I'll choose 2 (which will send me to the max of 3).
Also my home PC decided to get the Dying 4 condition last Friday. I forgot Farol was in this game as well as I asked him to please tell the tables I'm in... I'm at work now and I'll be catching up...

GM Watery Soup |

From other games, I know Beggar So is having some computer issues. I'll move us along if he doesn't post soon.

Beggar So |

So sorry for that. Slipped my mind.

GM Watery Soup |

Yeah, I apologize, I set this up all wrong. I don't think you guys were supposed to sleep. I think you were just supposed to be awake all night (armored and awake).
Usually, when setting something up, I take the CR as a hint (hounds are 3, bugbear is 2 = 110 XP for Level 3, so adding dim light, most of the party starting asleep and unarmored would make this Severe or Extreme) but I was dumb and thought you were Level 4 (probably a holdover from Malevolence), so it wasn't until I started noting discrepancies in what I thought your ACs were versus your listed ACs that I realized I had your levels wrong.
It's fine. The bugbear was the leader, so knocking him out will send the "minions" running.

There is nothing to apologize for DM!
It is how it played out (and how the dice fell). My post certainly wasn't a commentary on your mastering- just an acknowledgment that it was a though fight!

![]() |

I think it is fine GM! When I runed it, each and every fight was super easy for the team, so the fact that fights get hard is a nice break ;)

GM Watery Soup |

Buzz, any interest in the runestone? If not, Kzem's "I almost died" argument will hold the most water.

![]() |

Nope, the runestone is more beneficial to the others. Buzz will take one in the future if there are extra as his primary weapon are the bombs, he just doesn't have a lot of them so needs to use them sparingly.

Guys- sorry for a late reply. I am sans internet until Sunday. I am sorry for the long delay

Beggar So |

Hero point to the GM for that long conversation! :)

No problem.
Hero point to the GM for that long conversation! :)
Hero Point to Grimmylow for having a voice that is annoyingly prominent in my mind. :)

Beggar So |

Oh, Grimmy, Ulfgar is up in our Q17.

Grimmylow |

Got it this morning.
In the future, I'd really appreciate it if all GM's can have the bad guys run straight to Ulfgar so he doesn't have to waste actions getting to them.

Where's the fun in that? :)

Grimmylow |

I have what may be an odd question:
How close are we to being finished?
I only ask because I've rebuilt Grimmylow on paper for my actual PFS character and I'm wondering if it's worth figuring out his 3rd level (since the PFS version is only 2nd) and actually making the changes to this profile.
To be clear, I'm having a blast with this game and these characters and the GM so I'm not hoping we're close.

GM Watery Soup |

We are approximately 2/3 of the way through. There's a little bit more in this chapter, and then there's a third chapter. The third chapter is shorter than the first two.

Beggar So |

I’m also having a blast with the adventure. Though I’ve been down with the flu since Thursday. If combat breaks out, go ahead and bot me.

GM Watery Soup |

GM- Are you good with me applying remaster rules to Buzz when it is released. The bomb refills may help his situation of low amount of bombs.
Absolutely.
As a matter of fact, for entirely selfish reasons, I'd prefer that you do:
My -2001 character is an alchemist, and I've been waiting for the rebuild for quite some time. I'm planning on playing the character during Gameday, so I only have a few weeks to digest everything in PC2 after it comes out. :)
Basically, GMing Buzz is all the experience I'm likely to get before having to commit 12 levels of rebuild. hehe I'd love to hear your thought process as you rebuild.

Watery Soup |

The Alchemist, Remastered
So, the changes weren't as extensive as I thought they might be. (This is unfortunate, in my opinion.)
You'll get 4+INT (8) Advanced Alchemy items, and 2+INT (6) Versatile Vials. As a bomber, the versatile vials can be Quick Alchemied into bombs or they can be thrown for direct damage (not sure what that damage is or how it scales - I don't actually have PC2 yet, and AoN isn't updated, I'm just working off of Pathbuilder and Youtube videos). The versatile vials can be replenished at 2 per 10 minutes Exploration, so those are you cantrip-like resource.
Quick Bomber got a buff, so now it's 1 to Draw and Strike, or 1 to Quick Alchemy and Strike, so if you liked Quick Bomber Unremastered you'll like Quick Bomber Remastered.
The thing that will come into play is that Expanded Splash is no longer necessary at level 4 as a math fixer, opening up a class feat.
For my -2001, I ended up retraining a Wizard Dedication at Level 2 to Investigator, and picking up Devise at Level 4. A bunch of skill and general feats were shuffled around because I had selected them inefficiently on the way up, but that's about it. My rebuild was mostly pruning loose ends - I had purchased a ton of formulae (like poisons) hoping they'd be situationally useful, but it turns out that people don't like free poisons, so, whatever. I also bought a ton of backup bombs and elixirs because of the infused reagent shortage, but I could sell those all back.

