Iz-dubar |

I count 6 PCs (Ciri, Ratel, Thoron, Iz-dubar, Slim Jim, and Sigrid) unless I’ve missed someone
Endure elements: 7 (Iz-dubar x3, Sigrid x1, Thoron x3)

brvheart |

Hyperboria or Hyperbornia is the ancient kingdom that encompassed the continent of Akados and colonized much of Libinos (where you are now). Akados is where Rappan Athuk, Bard's Gate, and most of the rest of Frog God modules are. I can post a map of the world if people are interested. Things fragmented after the undead king was defeated. The known world includes two populated continents, Akados in the west and Libynos in the east. To the north, under a deep sheet of ice, is the lost continent of Boros, from which the ancient Hyperboreans once came and to which they returned when they withdrew almost a thousand years ago.
Yes, Iz-dubar there are six PCs, but you also have the NPC acolyte that needs food and water also. He is helping create the water and helps as your cook. He has endure elements for himself.

brvheart |

Ciri said she would take third watch and Thoron normal does as he has dark vision and cannot take second as he is a cleric.
Ok, the two to them need to roll perception.

Ratel Dier |

Didn't mean to avoid the question: Ratel, first watch? When not riding in a wagon, he will take point, morning and or afternoon.
Sitting back on the wagons buck-board, Ratel tried to listen to the arcanists explanation of time. He'd never really been interested in the sciences, that was his younger brother's calling. Their father had given Detlef a choice of 'callings.' Their older brother Vanhin would follow in father's footsteps and become lord, ruling the small holding where they grew olives. He, Ratel, like all good second-born noble-sons in the city state of Shabbis, would join the clergy. Detlef, would take up a noble trade: merchant, scholar, musician. He's selected to be a scholar and intentionally attended universities far afield.
Shaking his head, Ratel realized he'd started to dose off. Smiling, looking around at the desert, he realized he'd done the same as his little brother. He'd not had the intelligence or wisdom to become one of the true priests of Mitra, but he had the build and training to serve as a 'sword of the light.' It had allowed him to travel and select tasks, no matter where it sent him. He'd even been able to visit his brother the short period of time he was in Thybos. Blinking his eyes, he rubbed at them as he smiled at the half-elf, attempting to pay better attention until they prepared to make camp.
Based on the Events at hand, I'm assuming the rest of us are asleep?

brvheart |

Yes, being that it is 4AM, everyone else is asleep or should be.
Out of the darkness, some 30' from Ciri appears a strange creature. This gaunt, leathery creature wears a ten-gallon hat, leather boots, a button-down shirt and tattered trousers wrapped tight around its waist by a worn-out leather gun belt. This unearthly gunfighter carries with it the foul smell of the grave and a vengeful gleam in its eyes. He looks at Ciri, pointing to her and says, "draw".

Ciri Princess of Cintra |

Ratel Dier: Blinking his eyes, he rubbed at them as he smiled at the half-elf, attempting to pay better attention until they prepared to make camp.
ROFLOL
confused, Ciri raises the alarm, spend a point towards caster level and throws 3 magic missiles at the creature, drawing/activating her sword

brvheart |

The creature draws his gun and fires twice
range touch: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14 damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
range touch: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Ciri, make a DC 15 Will save or be shaken for rnd: 1d4 ⇒ 2 rounds due to his bad reputation.

Ratel Dier |

The creature draws his gun and fires twice
Even if were asleep do we get to roll perception to hear the gun shots with a Creature making the check is asleep DC modifier +10? Would it count as Hear the sound of battle DC modifier – 10?
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20

"Slim" Jim |

Jim tended to be a deep sleeper although sometimes his dreams were troubled.
Strange dreams? (perception): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

brvheart |

Yes, Ciri and Thoron please roll init. The rest call roll for next round presuming Sigrid makes a DC 16 perception.
init desperado: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Thoron, Roll20 page is 5' per square. I cannot load objects at the moment so he is a circle, lol.

brvheart |

Initiative Order Round One
Evil Roy
Ciri
Thoron
He fires back at Ciri
range touch: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32 damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
extra damage: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23 damage: 3d8 + 12 ⇒ (2, 5, 6) + 12 = 25
Ciri falls and the gunslinger slinks off into the darkness.

