Game Master DoubleGold

Map is up

A Terrible Curse has fallen upon the city Kibwe in the Mwangi Expanse and it targets humans, turning them into oozes. Other races can be carriers and but do not succumb to the curse.
Investigate and eliminate this curse.

Okay, so what am I looking for? 5 brave adventures to go this adventure.
Submissions will be open till October 31st and will be done by party diversity and writing of a good background. I won't be checking your play history, just because you did horrible roleplay in the one or two games I looked up, doesn't mean you do horrible roleplay here, or the best roleplay, etc. You could have been sick during that month or busy with family. However, I probably have played with some of you before, and I sometimes do go off of that.

Character Creation
First off, no humans. This includes Half-Elf and Half-Orcs. You will immediately be turned into an ooze.
Any other races are okay, I'll approve of most things. While other races cannot succumb to the curse completely, other races can be Clumsy, Stupified, Enfeebled or Drained up to a value of 2 and only one condition at a time because of the curse and you are definitely a carrier of it when this happens.
Level 5 with 1 4th level magic item, 2 3rd level magic item, 1 2nd level magic item, 3 first level magic items and 80 gold to spend. Only 1 magic item can be uncommon or rare. The 4th level magic item can be uncommon but not rare. (Notice how I gave you a little extra than what the table chart has you, it has 2 first level magic items and 50 gold to spend)

Will you approve Automaton race?

Not even PFS society approves of it, I'm afraid to say yes and find out why they don't allow it. If you want to be a robot, Android is fine.
Edit: Actually it could be because that race is new, guns and gear, I'd rather not playtest things.
You can be the Gunslinger or Inventor Class, and you can use the Combat Gear or Guns in that book, but not any of that other weird stuff they have, like the races, Archetypes and whatnot. Backgrounds are fine

Gunslingers and Inventors treat all uncommon items in that book as if they are common, all other classes treat that stuff in that book as if they are uncommon.

Roger that, thanks for the quick response

I'm interested. I'll have to look through the Mwangi book and see what sparks interest for race/class.

Liberty's Edge

Dotting for interest! Going to work on a gnome inventor with a construct companion. :D

Preliminary idea

Ancestry: Catfolk
Background: Deputy
Class: Gunslinger (Drifter)

Brainiac's inventor, reporting in! All the crunch is done. I'll write up a backstory a little later.

I'm interested in this! Not only a Mwangi Expanse game, but a non-human one as well. I'm thinking of a grippli rogue (scoundrel's racket) that comes to Kibwe as a trader. He'd be very extroverted (for a grippli) and that's why he's been tasked with being the tribe's trader. Depending on the season, he'd be in town with animal hides, seeds, fruits, etc. looking to exchange them for material from the wider region, like the Screaming Forest or the Bandu Hills. He lives about four days north of Kibwe. I don't have a name yet for him.

Grippli is fine, and would be interesting, considering frog people aren't seen in many pathfinder society games, so you'd be treated as a foreigner, but with respect.

I want to try a Taralu Dwarf Monk/Barbarian, a wandering acolyte of the Sky Keeper pantheon (Apsu, Ranginori and Uvuko). I know there isn't a Player's Guide for this adventure since it isn't a full AP, but does the adventure have any recommendations for how to build a character that will fit well?

Still working on the crunch, but Kisharn is an Iruxi Swashbuckler. Hatched and reared in Kibwe, he mostly works as a performer, but he's gotten in enough trouble on various tours across the Expanse to qualify as "adventurer". While his kin are of course not affected by the curse, others in his troupe and most of his potential audience are!

I'm currently digging through magic items. Does an uncommon weapon count as our one uncommon magic item? I'm looking at a dueling spear as an appropriate Battledancer weapon.

Here is Eegkokirro, a grippli plant whisperer rogue. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know. The only thing I haven't completed is the mundane equipment. Thanks for considering him.

BACKGROUND
------------------------------
Eegkokirro enjoys cultivating plants and fungi. He likes taking cutting from trees during his travels to propagate them at his village. He searches for new seeds to grow and knows a few people in Kibwe's surrounding region who will save him seeds. He also travels to other grippli villages to learn any new cultivation techniques they may have developed or to exchange seeds.

The members of Eegkokirro's village serve for two years in going to Kibwe two or three times a year. Eegkokirro enjoyed going so much he volunteered to continue porting trade goods. For seven years he's been going to Kibwe up to four times a year.

Eegkokirro is also a valuable defender of the village. When a bilokos raiding party absconded with a dozen children, Eegkokirro was one of the key people responsible for returning the children. After that raid he and some others built more defensive snares around the village. He's fought bandits, asanbosam, karina, and numerous animals in the region of Kibwe. He usually takes an extra day or two before returning home from Kibwe to make sure he wasn't followed by bandits. Such precautions have been rewarded on more than one occasion. For the wedding ceremony that united his village with another one, Eegkokirro taught a line dance to his village to perform as part of the festivities.

He is proficient at trapping animals and extracting their venom without killing them.

His best non-grippli friend is a leshy who lives ten miles to the east of the village.

Others
1. Elbowtotheface (background please)
2. thejeff (partial background/personality done)
3. Acree667 (background please) (Answer to your question, it is a tad bit of a horror theme. I did mention that humans are turned to oozes, so you know oozes will be in it, if nothing else).

I'll give everyone a day or two to finish up their characters, but I accept no new submissions.

Added a short backstory for Lani. I think she's good to go.

Is this good for background?

Almaka Rorun:
Almaka Rorun was born into the Zaphyrie Clan in the Mwangi Jungle. Orphaned at a young age, they were taken in by the monks of the Sky Keepers, who instilled in them a deep faith in the gods Apsu, Ranginori and Uvuko. From Apsu, they learned the importance of protecting others and helping them stand on their own feet; from Ranginori, they learned to value travel and freedom; and from Uvuko, they learned to embrace change and the future. They also learned to channel the grace and ferocity of the venerable cloud dragons through martial arts.

Almaka spent much of their time growing up at the Shrine of All-Faiths in Zaphyrie, learning about the various divinities of Golarion, but they never wavered in their devotion to the Sky Keepers. As a young adult in their 30s, they left their village to live as a wandering mendicant monk, helping others and spreading the word of the Sky Keepers to those interested in listening.

As is typical of the Taralu, Almaka is honest and kind. They will always seek a peaceful resolution before engaging in battle. However, an electric energy crackles within them, and this can lead them to act quickly without thinking things through, despite their best efforts to keep to their people's oath of patience. They are prone to following flights of fancy and becoming distracted while traveling, drawn by an almost childlike curiosity. And when they must join combat, they become intensely focused and difficult to sway.

They are also an excellent chef, well-versed in a number of cuisines from around Garund, and keep plenty of spices on their person at all times.

Also think I'm gonna change their Heritage to Elemental Heart Dwarf, poison resistance could be useful in this campaign but it's not as thematic!

Elbowtotheface, sorry, but you didn't have the background done, you choose a background, but you didn't write a background, even if it was a few sentences.

Yay! Thanks for accepting me. :) It’s Arcee by the way, pronounced like R-C.
