Arin moves to the center of the room, still looking away from the mirror.
[move] 20'
The little gnome begins an incantation that is now familiar to the group. As it ends, they all feel energized with extra... oomph.
[standard] Cast Blessing of Fervor on the entire party. Duration 8 rounds.
With this blessing, you call your allies to move forth and empower them to conquer and become victorious. Each round for the duration of this spell, each of your allies can choose one of the following bonuses for that round at the beginning of its turn (their choice).
* Increase its speed by 30 feet.
* Stand up as a swift action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
* Take one extra attack as part of a full attack action, using its highest base attack bonus.
* Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.
* Cast a single spell of 2nd level or lower as if it were an enlarged, extended, silent, or still spell. These effects are not cumulative with similar effects, such as those provided by haste or a speed weapon, nor do they actually grant an extra action, so you can't use it to cast a second spell or otherwise take an extra action in the round. Blessing of fervor does not stack with haste.

It may be time to break out the wands.
You hear a voice from the sheet of crystal you are carrying. "Who are you?"
A voice from where the remains of the screen stand replies, "Isirah Tana. Among others."
"Isirah... Tana? But then... what am I?"
“I tried to save a copy of myself on that device. But as you can see... the real me is quite intact.”
You now have fervor in addition to haste, and the haunt is weakened, but still active.
Rone, Shrec and Rhiannon are up!

Sense Motive Check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Seeing the screen destroyed, the paladin can hear the voice still coming from the ruined remains - and though she doesn't understand much of anything surrounding this 'technology' that the others have spoken of, still she can hear the tremors in the voice that gives away Isirah Tana's true feelings. "AI! Keep speaking to her! This Isirah Tana didn't know that you were still alive! Your words are having an impact, despite what she says!"
Then Rhiannon again turns to the flow of divine energy, trying to disrupt this 'haunt' alongside Arin.
Channel Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 6) = 10 (DC 16 Will save for 1/2 damage)

"But I am here," the sheet of crystal says. "You... I was successful."
"Surely not," the voice replies, "or I would not have been here all these years."

Fahd delays, realizing that simply destroying the room doesn’t seem to be having any effect at all on the strange voice.

cmlobue |

Shrec is healed, and the screen is very extremely broken.
You may want to review the rules for haunts. No amount of damage other than positive energy will help at this point.

![]() |

Grabbing a vial of holy water, Minata tried to see if that would help deal with the haunt.
Holy Water: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 172d4 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5

![]() |

Rhiannon, how many channels do you have left? Arin is out :/

![]() |

Rhiannon continues to channel what positive energy she has remaining...
Channel Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6 (DC 15 Will save for 1/2 damage)
Using Fervor this time, instead of LoH. As for your question Arin, I should have a total of three left, each of them doing 2d6 damage. I've used 4 LoH (2 for each channel) and two Fervor (again, 2 for each channel.) The Fervor has a slightly lower Will save since it uses her WIS modifier, but I'd rather not run entirely out of one or the other so I'm going to alternate at this point until all my uses are gone. Though actually I'll still retain one of each, as I've got an odd number of uses and I have to use 2 to channel.
That said... after being invited to look at the Haunt description, can we use a wand of healing to damage the thing? Or can Rhiannon use her single use LoH and/or Fervor ability to 'heal' it instead of just channeling? Then I could double the amount of damage I'm doing by just straight up using Fervor and/or LoH on the Haunt. If so, please consider that last 'channel' a use of 'Fervor' instead, if that's OK? And if wands will work, I've got a CLW want someone is welcome to use!

![]() |

If that works Arin has a lot of healing left. One other possibility: energy body which can be used to heal or harm undead. If the GM thinks this should work I'll switch over to it.

cmlobue |

Yes to holy water, yes to cure wands, yes to energy body. The haunt's location is the screen, even though the item itself is broken.
Minata smashes a vial of holy water on the screen. Although there is no physical effect, you can sense its pain.
Rhiannon continues channeling.

Fervor blessing: Increase its speed by 30 feet.
Blessing of Fervor round 3/8
Arin's little form begins to glow with a shimmery white outline. If you focus on it you think you see an iridescent pattern flowing through it. Slowly his body within glows brighter and brighter until it's indistinguishable from the overall glow, and you start to see golden flames lick from within.
Soon only a warm, golden-white fire elemental is left. However, instead of burning to the touch, it heals.
His form lands on Fahd and the positive energy soothes him while hopefully harming the haunt.
I think the haunt has to strike Arin to get the damage :/

Minata, Arin has a *lot* of healing; you could save your wand charges.

He then listens to Rone explain the situation, and then looks at the device they'd been carrying, with the consciousness trapped inside and asks So, how do we draw her out into that form?

cmlobue |

Arin (-4 HP)
Shrec (-1 HP)
Minata (-3 HP) - do you want to use the first charge from your wand to heal the last damage?
The voice of Isarah - at least, the one you are carrying - speaks up. "I remember... this is the Aerotech Synthesis Compound. Once, it created rare gases for technological operations. Now... now I don't know. But if the whole compound is affected, we will probably have to search more to find... the other me?"

There is a very short passageway from the exit to the next door, which leads to a long hallway with a door to the north and a metal lattice in the northwest.

![]() |

No problem. Such is the role of a Life Mystery Oracle :)
As he is healing his teammates, Arin's common speech returns as the stress of battle has lifted.
He follows Rone into the long hallway and stares down the two doors.
Detect magic on both doors.
Perception, traps, North door: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Perception, traps, East door: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
He talks to the voice in the box again.
Do you recall if the doors tended to be trapped, or otherwise guarded?

cmlobue |

"Traps? Stars,no! Why would we trap a place where we worked? If there are any, they were installed after my... mishap."
And indeed, you do not notice any traps. However, the metal lattice prevents access to part of the corridor. Beyond, a large cylindrical device whirs faintly, drawing in air.

cmlobue |

Correct. You can see but not (currently) reach C4.

![]() |

”Ask the voice in the box if there is a way through this that we can’t see.”

cmlobue |

"I can hear you just fine, you know," Isirah answers. "This is an air recycler. Don't know why you'd want to go there, unless you want to repair it - it is running below capacity."

cmlobue |

"The machine is pretty big, but unless you're made of air, I don't think you'll be able to go through it."

![]() |

Place of work. No traps. Got it. However, you know better than us where danger is here. Do let us know about that. Okay, so we don't need to repair the "air machine." Let's go this way.
Arin carries the voice in the box forward and heads West towards where the corridor turns South. He stops at that corner and looks.

cmlobue |

Arin, I think I was not clear enough about the corridor. The two strips of light gray on the map are barriers that prevent passage through the corridor by anything your size. Also, I need your boon roll.

![]() |

Oh, darn it. That’s what everyone meant by lattice. Sorry about that.
