4 guns: 3 projectile, 1 energy based. Darkvoid, Tuek, and Little have been shooting the projectile weapons. Energy weapon is open.

Don't shoot energy at Ratrod, he's got some kind of mod to his bike that will convert energy attacks into an advantage for him.

Orsis overcomes the hit to his vehicle to speed toward the finish line, but is too far back to be in contention. Nyizin also puts on a burst of speed, and Velocity lives up to its name with a strong finish. Ratrod, however, can't seem to right his vehicle as he sees his chances of victory speed away.

Ratrod, Velocity and Nyizin all cross the finish line too close to tell which of them was first, but it doesn't matter - the Starfinders are victorious!

FINAL STANDINGS

(-1-) Starfinders 3350/3000
(-2-) Ratrod 2750/3000
(-2-) Velocity 2750/3000
(-2-) Nyizin 2750/3000
(-5-) Orsis 2500/3000
(DNF) Lemgem

Laboni apologizes to Ratrod for her previous statements. The ysoki’s pride clearly still hurts, but the gesture compels the Salvage Union to offer Laboni some extra payment in the form of collected gear, on top of the race’s prize money. In turn, Laboni presents you with a set of graphite carbon skin armor and 400 credits from the race’s prize pool.

You report back to Radaszam, who is both exasperated and vaguely amused at the result. He thinks Laboni may become a regular on the junkracing scene, and hopes this victory won't go to her head. He thanks you for your help and sends you on to your next mission.

"Scare it back? How? In space, no one can hear you scream," notes Tuek. "Still, a talk with Zigvigix would undoubtedly be illuminating."

Garbage litters the ground around the district’s largest art park—a cement lot filled with undulating metal sculptures and covered in graffiti of grotesquely adorable creatures. The sounds of music and chatter drift over from the nearby clubs, chronically interrupted by the roar of the local gangsters’ engines. A heavily augmented host shirren is sitting on one of the park benches, eating a simple meal of cold grub-noodles and rice candy. Their antennae perk up at the tremor of approaching footsteps. “Welcome, new Starfinders! And congratulations!” the shirren’s voice telepathically projects. “My speech-name is Zigvigix, but feel free to call me Ziggy, if that would be easier for you. Have some rice candy to celebrate your graduation! Today is your big day!

“When you are ready, I have two assignments I could use assistance with. The first is to help me secure a new headquarters on Absalom Station. I’ve been in talks with our station’s protectors, the Stewards, and they were kind enough to give us ownership of a warehouse here in Downlow for that purpose! The current owners no longer want it because a vicious alien took it over and kills anyone who goes inside. Once the alien is gone and the warehouse cargo has been returned to its owners, we can start installing desks and computers, so please go in and incinerate the creature!

“My second assignment...” Zigvigix twitches their tooth barbs for a moment and then holds out a credstick. “Please buy the brand-new Strawberry Machine Cake album, Star Sugar Heartlove!!!, which is out today, and give it to Historia-7 when you see her. She is the head of the Dataphiles, so you should meet her today! I wish to do it myself, but I... I have trouble standing for long periods of time. Thank you very much!”

Nice work, guys. I was worried for a bit.

With Ziggy

"Ziggy, Little," the verthani points a thumb back at his chest, then opens his hand into an outward wave, that turns in to a pointing finger. "Dirk, Deevee, Tuke, and Maz. Machine Cake's got a new album out? Didn't know. Guess I was studying too hard. We can handle those things for you. No problem.

Mazirek sends a telepathic wave of his antennae back in greeting to his fellow Shirren. Was wondering why they'd send the greenest of green Agents to secure their headquartes! We're expendable, so this alien creature must be a bit of an unknown entity.

"I've never cared for non-Shirren music. I don't think our auditory organs perceive sound in quite the same way and I find it... irritating, to say the least," he confesses, taking the credstick from Zigvigix.

"Do you have any intel to share on this creature?"
________
If there is no useful information to be had from Zigvigix, I say we do whatever task is on the way to the other. Also, is Starfinder really telling me that we have to go buy a physical album?! Where is my all digital future?! :P

Zigvigix explains that they believe the creature is a feather stalker, a predator far more unpleasant than its name implies. As far as the Stewards have been able to piece together, a two-bit crime lord illegally imported the creature, and the beast promptly ate him. Zigvigix can provide holorecordings of the incident taken off the station’s security cameras. If you watch them, you can attempt a Life Science check to obtain more information.

Zigvigix hands you a credstick, saying that there should be just enough funds on it to buy the album for Historia-7, and gives you instructions on how to get it, as well as the location of the warehouse. As it happens, the music shop is on your way.

When you reach the vendor, you see there is a line. A very long line. If you decide to stay, you will be there for 6 hours before your turn. Each of you will need to make a DC 12 Fortitude save to avoid being fatigued as well as a DC 11 Reflex save to avoid 1d4 ⇒ 3 bludgeoning damage from the exuberant crowd on the way out.

When you get to the front of the line, you are relieved to see that there are still plenty of copies of the album left, and true to their word, Ziggy's credstick has exactly the 50 credits needed to purchase a copy for Historia-7. You can buy as many more copies of the album as you wish a that price. This decision will affect your chronicle, though there is no benefit for an individual having 2 or more copies that you do not get from having only one.

Can Tuek try to steal a copy?

If so:

"So, this is the new album, eh?" Tuek says to the clerk. Turning his head to the side, he says, "Oh, and I see that the band has come here personally to sign some copies!"
Bluff to create a diversion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
If successful, Tuek gets a +10 bonus to the next check.
The ysoki attempts to slip the album into a cheek pouch, unseen.
Sleight of Hand to Palm an Object w/fatigue: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 8 - 1 = 8

When caught...
Tuek shrugs. "My mistake." The ysoki offers a personal credstick with 50 credits on it.

Mazirek takes the time to watch the footage of the Feather Stalker while he waits in line. "Shame we have to put down such a beast. Should have been left alone in its natural habitat!" he laments.

The line itself and the crowd on the way out don't seem to bother him much. He is content to keep to himself until it is time to purchase the album and head out, hopefully without having to rescue his fellows from a mob!
