I will be able to deal with swarms eventually. I just don't get a limited number of spells so it will be a few levels. Until then hopefully we can get some alchemist fires.

So we have a monk an inqusitor and a wolf?
Nice frontline we got now, only trouble I possibly see is swarms, and of course getting surprise rounded without armor :).
And the wolf has a hawk familiar. :D
Also, to complete the picture, my uMonk will be taking a bit of uRogue in future... in case those hypothetical swarms are buzzing around locked doors.
And no DM would ever press a big, juicy, red button labeled "PCs can't handle swarms well". ;P

Here's hoping that everyone is doing well this holiday season and that we can get rolling again after!

Hey all. I’m sorry that I have been MIA for so long. After my illness, other things in my life went sideways. Until things settle down, I won’t be able to continue, and that won’t be for at least a couple more months. It sucks, especially because this game has been a lot of fun and you’ve all been great players. Thanks for joining me, and have a great start to the new year!

I am willing to wait for you to have life settle down. If that is not in the cards then I wish you the best in the coming year!

Awesome! 5/6. Thanks everyone for being flexible with me. It’s really cool of you all. I sent a PM to Mizuchi, but he's unfortunately not able to join us. At this point, I don’t have any plans to replace him.
To get back to things quickly, I’ll narrate us from the hill to the crypt’s entrance at the bottom of the small valley. It’s probably been the part everyone’s been itching to get to.

I enjoy leveling up, but I’m not in a hurry… besides L2 is going to be a tough choice. Do I make her a more skilled monk and get that extra feat OR do I take a level in uRogue for the tasty skills, build toward my full vision of her, and make her just a bit more deadly with precision damage?
| Aeric "Screamer" Thorleifson |
Hmm, I get mage armor from my dip at level 3 and can probably cast it on you. The other one goes on his to be acquired mysterious phanom friend.
I dont really know wha a wilder does, but I may be the first one to get access to it. Its obviously preferable to get a wand :).

I can't see this new room (if I'm supposed to be able to do that). Since I'm holding a torch, you may need to add illumination to my character... the Token Emits Light setting under Dynamic Lighting, if you are using that feature.

My understanding from this link is that fear from any source stacks and increases intensity. The exception being use of intimidate to demoralize, which explicitly can instil shaken but then further uses just lengthen the duration.
So I was planning a general character tactic of kicking of with intimidate to start the shaken condition, then ramp it up with powers etc. If you're ruling otherwise I may need to rethink... :)
I can spend extra power points yet, I can only use up to my manifester level (1).

Well, isn’t this complicated. I was referring to d20pfsrd.com which says:
You can use this skill to cause an opponent to become shaken for a number of rounds. This shaken condition doesn’t stack with other shaken conditions to make an affected creature frightened.
So, I looked back at my rulebook (6th printing), and it’s the same as aonprd, so I’ll rule as written in there. Not sure what the source of the other is.
Post coming later today.

I have no complaints about the game in the least... That said, if you'd like to Fast Forward through any dragging bits, I am fine with that. PbP can really make things feel slow unless everyone is posting of frequently.
So, in terms of strategy, I'm happy to have Moon play scout. Normally, she'd be stealthing everywhere and then using PER before entering any room. If you want to auto-pilot the action then you really don't need any stealth rolls until they might reveal something important. And you are free to make any stealth or PER rolls for Moon so we can jump right into the action.
I like to clear all rooms in an area before moving on... because leaving spots where baddies could be hiding on your flank is great as a DM but not so hot as a player. :)
If you need any more guidance on Moon, just let me know. Also, if you fast forward things and don't know how Moon would react, you can PM me and I'll be happy to answer the question privately so you don't have to spoil any surprises by asking in Discussion.
| Somonti |
Somonti is much less tactical than the others, she'll sort of meander around keeping her distance from Moon as she recognizes Moon is doing their thing but not worrying too much about specific footage or order of march. As far as her attention goes, she's more interested in the little things: bugs, marks on the walls, the ceilings etc, than listening for foes.
How are we doing for time? Somonti has plenty of PP for now.
In character: Somonti is a stroppy teenager, she's going to get pretty grumpy if she doesn't eat/rest.
Meta: I need a one hour meditation before I can transform again. I'm more than happy to press on. just something to bear in mind.
Are we leaving our scared friend behind? We could use that room as a bit of a base of operations, somewhere to rest and retreat to if needed.

I am happy with the game, but we can definitely speed up. Sumak is mainly just following behind and trusting in the others to in the way. So just have me in the back. I lack detect magic or other helpful spells for this currently.
