about this to find water himself, but cares enough to not stopping his teammates from doing so.
There is such a thing as taking care of your livestock, you know. At least that is an easy thing to use as 'cover' or 'an excuse.'
Apologies for the delay, work has been a bit busy. Updates should be coming tomorrow.
Kagerou Rosenthal wrote: Would it be fair for Kagerou to keep his Mage Armor up? If it's only a few miles away from the pen, then it's about 1h of overland travel, and a wand of Mage Armor can easily keep the spell up. If Kagerou would renew the buff each hour of travel, then yes.
I wasn't expecting combat to come so quicly so I thought I will be ok if I post in the evening....Yes Kagerou will keep renewing the Mage Armor
Kagerou Rosenthal wrote: Did a knowledge check of 30 identify the worm creature? Please refer to the spoiler in the first initiative post.
Retracted the latest update, as Kagerou would know that magic missile cannot target a worm that walks due to it not being a singular mass. If you have an alternate readied action in light of that, feel free to post it.
My apology. I was not used to getting monster knowledge in such descriptive mannor. Most of the time (in normal setting with time constraint) we get whatever is on the stat block (numbers omitted sometimes).
I was also not as clear on how I run knowledge checks as I should have been, that’s my bad. I think we should be able to finish this out without too much trouble now.
Coming down with something, may not post for a few days. Please bot as needed; fine to use spells or consumables.
Understood, take care of yourself!
I'm back. Not all better, but better enough. Thanks for botting.
Possible retcon needed. Did Kagerou pick up a wand of inflict light wounds?
If not, please roll healing for one of the potions that were provided to the party as that will cover the first action that restored Nicklod and you can redo the current action.
Oh shot, you are totally right. I forgot that we can't just "heal" ourselves with CLW. Force of habit, sorry.
Inflict MW potion: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (2, 3) + 3 = 8
Since Kagerou still intended to burning hand that worm, I guess he will still move but use his standard for full defense.
He brought infernal healing, which is more suitable for out of combat healing. In combat we have to rely on inflict wound potion.
Internet down at home (the month were I'm daddy at home of course) and my phone is not working well either... my posting is slowed by a lot (to say the least), sorry for that.
No worries, we will soldier on. :)

Here's the relevant rule for drawing out wand during move, just in case people are not familiar with it. Technically it would be "combining drawing out a weapon-like object (wand) action and move action".
Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook p.186 wrote: Draw or Sheathe a Weapon
Drawing a weapon so that you can use it in combat, or putting it away so that you have a free hand, requires a move action. This action also applies to weapon-like objects carried in easy reach, such as wands.
Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook FAQ wrote: Drawing and Sheathing a Weapon-like Object: I know I can draw or sheathe a weapon-like object as a move action using the "Draw or sheathe a weapon" action, but if I have a base attack bonus of +1 or higher, can I draw a weapon-like object with a regular move?
Yes. As shown on the chart on page 183, when you have a BAB of +1 or higher, you are combining the regular draw or sheathe a weapon action (to draw a weapon) with a move action. Thus all rules for draw or sheathe a weapon apply, including the ability to draw a weapon-like object.
I'm sorry, everyone; I'm like a walking zombie right now due to a short, but not worrisome, rough patch in real life. I expect the situation to resolve in the next few days. I'm going to take this weekend off from PbP, and will return to normal posting on Monday. Please bot as needed; using up spells or consumables is fine.
No worries, take care and we will see you when you're back!
