Yellow X's mean that they have been hurt, likely bloodied.
Cool, I put Borak back where I had him, he's using a reach weapon so he couldn't strike magenta from 5 ft and I want him nearer to yellow so he can 'study' it as his move action and then attack.
Børak |
I don't quite understand the sizing on the zerglings. If mangenta was alive and threatened an AoO, Borak would have killed it from the doorway, then moved. Either way, attack then move, or move then attack, Borak was attacking magenta if he was alive. I just didn't think it was alive because it didn't seem to move and attack the last round.
It is really frustrating doing two rounds at a time...
Edit:My earlier post in discussion was to explain why I moved him from beside magenta back to where I had him. Not to not attack magenta.
GM Wolf |
Zerglings are small.
Yeah I forgot it. But I was going with what you stated and figured it out... then you changed it... now changing again... seems like you do want to reccon.
What do you mean doing two rounds at a time?! I have slowed it down so I don't act until all players have posted before the Zerglings act. Then wait for each of you to post your actions in the same round. I am trying to slow down for your sake more than even the game. And yet your frustration continues.
Oh I see what you are saying, Round 4 isn't complete because you just can't let the DM decide your actions based on your post. Well I thought we were done with Round 4 and were hoping the other players would get a chance to post.
Please ask questions here so that we can clear up any miscommunication or if I forget to explain something. For example magenta should have attacked and I forgot and thus didn't worry about it. Oh I know an even better reccon! Magenta burrowed into the goo and it is nearly impossible to see where it dug into the ground. Yup going with that, taking it out of the game, no AoO, Borak can move up and smack yellow. Yes I think that does it nicely. It does not provoke to burrow. You can of course try to get a Perception check DC 20 to see it, if you see it dig down you gain a +5 on the check.
Now that magenta is resolved let's resume our round.
Here comes my I statements:
I have kept my cool. I understand there is frustration, it's not all one sided. Let's work on Round 5 and try to work together and keep moving forward. Because honestly if we can't get past this then my feelings are likely to bubble over the pot and it will get messy, not a threat but if needed a promise. I shouldn't feel frustrated when coming to lead a game because if I did in the past the game was just canceled. I understand online PbP is harder as there is a lot of communication that can't be relayed. I am willing to move on and do my best to make the game enjoyable for all. I hope we can all move forward and have an enjoyable game.

... You notice that the floor has grown outside of the door by several inches. The door shuts.
LOL, all I can picture is the growth shutting the door itself..
Lectrum |
Lecturn I guess I will do the leg work that you should have done of figuring out where you are for hp.
It's weird that you haven't posted any questions or clarifications.
It's been a little difficult to track. Damage was moved around, eliminated, reduced, etc. I had hoped the reach and CR would give me more battlefield control, but the shooters are pretty tough and we are struggling to come to a united battle plan.
I'm fine with him leaving the room and drinking the concoction. Does anyone have additional healing? Or we can wait. I have a regeneration aura.
Doctor Ramada |
Does anyone have additional healing? Or we can wait. I have a regeneration aura.
I think our primary source of healing is going to be Magdali's channel energy, but I also have the healing bombs discovery, so if we can get into a group, I can use the splash damage to give our less-damaged party members additional healing.

I'm in three games with GM wolf and read the discussion question in another game first. but I figured I'd answer it here as well. If for no other reason I think the green bean recipe is good enough to pass on :)
Favorite food for the holiday. Wow, not a safe question to ask a fat guy...you know I can't list just one. Mmmm, I grew up addicted to mashed potatoes and gravy, so they don't get to count since we'd have them all the time. But over the years there have been a few dishes that stand out and have become part of the tradition.
My father-in-law used to make beef roll-ups with a cream cheese and horseradish filling for appetizers, they're awesome. My daughter still makes them. She also makes a sweet potato dish that has a crumble instead of marshmallows which is really good too. The latest addition is a green bean dish I found during covid when I had to cook thanksgiving dinner for just myself, my wife and our moms. I've fixed it several times since then and folks ask me for the recipe. yeah, I saved it to my Pinterest
Doctor Ramada |
Sincerest apologies for the lack of posting - I was the host this Thanksgiving, so I had a lot to take care of. As for Thanksgiving dishes, my favorite has to be the spicy bulgogi with fried rice that my parents always make. They always use purple rice to cook it, and it tastes like nothing else - it's one of the biggest highlights of Thanksgiving, for me.
Børak, if you're a fan of sweet potatoes, have you ever tried japchae? My family eats it every Thanksgiving. It's made using glass noodles, which themselves are made from sweet potato starch, and it's delicious. How easy it is to find depends on the area where you are, but most Korean restaurants serve it - it's a popular dish for special occasions.

