That sounds fine. I firmly believe Raban will be back.

I'm actually tickled that our DM is doing another round of recruitment. I've been in so many campaigns that have been abandoned that I constantly worry about every active one I am in.
A nice campaign that also shows resilience? I'm as happy as a pig in slop. Kudos to the Crusade!

GM of the Crusade |

I’m committed to finishing as much as we can! I don’t mind doing another round of recruitment as long as the players are here and invested as well.
Speaking of, do you think taking two members is correct, or should I just be looking for one? Raban will be coming back eventually (I talked to him on discord), so I can just adjust encounters down to three players for now.
Also, I’ll get a gameplay post up when I’m off work describing the handwave of this encounter as well as the trip back to the mongrel city. Oh yeah and the short exploration of that side passage that had water in it.

Anastasia Armat |

I think two is the safe bet. Worst case scenario you have twenty-five percent more players. Alternatively, if we just take one we're at risk of being right back where we started.

Anastasia Armat |

Well, at the very least there is a kobold applicant. That's always good. I will hug them, and squeeze them, and call them George.

Ayaal |

Delighted to be playing with you folks!
I believe there was some chat about possibly needing some rogue-y skills. With a change of trait and spending my cash a little differently, I could make Ayaal a decent lock-picker, if that helps.
GM, I built Ayaal on a uMonk Zen Archer (it's in Hero Lab but is not Paizo official). I prefer the uMonk but if you want to stay with the Paizo-blessed version, I can retool her quickly. If you are willing to consider the uMonk version, here are the differences.
All features are identical except for...
Zen Archery
> Monk loses Maneuver Training (3rd)
> uMonk loses Ki Strike (3rd)
Point Blank Master
> Monk loses Still Mind at 3rd
> uMonk loses Still Mind at 4th
Trick Shot
> Monk loses Diamond Body (11th)
> uMonk loses Ki Power (12th)
Ki Focus Bow
> Monk loses Tongue of Sun & Moon (17th)
> uMonk loses Ki Power (16th)

I think I'll keep it as being tied to the base monk. I've heard some crazy stories about them in normal games, let alone mythic games like this one.
On that note, I'm looking into some of the mythic changes people have come up with to help balance it a little bit, and will most likely have at least some. Want to keep it somewhat balanced between mythic and gestalt and now five eventual players. WIll be a nightmare later, I'm sure!
Don't worry, I'll be up front and let you know what changes will be made, as I don't want to trap you into taking something that is nerfed when you don't want to.

I've played both Monk and uMonk Zen Archers and I've never seen a serious disparity in how they play or their damage potential. That said, I'm not an uber-optimizer so I don't build characters to be insane damage dealers. Perhaps I'm just not seeing all the loopholes and tricks that can be deployed. That's just my two cents on the class. I'll rebuild Ayaal using the regular monk.

I played one mythic game by the base rules and it can become a bit of 'rocket-tag' especially for the combat-focused mythic paths. For Ayaal, I'm likely to have her go with the Hierophant path.

On second thought, let’s just leave her as is. I’m okay with changing my decision later, if it becomes a problem.
And yeah, rocket tag is exactly what I want to try and avoid as much as I can. But this is my first mythic game, so we’ll be adjusting stuff on the fly!
I don’t think the group has many stealth/pickpocket type skills, so it might be a good idea to get some. But I don’t think it’s super necessary if you don’t want to.

Ayaal is done. Hopefully, a Disable Device +9 is good enough at this level. If it needs to be a bit higher, let me know.
It looks like the newbs are going to need an invite to the campaign on Roll20.

Anastasia Armat |

To be fair, Anastasia has perception and disable device as class skills as well. She just doesn't have the best modifier.

Anastasia Armat |

Should be able to tend to Anastasia tommorow. Posting might skip a beat this month as it is literally the busiest time of year at my job, but I promise I won't vanish.

Anastasia Armat |

One part concern over their heritage, two parts curiosity about tails and bird eyes.

Anastasia Armat |

Polite and prestigious alchemist? Absolutely. Andoran enough to troll a noble? Guilty...

Anastasia Armat |

Want to apologize for my short absence. I have been sick all month, and working overtime worsened it recently. Then, as if that wasn't enough I wrenched my neck over the weekend. I should have taken the time to give a heads up, but never considered I would have a run of misfortune all together.

All good! Glad to have you back.
I'm going to throw up a map of Kenabres as you see it once you leave the sewers in a link in the campaign description, with all the info left on it. It's easier that way, for me and you. The white dotted line and areas A through H16 is the route you took from the disaster at Armasse all the way under the city to the exit at H16.
There are a number of notable locations lettered on the map, and I'll let you know of the ones you know about:
I: Blackwing Library, where Aravashnial wants to be taken
J: Gwerm Manor, where Horgus demanded to be escorted
K: Tirabade Residence: Anevia's home, wants to go there to check on her wife
L: Topaz Solutions: cultist hideout
M: Nyserian Manor: cultist hideout
N: Tower of Estrod: cultist hideout, password “I’ve new material for the archives”
O: Defender's Heart: the biggest inn in Kenabres before the fall
P: The Grey Garrison: museum that holds a lot of crusader artifacts and relics

GM of the Crusade |

Ayaal has prayed... and the Roll20 Gods say "Not authorized" to play in this game. :)
Might I suggest divine intervention?
Oh the link doesn't work? Here, have an invite code.

Thanks, that worked!
Second issue... I can't create a character sheet or upload an icon for Ayaal to the gameboard. I'm having the same issue with Rajuna in the other game. If you've got it locked down, that's fine. I can email you the icons if that is your preferred method.

Ayaal |

That works. Here they are.

Ayaal |

Sorry! I don't use google docs much. You have the power!

Ayaal |

Oops, got that wrong. We look closest to:
I (Blackwing Library - Aravashnial's goal)
M (Nyserian Manor - Cults R Us) might be on the other side of a wall
J (Gwerm Manor - we can leave Horgus)
K (Tirablade Home - Anevia's goal)
O (Defender's Heart)
P (Grey Garrison Museum)
P is off on it's own.
It looks like we could go I to J to K to O without having to cross through any walls.

Yes, I apologize. I will get some posting up in the morning. Things have been rough here. I should be back to regular posting again.

Anastasia Armat |

Seems to reason we can hit objectives on our way to a safe place to rest.

Angahaar |

Sure! It’s a silviculture class, essentially learning the ideal ways to grow trees to meet certain land management and timber objectives. It was a super interesting class, but had some really tough assignments and exams.