![]() |

"I'm coming." Moves to help Ciri.
Cure Moderate Wounds: 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (4, 7) + 6 = 17
adding Sun's Blessing because of my level
1.5*17=25.5 rounding up should give you 26 back
checks if Ciri needs any more help
Heal Check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
"That thing was nasty. Avoid them if you can, please."

brvheart |

Yes, you were 50' away from her so would need to wait until next round to actually heal her. Luckily she had the 1 hp to give at -12 of -14. You might think of moving then channeling next time:) That would be healer's blessing. Sun's blessing adds your level to channeling damage vs undead. I know, it has been awhile for both of us:) The heal check will reveal she is still down 31 hp after your cure spell. She was at death's door.

Ratel Dier |

init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 Are we still in initiative?
Hearing a loud crack like thunder, Ratel threw off his blanket rolling to his feet as he grasped his longsword in one hand and his shield in the other. As the swords scabbard falls off, the blade illuminates the area around him. Casting strange shadows as he sees Thoron heading towards a lump on the ground he assumes is the odd arcanist. As he attempts to arm his shield he calls out "Sir Dwarf what is happening?"
If were still in combat: move action: pick up sword and shield, Move action: stand up. I'm assuming the shield is not armed until next round. Wherever he's at in initiative this would be his first-round action so place his actions wherever appropriate

Iz-dubar |

Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Iz-dubar’s dreams of white towers and Lion faced bartenders is interrupted by an explosive sound. He extradited himself from his blankets and grabbed his weapon trying to figure out what was going on, ”Huh, what?”

brvheart |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Iz-dubar stumbles out of the tent in time to see a vaguely humanoid form walking into the darkness.
Ratel's 3 will be later in the round. Waiting on Slim Jim and Sigrid

"Slim" Jim |

Init: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
The painfully loud gunshots made Jim turn over suddenly. Feeling muzzy from the sleep he grabbed his sabre, stood up and shouted "What's going on?!"
I assume Jim can't do more than that this round. Also he doesn't sleep in armour (talk about uncomfortable) so he'll be down some AC.

Ciri Princess of Cintra |

Coming around in in Thoron's arms, She looks up at him and smiles
As you wish, my hero, next time I will run, thank you for saving me, I was seeing a light.

brvheart |

"Slim" Jim I have you waking and standing last round for your actions which is why you are not acting until now. You can move outside sans armor before Iz-dubar. If you do move out of the tent you will also see the creature. Correct, you can't sleep in armor greater than light. Not that armor will do much good stopping a bullet anyway:)

Iz-dubar |

Sword drawn Iz-dubar pronounced a quick prayer to Mitra calling down a blessing upon himself and his weapon. Sanctified with holy power he chased after the figure, ”Halt! What is going on here?”
Actions: Standard=blessing (Holy strike); move=25ft; swift=fervor divine favor (self)
Holy Strike (minor): At 1st level, you can touch one weapon and bless it with the power of purity and goodness. For 1 minute, this weapon glows green, white, or yellow-gold and deals an additional 1d6 points of damage against evil creatures. During this time, it’s treated as good for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction. This additional damage doesn’t stack with the additional damage from the holy weapon special ability.

"Slim" Jim |

OK then.
Sword in hand Jim stepped out from the tent, noting the figure in the darkness he raced towards them. As he ran, he called upon the magic within his favorite blue scarf, in case there was any funny business.
"Who are you?" he demanded as he approached.
Swift action: spend one panache point to activate his Swordmaster’s Flair granting him 5' extra reach for 1 minute.
Double move to the figure. I count 10 squares worth of movement to get there.

brvheart |

The creature moves 5' and turns around, then utters, "The names Roy"
He then fires one shot at "Slim" Jim
range touch: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26 damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
And another at Iz-dubar
range touch: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
At this point, the cleric's healing goes off and Ciri wakes up.
Ratel Dier is next
Both Iz and Jim need to make DC Will save vs his bad reputation or be shake for rnd: 1d4 ⇒ 2 rounds.

brvheart |

You are fine Thoron. Just Ciri as she is still down 30+ hp. Everyone else is finally catching up to you.

