The Kitsune Wedding (Inactive)

A well-dressed noblewoman turns in her seat, spots Andor, and groans, hiding her face behind her hand as she leans in toward the half-orc paladin beside her.

"Do not make a scene of it, but Andor just arrived."

Another arrives but stays sheepishly on the outskirts to watch the festivities. The corners of his mouth curl up into a smile of true happiness but his eyes and tears hold more to them.

"Oh the adventures they must have seen. If only I had not been called away...but today is for celebrating! To all of them, especially the wedded." he muses to himself.

Hiiragi happens to catch a glance out of the corner of her eye; it (and its twin) widens immediately, and she comes sprinting across the plaza, wife in tow.

"JUZO! How've you been!? We missed you!!"

"Hiiragi! Onna! Your eyes are ever sharper or sitting down all day has me duller. I feel like a new man being out here and seeing this joyous occasion. One more day cooped up and I would have been a crotchety old court noble...how drab! Yet this day isn't about me...it is about you two and of course celebrating as much as possible. How have your days been?" Juzo says, turning on his charm after a small frown at being spotted. He also pulls out a bottle of the finest Taldan wine for the couple when he mentions celebrating.

Hiiragi grins. "I have an eye for anyone whose face I've borrowed," she points out, "even if I did hide it behind a mask!"

"Same old same old for us, I think? We saved a horror town from some horrors, Onna died, we got a dog..."

Standing next to Lady Vulpina is a half-orc in ornate plate armor. Andor?!?! What's he doing here. It must be the open bar." He helps himself to a second plate of dumplings. "Anyway, thanks for being my 'plus one'. The Shelynite leadership thought it was important to send a representative, and I didn't want to show up without someone to commiserate with." He nods at the brides, "I've been wondering, with all the shape-changing, how do you think any kitsune even know they're dating another kitsune? I mean, for most races it's pretty easy to tell, even with mixed parentage. I couldn't imagine what that would entail. You think it's like a scent thing? Or, like, an 'awareness'? I mean, how are they expected to keep a race going if there ain't some way to tell each other they're of the same blood? It's crazy, right?"

Onna hugs Juzo as soon as the brides reach him. "Oh nonsense. This day is about celebrating our love with those most important to us. That includes you! Otherwise it would just be the two of us out here...and in that case Hiiragi and I would probably be remarkably over dressed." She pauses to really take a look at the mesmerist, "Seriously though, it is very nice to see you. We've often wondered how you've been. You need to get out more often!"

Oh .... no I didn't Andor. I've been fine thanks. No, didn't know the couple directly but I believe that they may have attended some of my performances. Besides, it was said that all Pathfinders were invited and ... well you know me. I'd never turn down an invitation to party and have fun. I just finished dancing in the air, with a rather attractive sylph woman that I'm sorta thinking of getting to know better.

She paused for a bit. Lessee .... I helped deal with a bunch of giants and helped a rather confused ettin, erm, found a piece of the Sky Key, and even took part in the leadup to the Ruby Phoenix Tournament, just after I gained my wings. But yeah ... been good .... no plans to settle down yet ... I'd probably get bored.

She grins at that How have you been then?

Andor laughs although it’s clear that Kat’s presence is clearly intimidating.

“I am absolutely sure that anybody would welcome you at their party! When you have so many talents then you have to share them, correct?! It’s unbelievable what you have done! I am glad that you are still alive! Well, I’ve been traveling and almost died because of a demon near the Worldwound. But your Lady of Luck is always at your side and as you know many in my family - including myself - are followers of the smaller Lady Luck … so I’m glad you’re here to get me out of trouble in case that’s necessary!!“ he says with a smile.

He then looks over at Korum and Lady Vulpina but does not wave.

He looks at Kat, “I saw some other agents that I know. Do you want to … ehh … accompany me or … ehh … of course you can also stay here?!“ he asks shyly.

Sure ... why not Kat grins. She offers an arm for him to take if he wants to.

Andor grins and is clearly pleasantly surprised.

