Also, Grenade Expert is a really cool class feature.
Damn right, it is! I have a Soldier I'm playing with that exact feature. He's with the Starfinders and I deliberately wrote him to have a plain and boring personality compared to the more eccentric members of the team! He quickly fell into the Team Dad role.

It is. I'm also a BIG fan of the experimental explosives option in the mechanic tree. makes me nostalgic for my pathfinder 1e goblin alchemist fire bomber, Kreeg. played him in the skull and shackles pirate themed adventure path and his chaotic butt ended up being the ship mascot. our ship's (christened 'The flaming Bastard') jolly roger was a goblin skull with a burning fuse coming out the top.
one time, when the captain got tossed out of a tavern, he picked him self up, dusted off and shouted, 'oh yeah! well i'm gonna go get my GOBLIN!"
the patrons all laughed.
so he got his goblin.
then there was the screaming and the running and the fire everywhere.
good times

God, now y'all are making me miss my old artificer. Tiny lil tinker gnome made an artillery cannon he called "Mortar-mer" that shot arcane charged shells that could level an entire forest. It was only ever brought out during long military battles in between adventures, but it was useful. The fun part was the shells were basically glorified grapeshot wads MacGyver'ed together from various bits of scrap and silverware, turning the cannon into a giant blunderbuss.
The final piece? He charged them with arcane power that he pulled from other minor magical items and the abilities of his party, giving it some elemental splash damage and enchanted the shells with illusion magic, making each shell look like a giant laughing gnome head tattooed with "Eat this!" all over its face.
Aahh, you were fun, Cuckoo. If I ever play you again, I'll be sure to roleplay you better and crazier.

i dont know how familiar you are with hero forge, but its a great tool for making character pictures. theyve got some great options if you want a 3d printed mini, even in color. and they just released color 2d standups printed in 3mm acryllic
I love Hero Forge! I use it to craft the visual reference for a lot of my characters because I'm not a good artist. I don't have the money or need to have minis like them though, but that could change in the future. I even have Asla made, with a link to her on her first in-character post.

i had one printed and a friend painted it before the put out the full color 3d print options. ive seen some reviews of the color prints and they look pretty ok. im REAL excited for the 2d color standees in acrylic, since those are going to print out looking a lot more like the character in the builder and bridge the gap nicely between cardboard minis you make yourself and the full 3d prints.
ive been using it for character portraits for a long time. (screen shots are free and ms paint 3d is my friend for snipping into a background)
their sci fi options unfortunately just dont quiiiiite fit my vision for steel tho. maybe i can fiddle with it...
theyve got some exciting new options coming soon. kitbashing parts around, resizing, lotsa stuff.

heres a link to the hero forge based image i am using for kreeg now. used paint 3d to cut him out and paste into a nice appropriate background image. this is pretty much what happened then our captain said "im gonna go get my goblin"

because im bored and feel the need to show off my characters, here's the duo of Keirann and Dominique. Bit of background. Pathfinder 1e game. But it's set in an apocalyptic world where centuries ago magic nearly destroyed the world and its now kind of like somewhere between 'dark sun' and 'fallout'. Metal is rare. Civilization as we know it is almost non existent. And magic is RADIATION. Yes casting spells is painful. Yes EVERYONE in the party is a spellcaster to one degree or another LOL.
Keirann is a spiritualist (his class) and is bound to a spirit of despair (his phantom), Dominique, who lived during 'the burning' when magic destroyed the world. As a result of having a despair spirit in his head all the time Keirann is -perpetually- depressed and feels the weight of the world on his shoulders and an oppressive responsibility to 'fix this mess.' Our party has been steadily doing just that and making progress, but we have the "Anazon Knights", who systematically hunt down and kill anyone with special abilities, breathing down our neck. Wouldn't be so bad if they didn't have horses, metal armor, and GUNS of all things (inspired by the brotherhood of steel from the fallout games).

so i first connected with Cul via facebook on a starfinder group where he posted wanting players. corresponded via fb messenger before joining the forum here. i dunno if its relevant but since then he's either deleted his fb acct or blocked me because suddenly it only shows him as unavailable. and no i hadnt been spamming him or anything heheh. so i dunno whats going on.

STLE 01 - Steel |

-sigh- i have not heard anything. im afriad we've been ghosted. which is really weird because he seemed very engaged at first. i had been corresponding with them via facebook off and on with art suggestions and whatnot for the ship and he was fine with all that. then suddenly hes gone from fb, which i think means he blocked me in this case. :(
i hope im just being cynical and nothing bad happened tho.

this makes me insanely sad. irl im kindof a forever gm and dont get to play much. play by post is one of the few ways i can get some play time in.
I feel your pain, my guy. It sucks too, cuz I'm new to both the Starfinder scene and the Play-by-post scene. I have absolutely no idea where to look for more campaigns like this one.