Grimmylow |

So far, I've rebuilt Grimmylow, my dwarf ranger and my kholo witch.
Other than the spell casters getting a 1st level feat (which took me forever to confirm) there haven't been a lot of changes, honestly. Grimmylow gets more healing spells, which is nice and some of his spells are better, which is also nice, but it hasn't been a huge restructructuring.
I think my ranger is almost exactly the same except I used the opportunity to change up some of his skills.
The witch may have been the biggest change, but all it's done is make the familiars more useful (while also making them simpler) and made one of the hexes more effective.

Is that what you're bringing to my 04-15?

Beggar So |

can we use remaster rule mid-adventure? So one of So's feats was removed during the remaster so I'd need to choose another (that must be a record... using 'so' thrice in the same sentence!) :)

You are not only free to, but encouraged to. All the Common cantrips, for instance, should be switched to the new damage, even if you're going to keep the old chassis, but I'd prefer to normalize everything around Remastered.
The drawback is ... I don't own any of the core books (PC1, PC2, GMC). I rely on Archives of Nethys, and that hasn't been updated with PC2 yet.
Can Grimmylow sanctify the keep to counter the unholiness?
Absolutely ... is that a ritual?

GM Watery Soup |

The loot sheet is updated. As a group, you've accumulated 326.9 gp of sellable stuff, or 65.38 gp per PC. Beggar So can "buy back" the belt of good health for 42.5 gp, Kzem can "buy back" the +1 striking weapon for 50 gp, and I have in my notes that Thorn already bought a +1 weapon rune for 30 gp (although it should have been 35).
There is also an unclaimed bracelet of dashing, available for 29 gp. If you "buy back" anything that was liquidated, please change the "Cash" column to 0, and put your character's name in the "Assigned" column. That will claim the item.
Please level up to 4, and update the Macros on the Macros page.

Grimmylow |

The only ritual I see that comes close is Consecrate. But it takes 2 secondary casters who also worship my deity.
So...I may have to bring in some help.

GM Watery Soup |

I see Grimmy and Kzem are updated. How is everyone else doing?

Sorry, busy week. I updated thorn to lvl 4 no surprise there and no fancy feats: running reload I bought striking rune for 65 gp ;)

Beggar So |

I'll get to it tonight. So So just needs to grab a different feat and the loot...

GM Watery Soup |

From the other thread:
Take your time, So. I've been pretty busy this past week, my wife is on a business trip so I'm solo with the kids. And then GameDay started two days before I thought it was going to start, which was a self-inflicted wound, but still, I'm playing catch up.

Beggar So |

Almost there. Herolab is erroring out the Remastered transition so having to rebuild.
I know the feeling. It's not dying on So, but on another character... seems like the latest update doesn't like a few things...

Beggar So |

Can't decide on a striking rune for my handwraps or a +1 rune for my staff... decisions decisions... So if I'm reading the loot sheet right, we each get 65 and change? Is that so? :)

GM Watery Soup |

You got 65.38 gp from Chapter 2, but you also got 35.02 gp from Chapter 1, plus whatever you had left over from character creation. It's possible you can get both. I don't have a record of what you purchased at the end of Chapter 1.

Beggar So |

That's what I thought... Thanks. He'll get the +1 rune for the staff since it's the one he uses more often...

Beggar So |

btw, the MrBeast thing was hilarious...

GM Watery Soup |

Kzem, I probably should have noticed this earlier, but can you check your AC?
AC = 10 + Trained (2) + Level (4) + DEX (1) + breastplate (4) = 21?

![]() |

GM: I am so sorry. I apparently had the shield button clicked when I exported the character, so it showed up as 23. Your math is correct and I have been an accidental cheater.

![]() |

Sorry friends. It has been a long two weeks for me and most of my mental margin has gone to work. Long story short, I just turned in my notice at the job I have had for the last 14 years and am in the process of transitioning to a new job while trying to "leave well" and protect my sanity.

Hey mate, thanks for letting us know, and all the best on the path of changes!

Grimmylow |

Here's hoping the job change was because it was time to move to a better one and not because it was time to leave a bad one.
In either case, I hope the change is for the better.
