Last we left off, our heroes had completed a thorough exploration of the Lost Chapel, where they had defeated a powerful winged demon as well as several ghouls, allowing the abandoned temple to be more thoroughly explored. As you did so, Coram noticed a vague sense of approval coming from the legendary but diminished longsword Radiance and the magical power radiating from it increased. It now has a permanent +1 enhancement bonus
As you return to your army's camp, you are approached by Sosiel, a cleric of Shelyn who has accompanied you since you left the city of Kenabres after destroying the Wardstone. He reports that two of your other companions, Nurah and Aron have gone missing since your excursion to the temple and their whereabouts are unknown.
"Sirs and Ma'am. I regret needing to bring new problems to your attention so shortly after you came back from the temple, but two of our officers are missing. Nurah and Aron have disappeared since you left to the temple. I do not know where they have gone, but they could not have been gone long since they were here when we saw you off to go explore the temple."
Bart the Bard |
We should start by asking around and seeing if anyone knows anything. I whip out my handy dandy notebook and compose a song to help us. Then I cast Summon Musical Instrument and manifest a violin, and begin my Bardic Performance for Inspire Competence (+3 on all skill checks) to help them remember.
Please my dear comrade,
We have a question for you.
Nurah and Aron are missing,
We cannot find those two!
Have you heard or seen
Any word or clue
That can help us discover
Where our friends got to?
They are officers in our army
And they shouldn't be missing!
Is it possible that they have
Simply gone off for kissing? ;)
Now please search your mind
And share any information
So that we may all continue
Our jolly murdercation.
(Sing it with me!!)
Aurelius Cain |
**it's been awhile, can you refresh my memory on who the two missing people are?**
Aurelius looks on with mild disdain as Bart finishes his song, then continues, "your original assessment is sound, though your manner of pursuing it is a bit...crass. But, we csn work on that later. For now," he turns to Sosiel. "When was the last time you saw them? Did you hear any talk from them of going off on their own? Was there anyone in the group they've been spending more time than normal with?"
GM Andie |
Nurah is a halfling historian who knows about the history of Drezen, the city you will be taking. Aron is a ranger, scout, and expert demonologist, and Sosiel is a cleric and siege engineer. Incidentally, it's about 2 PM.
Sosiel chuckles slightly at Bart's musical interrogation.
"Unfortunately, I do not have many clues to offer. Aron was the best tracker we had and aside from brief, routine interactions with the soldiers, I can't think of much they did that struck me as unusual. I saw Nurah this morning at breakfast and Aron not long after. I took the liberty of speaking with the man leading the camp lookouts for the past two days, Arles Jhestander but thought you may want to speak with him yourselves. He's awaiting us near the officer's tents."

Ok, to roll a die you basically type as follows but with brackets instead of parentheses: (dice=Perception)1d20+modifier(/dice)
Sosiel leads the party to a small cluster of tents near where the party's own tents are put up. A scarred, grizzled middle-aged man stands in front of one. Arles gives a formal, practiced salute as the party approaches.
"Sirs. I have questioned the men who were posted near the exits to the camp. There's been no sign of Nurah, but one of my sentries reported that he saw Aron leaving to the west."
