1 person marked this as a favorite. |
And get paid! I mean, we do get paid, do we?
Ask Penelope that in character. I triple dog dare you.
I guess Jenkin has a month of free drinks to look forward to, at least...
Yeah, good to head back to town.
Penelope Pinch |
:) She will pull out her most disappointed frown.
If someone wanted to confirm this was our resident, I believe that would satisfy our characters that argued against taking the stuff. Maybe a survival roll for time of death and layers of dust? Footprints matching, something else in the room.
Odelai the White |
My guess is it isn't. The dwarf has been dead a long time - nearly mummified. There was no indication that the half-eaten crow was ancient. I think the crow-eater is hiding or fled when we started roaming around.
Given that the meal is a crow, I'm almost wondering if this is the lair of that hobgoblin we ran into before. Maybe he ate one of his crows?
Penelope Pinch |
That would be horrible! But that does make a lot of sense. Nice logic.
Deaths Adorable Apprentice |
Alrighty! Gonna take yall yo the river!
Sorry I haven't said anything. Was waiting for replies. And then a pipe broke yesterday so I have no water. But I have someone coming to fix it and just have to wait. But that was all my spoons yesterday.
Also we are nearing the end of the module. There are a few others that follow this one. But I know I have been inconsistent in posting. I am happy to run the next one and the others if you all want. And if not I completely understand
Deaths Adorable Apprentice |
It's a pretty big river, largely used to move lumber. Almost a mile long. No desire to do a check each round for this whole thing so we will do 3 of them. Will be about an hour of swimming. We will do 3 check each as full rounds. Need to hit a DC 15 to do all 3 to get across. If you hit a 10 you will lose speed, get caught in something, ect. Meaning you get half your speed at the DC15 and a quarter your speed at the DC1o.
At the end you need to do one more swim check at a DC 20 or take 1d6 points of nonlethal damage from fatigue.
If you all have a way to get across in a different way feel free to try anything. Spells, trees, ect.

Quick post since I am at work, but just to say YES!!! to wanting to continue. I am enjoying the game, you as a GM, and the interactions between our characters.
So yes yes yes, and thank you
Elowen |
Definitely down to continue

I swear I'm never casting Thorn Javelin again.

At the end you need to do one more swim check at a DC 20 or take 1d6 points of nonlethal damage from fatigue. This is due to it taking almost an hour of swimming to get across.
If you all have a way to get across in a different way feel free to try anything. Spells, trees, ect.
You all are free to make all your rolls and narrate it if you want. If not I can do them in a big lump if you want?
Penelope Pinch |
Oh, um, Penelope only has a +2 swim check. She might die here... I think I'd rather you roll her death than mine :(
Jenkin Ternham |
Oh, huh. Jenkin could make it, if he strips off his armor, probably. Maybe Penelope should turn around and swim back to shore and we can figure something else out. (Jenkin could swim across towing people?)
Elowen |
If our strongest swimmer can get across with a drop that we anchor to this side, the line should aid the crossing for everyone else.
Jenkin Ternham |
We have about 200 feet of rope between us, I think, including the one we found. If the river's a mile across, that's not really enough to make a guideline across the entire width.
Penelope Pinch |
Thank goodness!!
Jenkin Ternham |
Jenkin can swim back across, tie off to Elowen next, and do the same as he just did with Odelai. Sir Pounce should have a auto-succeed Swim score (and doesn't even have to get nekkid for it); maybe Svetlana can just ride him across? That would mean we take about 4 hours to cross the river, altogether.
Elowen |
Yay!

Questions, DAA, related to my level-up/plans:
1. For buying spells, is there another witch in town (or a wizard with some appropriate spells)?
2. Is there a wizard that I can chat with about this weakly magical ruby to maybe ascertain what kind of item it came from?

For the Feat I'll take extra hex.
New hex: Verdant Path (Sp): Even the most tangled briars make way for the shaman, and suitable roots and branches appear to support her feet. The shaman gains woodland stride, as per the druid ability of the same name. At 8th level, she can use air walk at will whenever she is within 10 feet of a tree, though the effect ends instantly when she moves farther than 10 feet from a tree.
Deaths Adorable Apprentice |
Verdant Path is neat!
As to buying spells there is Laurel who is a Alchemist and Lady Cirthana is a cleric. People say Sharvaros Vade is a witch, warlock, or a crusty old wizard. But the general consists of is that he is not to be messed with. And he lives in the Perch, the richer part of town.Though his son, Savram, is part of the group that hangs around Svetlana and Sir Pounce.
This is largely a poor town filled with mostly poor working class. But Ayda Vorshin, a half orc who works in High Market, runs weekly caravans from Olfden to Falcon's Hollow. Oldfen is a much larger town. But there will be an extra fee. Promise I'm not trying to be a jerk.
