Closing the gap between satyr and half-giant, Zaidel quickly crotches down next to Jonathan and casts stabilize.
I think that generates a AoO from nearby wolves.

Gin rushes over to Jon's limp form and takes down a wolf next to Zaidel. I am not sure where his last post went about running away, he has alot more hp than I thought.

Seeing that the wolves are somehow not scared away by his trumpet blast, Davin girds himself for battle with a quick conjuration spell. Casting Mage Armor, current AC is 23, Mage Armor makes it 27

Round 3

Davin charges one of the wolves attacking Matthew. 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (16) + 21 = 37 gore for 2d8 + 12 ⇒ (5, 1) + 12 = 18

If he can't get to Matthew, he'll direct his attacks at the nearest wolf.

Jean cackles to Dean, "We got them on the run Dean!"

Dean hisses back, "Hssss.." as two wolves flank and attack Jean but miss the small dragon. Jean returns with a flurry of claws and teeth. He snaps into a wolves neck and claws it as it falls beneath him before whirling and slashing the remaining wolf with his other claws.

They both miss. I kill one and do 6 damage to the second.

The Stranger moves over to your group standing in front of Gin and Jon, ready to take on more wolves that charge them.

More wolves show up but only three of them, though they are as large as a horse and are likely dire wolves. Its fangs are large and sharp as knives. The one in the center has glowing red eyes and it howls before the three of them charge the stranger.

GM, shouldn't Locke's attack hit? The wolves' AC is 14, so he hit, no? and I believe there's 9 wolves left around Davin, as he's killed 3? Also, I'm dumb and have two attacks a round, a gore and slam. I misread the stat block as either or.

Now that he's thinned a bit of the pack surrounding him, Davin takes a moment to analyze the wolves, trying to figure out what's corrupted them. 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 Arcana, no action.

He then continues to slaughter the wolves around. 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (4) + 21 = 25 gore for 2d8 + 12 ⇒ (4, 1) + 12 = 17

With my adjusted AC of 27, has Davin even been hit yet?

GM, unsure if it was missed but I got a 16 on my Arcana check to learn about what might have corrupted the wolves or why they are acting overly aggressive.


Davin:
The glowing eyes makes you believe that dire wolf is possessing the malevolent hive mind.

A few wolfs have bitten Davin, not many.

Round 7
Zaidel rushes over to the mastodon and skewers a wolf, though he does not drop it. Gin and Jade swing at both of the dire wolves again obliterating them. After Jade practically yells at him he backs up upon the bloody ground on hands and feet. He keeps both daggers in his hand and spits out, "I am Whisper, an adventurer, I have killed most of the black wolf clan for a quest. Are you Chosen?" He was about to talk about the mastodon then thought better of it.

Before Matthew gets half way to the wolves you see them all break off away from the mastodon, who can do an AoO to crush one of them.

End of combat.

"Unicorn, I didn't, oh you saw my cloak. I found the unicorn there and put my shroud or cloak, upon it. I am from the Death family so death is my thing. It was a form of last rights. I did not kill the unicorn." He stays calm and collected even with what appears to be a raging barbarian before him. He does continue to slowly back away.

Seeing Whisper and Jade about to start a new fight as soon as the old one ended, Zaidel takes out his new panpipes and plays a few notes to get everyone's attention.
"Everyone! I suggest we all take a moment to stop and sort this out without violence." Will DC 20
The satyr begins to help his co-hort and the hunter out of the trees, as he continues to speak.
"Not all of us are Chosen, but most of us are. My name's Zaidel and a cleric of Cayden Caliean. Nice job on the Black Wolf Clan quest. That cloak on the unicorn was our only clue as to how might have killed the unicorn. We're on the quest to retrieve the horn and hopefully revive her or him."

"Now. everyone please come closer for some healing." The caydenite holds his holy symbol in his hand and concentrates. "Three bursts."

if we want to finish this quest we have to go after those wolves, also name is Niversal. I like long walks on the beach, too much coffee, and whiskey. Time is wasting.

He runs off to get the wolves. Yelling back, "I will get them!" Soon you hear a howl go up from the forest.