Mmmmmm, I've got a pack and a half of glass noodles in my pantry. So far I've used them in leu of rice in stirfry dishes. I generally use rice noodles but wanted to try them. They are really good.
Columbus has a fast casual Korean restaurant called Bibibop and they serve 'sweet potato noodles' (as an option to rice) and I really like the noodes. So, I asked my daughters to pick me up some to experiment with when they were at the Asian market they shop at. (They live in Columbus which has such things, I'm about an hour northeast in a smaller town which doesn't.)
I will have to step out of my comfort zone and try to fix Japchae.
Edit: I just looked at a couple of bulgogi recipes on Pinterest, it looks delicious too!

Also, for the record, my intent wasn't to actually sit on the throne. When I said "his eyes rest on the throne," I meant he was looking at it, not sitting on it. I'm fine rolling with it, but I am actually in full agreement that sitting on the throne would be A Stupid Idea TM.
As for my character's erratic behavior, bear in mind that he is currently in Mutagen Wisdom-Penalty Land. If everyone is okay with saying that 40 minutes have passed, I'd actually like to have him go back to comparative lucidity at some point soon. Likewise, if it becomes annoying at any point, I would be happy to tone it down.

Speaking for myself, I think Doctor Ramada is absolutely hilarious. If you have the energy for the posts, keep on keeping on with him.
Børak |
Ditto, keep having fun with him.
I try to have my characters react to the action of the other characters but If I or Borak had a serious question for him I'd have Borak ask.

Oh sorry I misunderstood that.
I am fine either way.
I am really enjoying your posts and all the roleplaying aspects that could be created from them.

"These are augment crystals some can be used on weapons others on armor. These beauties are lesser elemental weapon augment crystals, which will attach to a magical weapon and confer 1d6 damage of the element. We have fire, cold, acid, sonic, lightning, and positive energy."
Valiard's point is interesting, how many crystals are there? Can more than one person use more than one crystal on more than one thing? What is the limitation? How would Borak go about augmenting his natural attacks?
Børak |
Thanks for the info GM Wolf
Borak has magical armor, and a magical bardiche. I like the idea of making borak's natural attacks magical, but I hate the idea of using a 7,000 gp gift on a 4,000 gp item. I'll keep looking, maybe come back to it if I can't find anything better.
How many 'armor' augment crystals are there? Are there any others?
Børak |
I've a special request. Since an 'amulet of mighty fists' is 4,000 gp. and Borak already has a magical amulet, could he find a 'gauntlet or bracer of mighty fists?' I didn't see anything in the magical item creation page that expressly forbade it.
Visayn |
Visayn also has magical armor (+1 mithral shirt with defiant vs. undead property). He could take one crystal for his new bow.
GM Wolf |
Sorry folks, my time has been flush with work and holiday activities for my students. I will likely not be able to post much tomorrow night either with my energy likely being low from the daily concerts and Robotics final projects. I get through this week and will have two weeks off to enjoy the holidays, family, and post to my hearts content.