“Thanks Kat! I hope you don’t mind me changing back to human form. These guys rarely saw me in my fox form! I just recently started to wear fur during adventures… I even think the mission with you was the first time I did that. We never change into vulpine form in my family so I was the first to try … nobody’s following my trend though.“

He walks over to swashbuckling Lady Vulpina and the mighty Paladin Korum with Kat.

“Hey guys, I hope you’re well! Lady Vulpina and Korum, may I introduce you to Katrina! I have to admit that with your little rivalry and all … you know I was just surprised to see you here together!?“ he asks with a curious look on his face.

"Ah, simple. Kitsune have been seducing humans and having kitsune offspring with them all the way back to when Daikitsu's first runts walked the Earth. A bit tasteless, if you ask me. Of course, I imagine double-blind kitsune pairings have fascinating moments after the child is born. 'Why, Shigeru, our child sure seems to have a lot of fur! What a mystery that is.' 'Indeed,'" she continues in a deeper voice, "'let us ask no further questions of it.'"

The Lady Vulpina shrugs at Andor's question. "And you without a gangly teenager to stab! Unless...?" She gestures with an open palm toward Kat.

No no no. Go ahead. I have to admit I use Alter Self on occasion to change shape into .... erm ... merform.

Upon arrival, Katrina bobs a polite curtsy. Pleasure to meet you. May Desna grant you good fortune

She raises an eyebrow at the stabbing query but decides to let that one slide.

"Charmed," bobs Vulpina.

She taps her chin with a gloved hand and muses. "I am no devotee of the gods myself, but I will admit Desna to be one of the betters. Who does not benefit from pleasant dreams and fortunate outcomes?"

"Well, might I offer this in return: when fortune fails you, may your skillful hand make up the difference."

*grins* Why thank you very much. A skillful hand is very useful in some of my performances.

As things eventually wind down, Kenta exits stage left... or right... or. Well, he leaves the stage.

And goes and gets a stagecoach, pulled by one gorgeous mare and also another regular boring horse. He offers free local rides to hotels, homes, hostels or even campsites.

But most importantly, he keeps a close eye on the brides, ready to take them to their honeymoon suite.

The Lady Vulpina shrugs at Andor's question. "And you without a gangly teenager to stab! Unless...?" She gestures with an open palm toward Kat.

Andor breathes slowly as the comment clearly affects him.

He tries to ignore the discomfort.

"I am looking forward to seeing you again soon on a mission and hopefully we create more joyful memories together ... " he says to Lady Vulpina and then turns and bows to the Half-Orc paladin.

He also excuses himself from Kat and moves back to his siblings to make an exit as well.

The paladin watches Andor's withdrawal. With no small trace of sarcasm, "Well, it looks like he's dealing with that in a healthy way." He considers the fencer's behavior. "Still, he kept it together pretty well. Maybe that's a good sign. I mean, you do tend to bring out the worst in people V." He nods to Kat. "Nice to make your acquaintance."

The lady cannot help but let the edges of her mouth curl up ever-so-slightly.

"And yet, you can hardly get enough of me. Should that not be antithetical to your...?"

She gestures vaguely, as if to indicate her companion's entire person.

"Unless you are simply hoping that it flows both ways? Are you to make a devout of me yet, Korum?"

And pleasure to make yours as well Katrina replies. She glances in the direction Andor left. Curious

Anyway .. it appears that the party is winding down, so it is time I took my leave. Best wishes to you both.

She turns to walk away, snagging something from the buffet table on the way out.

Zaarah looks at Andor that just joined her again.

She grabs her black blade and starts talking in it's direction.

“Well, either I’m crazy or the couple completely ignored us!“ she says scratching her head and is still talking to the scimitar.

Kioshi just rolls his eyes at Zaarah’s strange behavior.

“Your statements are both true so an ‘or’ is not correct! I told you that real Kitsune can’t cope with us. Come on! We go!“ he says and touches his brother and sister. He casts a spell that makes them vanish with a soft plop.

Thanks for this thread GM SV! :) Happy marriage to the couple. And thanks to Kat for good memories and Lady V. for painful memories … ahhhh … :-/ The not so charismatic Katsu family says goodbye! :-D
