"Well, we finally made it!" Mun calls out as he and Selune finally enter the room. He happily uses everyone's various healing and restoration wands to bring everyone back to battle readiness.
Pig, you can roll your own lesser restoration rolls.
He then begins poking around, looking for anything not obvious on first inspection. Was there a post describing the room? That often gets lost at the start of combat, and I can't find that post now.

The western half of this chamber is made into a pair of large cells with rusted iron bars, their doorway long ago having rusted off their hinges. Strewn throughout are piles of moldering straw, cloth, and other bits of garbage, piled up to form giant nests. Across from them, an ancient wooden table stands in the center of the room, covered in rotting flesh and fungus, surrounded by a swarm of flies.
Mun spots something in the pile of filth on one of the severed hands, but you'll have to dig through filth to get it! Fort save vs disease!

"The Ratfolk female in the next room had a number of magic items and at least one active spell effect.
I think it likely that she is a spellcaster, and the Alchemical Golem is her creation and guardian.
I propose to, when we see the current position of her and the golem, Dimension Door some of the warriors past the golem to engage her in melee.

"Closing on the alchemisht is a good plan, but beware the golem! You shay it needs adamantine or bludgeons to destroy. Khugron's weapon is well suited to fighting it, but all our warriors save for Pig have bludgeons.
I musht shtand with my shtudents, whatever trials they face. I can grapple a mage effectively. Golems not so much. But the magic-user will want range. She will have heard this fight. She will be ready. It would be ideal if we can send a scout."

I have no means of invisibility, nor am I a Scout. I'm not as noisy as some of the other warriors, but we can still approach cautiously while the others surprise the Alchemist... I only have a +5 to stealth.

While someone gets the items, Aroden considers what the Arcane Eye saw.
"There were also two rat demons and two dire rats along with the caster or alchemist. Therefore, we will want those with the best defenses up there, as there could be many attacks.
So let me revise my plan.
I will take Pig, Vrothum, and Poh. I will place Pig and Vrothum just east of the throne, and Poh and I at the top of the stairs.
I will see to my own defenses as best as possible."
Aroden draws and drinks a potion of Reduce Person. He shrinks to the size of a halfling. He reads a scroll of Protection from Evil.
Now AC 25 vs Evil foes, or 26 once he casts Haste. Not terrible for a wizard. Plus 6 Mirror Images and Bodyguard from Poh.
Once everyone is ready, he will (1st round) cast Haste from a scroll and draw his sword while Team Golem moves down the hall, then (2nd round) cast Dimension Door.
@Khugron - do you want to Enlarge again? With Haste, you could still move down the hallway with a double move even while squeezing.

Moved Mun and Selune to the end of the hallway; without knowing the position of enemies, I can't move them any further into the room. I've marked off castings of mirror image, bull's strength, and shield of faith as noted in discussion.

Until you get in the room, you don't know positions of enemies. But entering the room triggers initiative, so stopping there is appropriate.

As Khugron, Mun and Selune round the corner, they see the room before them. This vast chamber contains a number of tables, shelves, and crates covered in alchemical equipment, much of which appears to be in use. Flasks bubble and boil, emitting strange smoke, while other bits of strange glassware contain liquids that seem to shift color at random intervals. In the center of it all is a tall statue made of steel, bedecked with odd crystal vials, tubes, and jars, bubbling with glowing green liquid. They also spot a rickety construction of glass tubing, metal, and wood convey the brain and two eyes afloat in this figure’s glass skull. However, it's not collapsed in a heap, it's standing and reared back to strike!
At the same time, there is a soft POP and the remaining heroes appear on the floor above! A wide chamber overlooks the laboratory below. There are
a number of nests scattered around this area, made up of scraps of cloth, broken bits of wood, and other filth. One such nest is larger than the other two, and in the center of it is an ancient gilded chair, cracked and ruined, but held together with lengths of rope and nails. They see no sign of the creatures Aroden's eye spotted earlier!

Aroden's FF AC is 21 at the moment (+4 Mage Armor, +4 Shield, +2 Deflection, +1 size), so the Nat 1 doesn't even come close enough to pop an image.
The 17 does, so Aroden is down to 5 images.
For the 24...1 it hits Aroden 2-6 it hits an image: 1d6 ⇒ 2
The claw pops another image (down to 4).
Generally, stairs are not counted as Difficult Terrain unless they are especially steep.
Aroden would like to 5' step SE, use Inspiring Sword, and ask Pig to take his place.
