You don't live a boring life, Mr. Cirok.
Sometime we'll into the late morning, a few troglodytes, along with a high ranking guardsman lizard mount were found murdered in the stables of House Vonnarc...
I think we're going to need a battle scene for this (or something like this). I have no doubt that you can kill three troglodytes, but can you do it so that they do not raise the alarm?
I need to think about the situation a bit .)

Soryan Dirge |

My INT is +7 if you'll let me "Craft" some doodles or riddles on some of the paperwork I'm handling as a carrier. Or, if given the chance to have any dialogue, I'll try to take the three minutes to roll a Diplomacy. Anyway, if I can't use Craft on my job I'll just do it with banality.
In any case, I can get back to this Play-by-Post in another week or so. Just a little more patience needed, please.
Craft Riddles, Calligraphy and Such on paperwork: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (15) + 17 = 32
You'll still probably have to bot me for another 1d4+5 days.

We will do similar checks every day, and they carry a certain meaning. Let's just say you gain a reputation inside the house as intelligent servants. And this can affect something (as well as the reputation of clumsy and stupid). Everyone has their own reputation, by the way.
Perception Velath: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27

Cirok Brokencrown |

Cirok isn't exactly reckless. He is extremely calculating.
He suspects that she wants this type of minion for extreme missions.

![]() |

The jig is up, run for your life, find us and we will kill them all. Ha, ha, ha, ha!

![]() |

Cirok, btw I noticed that your escape artist skill in theory could be enough for manacles and for some time I was wondering whether to interrupt the scene to let you decide whether you want to use it or not, but then I noticed that the system tells us that it takes one minute, so in this case - no. Not to the eyes of a torturer who is busy with her business.

![]() |

Just thinking out loud, unrelated to this situation.
Life in a society of chaotically evil demon worshippers who themselves live in an extremely harsh and dangerous world, packed with enemies and monsters and permeated with the energies of Rovagug... Such a life is cruel and dangerous indeed. A fine line runs between the fact that in order to survive in such a place, sometimes you need to be a bloodthirsty beast like them, but at the same time becoming a bloodthirsty beast there is a risk of becoming this beast forever (mechanically, a shift into an evil alignment can turn a PC into a master's NPC). You have to cope with real physical dangers, because death and violence are waiting for you here at every careless step, and at the same time look for a way to cope with the danger to your soul and mind.

I attended a funeral two states away. Travel interrupted my posting. Catching up now.

Soryan Dirge |

So,... I have been absent the past couple weeks doing the Quarterly financial accounts -- but as I understand it, with the day's chores over, our next thing is going back into the city to fight a monster in the gladiatorial arenas. Give Colgrim and them a chance to shine in combat with their character builds, while giving Cirok and me a chance to roleplay with a new contact in the Drow underworld/underground.
Correct?
And we're just awaiting Cirok? Or is there something else?

![]() |

Yes, on the fourth day (tomorrow) it will be possible to fight somewhere in the pits. The rest is up to you. You don't have much time left for today (the third-day), about 4 hours if you want to rest completely, or up to 12 hours if you decide not to rest at all... We can just accept that you are resting and move on to the fourth, which will start again with housework tasks.

Soryan Dirge |

I know the DM was pushing us *all* to fight in the pits. I'm hoping that Cirok and I can roleplay with some NPCs during the combat rounds for our combat-loving Elves (and Mister Dwarf!). Soryan Dirge would certainly push the agenda that he is some kind of 'manager' or 'scout' or 'sponsor' and is present for sitting in the "owners' box" sipping, I dunno, 'Elf Blood' and 'Fey Victuals' while hob-knobbing with the other underworld bosses during the arena fights. Soryan Dirge wants to be known as a behind-the-scenes Drow rather than a gladiator!
But, of course, if the DM or other players feel it's better for us all to fight I will forego my desire to stay *out* of the spotlight in a, yuck, gladiator arena, and stand side by side with my allies, fighting monsters for the Underdark masses.

Cirok Brokencrown |

Cirok will agree with Soryan Dirge after he can talk, walk and pass without needing fayleaf....

Soryan Dirge |

Also, metagame and an unfortunate -- getting to the fighting pits and having Colgrim, Cuthalian and Velath fight without Cirok and Soryan -- might be an opportunity in-game to explain if Velath is gone from the game.
Our illustrious Paladin, Velath Tel'Quessir, has not posted in over a month, and even before that it was only once a week. Falling in an arena combat may be a, admittedly metagame and unfortunate, blessing in disguise.
Of course it's 100% the DM's discretion and decision if indeed Velath isn't coming back.

![]() |

About Velath - I wrote him a message recently. He replied that he was coming out of the hospital and would soon return to the game. I hope that it will be so!
As for the pits, I'm not insisting on anything, I was just worried so that the others wouldn't get bored. But if you want to, then we will do as you say.

![]() |

I should have read discussion first. If we have another rest before going to the pits I will gladly heal at least some of Cirok's ability damage.

![]() |

A little explanation. During housework, especially in cases of complex scenes that I describe in detail, other skills can be applied - if you justify it.