It takes him about an hour to chase them down and find your group.

GM Wolf:
Off in the forest he makes a howl. Using his scent ability he tracks down the wolves. Once he kills one and no other wolf is in sight or scent, he stops and works on eating it.

Pipes (Su):
A satyr can focus and empower his magic by playing haunting melodies on his panpipes. When he plays, all creatures within a 60-foot radius must make a DC 20 Will save or be affected by charm person, fear, sleep, or suggestion, depending on what tune the satyr chooses. A creature that successfully saves against any of the pipes’ effects cannot be affected by the same set of pipes for 24 hours, but can still be affected by the satyr’s other spell-like abilities as normal. The satyr’s use of his pipes does not count toward his uses per day of his spell-like abilities, and if separated from them he may continue to use his standard abilities. "I will try to retell what I heard and saw. First I heard the death call of a horse. It piqued my interest and I went towards it. Then I got the quest to return the horn. This is where it gets tricky.
I heard movement around me but not infront of me where I saw the corpse. I couldn't see who or what was moving around, but I did see a pale lady over the unicorn with a horn in one hand and a glisten red dagger in the other. She looked at me and I went blind.
Once I recovered, there was little I could do, I preformed the last rites, layed my cloak and ventured South. I didn't see any tracks but from the unicorn."

Jon nodded to the other, signalling that the guy seemed to be on the level. "Alright. A pale lady who drove you blind." No tracks did create a problem, but maybe there was a clue somewhere. "What about hearing? Did you hear her move away?" The ground wasn't what could call delicate, but it was probably possible to move with some subtlety.


Niversal can think of hundreds of female creatures that it could possibly be. Maybe some evil fey lady though without more details it is hard to pinpoint what it was.

"No all I heard was the movement around me as if the wind itself embodied and moving around." He simply relays.

I'll likely care it always. Nobody escapes justice from such a heinous crime against nature and lives! "I get that you're p****d off, Zaidel," Jon said slowly, standing behind Angelica's shoulder to support her. "But as the dude whose gone down twice already, I'm thinking we scout this out first. We learn what we can, and get stronger if we need to. I'm not saying we don't fight. I'm saying we take the time to make sure we don't get to meet the Unicorn in person because she straight-up murders us. We need to know how to not, for example, go blind before we try and fight her. Angelica gives us advice and she knows this place better than us. I say we listen." The unicorn wasn't going to be any less dead in a week. Rushing would only see them getting killed.

Banshee's are Irish ghosts right? How would she cut off a horn or carry it once it was cut off if she was a ghost? And don't they wail at their enemies, not blind them? It might well be that the killer is the woman to the north. But it doesn't sound like the banshee's my family told me about." I used to be a professor of English Lit after my time in service before I retired to the woods. It depends what we are talking about but there are fae Banshee from the elves as well as those Irish ones and also a few other myths but the one closest to what our friend describes is a pale woman in a red dress who holds a bowl bowl of blood to feed the dead at the mounds. This is Celtic in nature.

Is Zaidel's 3x channels enough to heal Davin?

Shifting back into human form, Davin addresses their cleric. "Zaidel, I fully agree with you, and your anger. We do need to hunt down and bring to justice the person responsible for this heinous murder. But, Jon is also right. We should not run blindly(ha!) into yet another dangerous situation. He has already died once here, and we might not be able to bring him back should he do so again." The sorcerer says in reply to Zaidel, hoping to convince the satyr to see some sort of reason.

Turning to Jean, Davin continue. "You're right as well. Our current track record when it comes to scouting as been gods awful, but that's been in part because we've relied more or less solely on you to provide it. We're a party of Chosen adventurers, but so far, we've acted in pairs or in small groups instead of fully together."

He calls up the blue quest/info screen. "How many days are left for this quest? And are there any others nearby we can try to accomplish, before we attempt to confront the Banshee of the North?" He asks aloud.

Wolf, out of Arcana, Local, Nature, Planes, and Religion, which would be best to learn more about the Banshee of the North? I'll use my Exceptional Memory ability to take 20 on the check.


Your best guess Davin is k nature or k religion, k local would give you the rumors floating around on the subject.