Yes I am good with either of those options!
---Yes Lectrum could choose a +1 Horsechopper, you could even make it cold iron or another fun material.
---
Someone, maybe Drake, will get craft wondrous items and can make more augment crystals for the group.
The elements (we will make it six weapon augment crystals.)
fire - Visyan?
acid - Doctor Ramada
cold - Vaiard?
electricity -Valiard
sonic - Lectrum
positive - Borak
Børak |
Sweet, positive crystal it is and thanks for the fancy new gauntlet. I'm going to assume the bracelet takes one wrist, and the gauntlet takes the other. Again, thanks!
Once you decide to touch Drake and he can touch the crystal roll 3d16 and pick from the options of what your character gains:
1 Gain a curse
2-4 Gain nothing
4 +5 to speed
5 +1 Natural armor
6 +2 vs. magic aging spells and effects,
7 Resist Negative Energy 5
8 increase the base creature’s Cold resistance by 5.
9 increase the base creature’s Electricity resistance by 5.
10 Strength +1
11 Dexterity +1
12 Constitution +2
13 Intelligence +1
14 Charisma +2
15 +2 vs. disease
16 +2 to diplomacy
17 Channel Positive Energy
18 Positive Energy Affinity
19 Fast Healing 2
20 Strong Life Force
Ok a little confused, did you really mean: touch the crystal: 3d16 ⇒ (15, 11, 12) = 38 or the more common touch the crystal: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1) = 10 or did we want to include all the numbers and go touch the crystal: 1d20 ⇒ 1. Tell me which one it is and we'll go with that :)
Edit: Oh crap, wait! The 'd20' rolled a ... oh, never mind, maybe the curse will be lycanthropy....he's half way there anyways....

Man, I was thinking how cool a ghost hunting werewolf would be and was reminded about a TV show, Has anyone else seen Penny Dreadful?
Børak |
Yeah, penny dreadful was awesome, my understanding is that the writer new that it was going to be three years and he told the story he wanted to tell. That era, say late nineteenth century to pre-WW II is my favorite for 'adventure stories.' Science hasn't quite proved everything. Love those types of stories/games.
Thanks for rolling in game, will take the + 1 to dex!

I try to read every post thoroughly, honest I do, but did I miss something?
We have precisely one week before the Harrowstone spirits break free and overwhelm the town.
So much of what the doctor says feels like fluff, I can't tell if this is from his imagination or if I missed some information somewhere. GM Wolf would you clarify?
Edit: Ok, found it:
The young alchemist points in the direction of the town. "In the village, the Harrowstone Memorial, which commemorates the sacrifices of the prison personnel, has been vandalized with blood for the past two nights. The day after Lorrimor's funeral, it bore the letter 'V,' and yesterday, it had 'V-E.' I had initially suspected that it was meant to spell 'vengeance,' but I now suspect that the unknown author is in fact this 'Splatter Man' you speak of. If the warden's wife was named Vesorianna, we should have exactly one week to combat these five spirits and bring rest to Harrowstone." He glances at Visayn. "I believe that you, Visayn, are our resident expert on the inhabitants of Harrowstone. You said that the five most notorious prisoners were Father Charlatan, the Lopper, the Mosswater Marauder, the Piper of Illmarsh, and the Splatter Man. My mother Marica was from Illmarsh - it's a coastal town, and most of its goods bear a...
So Ramada, how sure are you that at the end of the week the prisoners will escape?
Doctor Ramada |
So Ramada, how sure are you that at the end of the week the prisoners will escape?
My line of reasoning is as follows, based on the information HERE:
"5 spirits in particular. One of whom, the Splatter Man is attempting to destroy her, by spelling out her name... Vesorianna."
Premise: Valiard told us that the warden's wife's ghost is keeping the malevolent spirits contained in Harrowstone (that is, rather than overwhelming the nearby town), and that the Splatter Man is destroying her by spelling out her name.
Premise: We know from earlier that the Harrowstone Memorial is being defaced in a very specific, methodical way, and we are currently three days into a ten-letter name at one letter per day.
Conclusion: Once seven more days have passed, the blood splatters will spell out "Vesorianna" and the benevolent ghost will be destroyed.
Conclusion: Since she was keeping the evil ghosts contained, her destruction would mean that the ghosts would be uncontained, free to wreak havoc on Ravengro.
This means that, as it currently stands and barring unexpected developments, we are in fact on a rather strict timetable, and we should make it our goal to gather one of the required prisoners' items per day, so we have two days' buffer. Since according to our resident Protoss Akhundelar the 'Zerg' will no longer grow and become more powerful (and are sealed several miles below the ground in any case), they are a secondary threat to the ghosts of the Harrowstone Five, and if we get side-tracked, Vesorianna will be destroyed and Ravengro will fall. Now, we may be able to lengthen this deadline or remove it entirely by destroying the Splatter Man's ghost first, but if we stay in the Zerg complex for too long, nothing will get done.