![]() |

Scratch that I didn't see your response will switch out level 2 spell for a CMW and try to get her up a bit more
Cure Moderate Wounds: 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (8, 3) + 6 = 17
If you allow to use the healer's blessing will be another 26 back
if not it's 17 per cast
Hehe I had the same result on both casts.
"Its an undead and whatever it is. It's nasty! Come help please"

"Slim" Jim |

Due to the sword master's flair, Jim has reach to threaten him despite the 5' step, so I think he gets an AOO.
Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Pain blossomed in his chest and he grunted, "Never heard of you!" With that he lunged at the over confident gunman, aiming for the man's torso.
AOO?: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19Damage: 1d6 + 9 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 6 = 18

brvheart |

Yes, that is an AOO, but Roy dodges out of the way of the blade. Ratel is up. Not sure how Sigrid is sleeping thru all the gun fire.

Ratel Dier |

2nd round action
pulling his shield up onto his arm, Ratel out of the tent, seeing Thoron ministering to the sorceress to the east, he realizes the enemy has moved to north west. Hearing The dwarf say it was 'undead' Ratel tries to determine what sort of undead they were dealing with.
move action put on shield, move action 30 ft out of the tent.
knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Ciri Princess of Cintra |

Action after being healed, get up and move to the other side of Thoron 30 ft while drawing zireael [who takes independent action to activate energy attunement for force damage] and I use swift action for arcane Strike.

brvheart |

Initiative Order Round Two
Slim Jim
Iz-dubar
Evil Roy
Thoron
Ratel
Cira

Iz-dubar |

Round 2
Iz-dubar called down a blessing of strength upon himself and took a mighty two handed swing with his longsword at the undead creature.
better of attack 1: 1d20 + 11 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 11 + 3 + 2 = 27
or better of attack 2: 1d20 + 11 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 11 + 3 + 2 = 34 best of 2= 34
Damage, vital strike, power attack, divine favor: 2d8 + 9 + 6 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (3, 7) + 9 + 6 + 3 + 3 = 31
addition good damage if opponent is evil: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Full round action =vital strike, swift action = fervor (bulls strength)
Greater weapon of the chosen take best of two rolls to attack
Vital strike roll weapon damage twice 2d8
Divine favor +3 hit&dmg
Power attack +6dmg (no penalty to hit with furious focus)
Bulls strength +2 to hit +3dmg
Holy strike +1d6 vs evil

"Slim" Jim |

"A mighty strike... Quite impressive." remarked Jim to Iz-dubar. Steeling himself, Jim checked the remains to see if they could get any clue as to why this 'Roy' attacked, or if there was anything useful he'd left behind.
Perception?: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
After his examination, Jim returned back to the tent and tried as best he could to get some sleep.

brvheart |

The creature, a Desperado, and his equipment all crumble into dust....
A hole in the desert can hold many secrets, but sometimes it cannot
keep an evil soul buried in the ground. Desperados are undead gunfighters
that were so mean and despicable in life that even death was not enough
to end their killing ways. Desperados never rise from a grave found in any
habitat other than a desert, a fact that is often attributed to the climate’s
ability to naturally mummify humanoid corpses. They remember every facet of their mortal life
and spend their undead existence seeking retribution against their enemies and any other
unfortunate creature that crosses their path.

Ratel Dier |

Seeing Iz-dubar's fierce attack, Ratel approaches as the creature and its unusual gear turned to dust. He nods in agreement with the warpriest, "Yes, all praise and glory be to 'he who shines upon us with justice."
Turning away from the battle he approaches the sorceress and asks, "Kuleen Mahila are you ok?"