![]() |

I think we need a replacement player. We haven't gone too far yet, and replacing Velath with another elf won't be something critical. It's just that this elf was somewhat depressed from the transformation and kept mostly silent. And now he's starting to wake up.
I will look for players among my friends (similarly, if you have a good player in mind, feel free to call), and if I don't find player in a couple of days, I will make a post in a recruitment thread. If you have any other thoughts on this matter, I will be glad to read them .)
You can still think about preparing for the fight in the pits and so on, and I would like to have the fight with a new player already.

![]() |

Hey! The long flight knocked me out for a day (I hoped it wouldn't happen), but I'm back in business. Yes, you will get a priest of bright light .)

Phantom Genius, first of all, I welcome you and hope you enjoy this game. Thank you for your interest and attention, I appreciate it!
Secondly, by the way you enter the game. We mean that you have been with the team all this time, including the ritual, the passage through the portal, the ghonhatine fight, and so on. It's just that you didn't draw attention to yourself and didn't use very noticeable abilities, like daylight, which you will probably demonstrate in the future.
I would like you to post in the game thread with the following:
- Describe yourself at the feast at the Crying Leaf on the occasion of the victory in Celwynvian. Appearance, speech, manners. Of course, the appearance will change soon, but we all want to know what you were like before the transformation.
- Describe your feelings during the ritual. How did you feel when you realized what was coming and saw the bodies on the mattresses? And after the dead drow flesh was pulled over you… How you reacted?
- Your behavior and impression at the first meeting with the drow at the portal.
- Your reaction to Zirnakaynin and what you see in it.
This is quite a lot, I understand - but I think it will help us with diving into this dark adventure. Welcome to the Endless Night!

Soryan Dirge |

If y'all want to go full forward in Gameplay, of course, Soryan Dirge will post. But I would like a post from the DM, I'm not sure, 'something' about this transition. I know it's not really a transition for the PCs, but it is kinda for us. Again, if y'all just want to go forward that's okay too.

Terzarin Lightbringer |

If I may, I will start with the Crying Leaf and the ritual in my first post and then continue reading and writing. Since it's way out of sync with everyone else's timing, I'll put it here and copy and paste it into Gameplay if instructed.
<edit>
Oh boy, I can't get myth-weavers to open. Anyone else having trouble? I will try rebooting, but this first post will be role-playing only.

Terzarin Lightbringer |

Terzarin reveled in the victory and in the victory celebration. This was the pinnacle! The triumph of light over darkness and every foul entity that fed the darkness! This was the most glorious day of his entire existence (or at least in this incarnation. He couldn't currently remember any past lives.) He had used every ounce of his healing magic to comfort and treat the wounded and was ready to relax and celebrate. Wanting to clap every hero on the shoulder and congratulate them on their bravery, he found he was too exhausted to reach them all. He really wanted to meet that dwarf, though. What an incredible fellow! Maybe after he rested a bit...
Stirred back to alertness by the sudden departure, he followed the group stoically back to Celwynvian. He was quietly thrilled to be chosen and swore to himself that he would be a great and heroic warrior for the light. "Spy" made no sense. How could a living lantern spy on the drow? Terzarin chose not to ask that question and certainly didn't like the eventual answer. The transformation was as unnerving as anything he could imagine. He cringed when he looked at the others and failed to find any comfort in the illusion. How could this possibly work? Surely they would be discovered and have to fight their way out. But that's what heroes do...

Soryan Dirge |

Terzarin... really wanted to meet that dwarf, though. What an incredible fellow! Maybe after he rested a bit...
.
Hey!
What about the rest of us?!
And as far as the Dwa'orf goes, you know those people don't even bathe, right?!
;)

![]() |

There will be no special posts about the transition from me. We just pretend that Terzarin was with us all this time (btw, what a good name, huh, sounds very drow), and there was no Velath.
For the old group, I will say that if we had gone much further, I would not have done so (and in general, most likely, I would not have looked for a replacement - there would simply be fewer of us). But now it works in my opinion - Velath has hardly participated in the last couple of months, and such 'straight' replacement does not look like ruining history or the atmosphere of adventure (for me anyway).

![]() |

Terzarin, I will ask you to fill out a profile as done with your other characters + sidebar. If you find time to interact retrospectively with other characters in the gameplay thread, that would be great. The beauty of PbP is that we can do it even in parallel with the main events. The main thing is to indicate at the beginning of the post, this is happening now or some days ago.

![]() |

Sounds good.

![]() |

Terzarin, I would also be happy to see your spell sheet. The fact is that the Сirok is quite noticeably damaged and has a penalty in a bunch of characteristics. In general, you could heal some yesterday when he got ability damage (if you usually have lesser restoration), and for today you can remember the right amount of lesser restoration to remove / try to remove all the remain damage.
I'll probably write all the current damage (this is taking into account the night rest and the Cuthalian's spell): -2 strength and constitution, -1 dexterity & sickened condition until this damage removed.
I don't like such a direct metagame in RL table, but in PbP it will simply be faster than I will write posts "not enough, more healing is needed" several times ))

Soryan Dirge |

Not only is the metagame from the DM okay with me in general for simply being faster, but in this case I had no idea Cirok was still injured. It's just been so long in real life that it took me a couple seconds to even remember HOW Cirok got injured in the first place. And I'm never gonna have the time to look at anyone else's character sheet or current status.
I have a Happy Stick with 48 charges remaining.
It is available for everyone.

![]() |

I have met different opinions, but let's agree right away that on my game, in the case of a miss chance (and any percentage), more is always better .)
