Advance Repelled: Each PC begins the encounter in area J (the next part) with 20 temporary Hit Points.
Please remind me in case I forget to include it on your initiative block at the next encounter.
GM Doug H |
We actually handed that one out before, I forgot to delete it from the slide. Only the inspiration one is left.
GM Doug H |
Hero point to Grum for surviving dicebot's sudden hatred of barbarians.
I believe I have given each PC one hero point at this point.
The overseer will be kicking off the final part tonight, so please be ready.

His courage inspired by the progress of the other Pathfinder teams, Haechi decides to return the favor. Putting on his best Watcher-Lord Ulthun theater voice, he booms out, "Onward my friends! Do not slacken. We've almost defeated the Thorned Monarch and their minions."
...
□ Timely Inspiration
A fellow Pathfinder grants the benefits of a bard’s inspire courage focus cantrip to all PCs for 3 rounds (a +1 status bonus to attack rolls, damage rolls, and saves against fear effects).
Boosted?: Yes
GM Doug H |
Neither am i
Looks like no one is. If only Grum could scream at people to "inspire" them with intimidation :p

No action, just a table consensus or quorum. Good luck you all!

I'll be traveling Friday and Saturday and I might be in areas of poor reception so I'm sending a copy of my current character to Algrim who has agreed to bot me so that I don't delay gameplay. Hopefully that won't be an issue, but I like having back up plans.

Poison nearly kills Eliander on the spot, but he manages to get out of cloud, though he coughes blood. He casts Mirror image.
Don't forget your hero points! There are also aid tokens you can use as a free action, the ones you have available are on slide 3.
GM Doug H |
I passed the Fort save so I should still have 7 of my temp HP.
The DC is 27. You rolled a 26.
Please spend a hero point if you want or let me know what I missed!
With the 11 healing you are back to -0 if you take the fail. I want to count the healing after grum resolves his turn though.

DC 27 basic Fort vs 26 poison , DC 21 Ref vs Entangle
Perhaps it's confusing because it's "DC 27 vs 26 damage."
You can use the hero point if you want to try and reel, roll it here and I will adjust your HP. I want to be careful and make sure we run this combat equitably; honest mistakes happen.
GM Doug H |
I just noticed the message from Tyranius for the healing token. Can we use that again?
You can use it whenever you like.
Tables can use Aid Tokens they receive from other tables whenever they like, and they can use any number in the same encounter. Each Aid Token can be used only once.
GM Doug H |
Hero point to Algrim for soloing the King in Thorns so far.
GM Doug H |
Algrim don't forget to make a fort save at the end of your turn. You still have poison stage 2 from the grimstalkers.
The order of operations as I understand it is saves vs repeated exposures (you passed), then conduct your turn (which you posted), then save at the end to see what happens (success reduces stage by 1 and crit by 2, failure brings you to 3).
GM Doug H |
Forgot to move the poison cloud for a couple rounds but have done so now.
Yeah this fight is brutal, Berwick. It's supposed to be Severe.
Don't forget you all have consumables as noted on Slide 4. These include 1 moderate elixir of life per PC.
Berwick Winetrout |
I appreciate that this fight is brutal but my d20 rolls are abnormally low, consecutively. I track them because this has become all too usual for me when playing in PBP on these boards. I'm currently averaging 7.4 on all my d20's, well below the 10.5 statistical mean. Out if the 42 d20 rolls I've made since we began this scenario, only 12 of mine have been above 10. Subtracting the 10's from that number, because 10.5 is the statistical mean, only 10/42 have been above average. If this were indeed a fair and impartial RNG that number should be closer to 21/42. This is par for my course.

The aura won’t stack with itself regarding the other effects.

Grum continues having an awful day. Crit fail Synesthesia is a bad time…
Remind's him of his younger days while at the Belkzen shaman. They used herbs while performing his scarification process
GM Doug H |
That's a big heal, and probably timely since the Monarch is quite annoyed with this wizard…
GM Doug H |
Side note that Enervate is not 4d8 with half on failure, but 2d8 / 4d8. Strictly speaking they are two separate rolls.

should no longer be stunned, since I lost the 2 actions last turn
Grum tosses his javelin at the King.
20 ft away + 20 ft high...equals just under 30ft. So still in first range increment
[dice=vs concealment DC 5]d20
[dice=javelin toss]d20+12
[dice=damage]2d6+9
start bleeding again your highness, d12The javelin returns to the barbarians hand, only to be tossed again.
[dice=vs concealment DC 5]d20
[dice=to hit]d20+7
[dice=damage]2d6+9He then roars in rage, trying to demoralize the King.
[dice=intimidate]d20+15
If Grum is stunned 2 he loses 2 actions this turn (he only gains 1 action), then he reduces the value by 1 so he can regain 2 next round, etc. So all he can do as far as I understand it is throw the javelin once.

I understand that I was stunned, however, I paid the stunned penalty the turn previous by only drawing my javelin.
Stunned also has the following text. Bolded for emphasis.
You've become senseless. You can't act while stunned. Stunned usually includes a value, which indicates how many total actions you lose, possibly over multiple turns, from being stunned. Each time you regain actions (such as at the start of your turn), reduce the number you regain by your stunned value, then reduce your stunned value by the number of actions you lost. For example, if you were stunned 4, you would lose all 3 of your actions on your turn, reducing you to stunned 1; on your next turn, you would lose 1 more action, and then be able to use your remaining 2 actions normally. Stunned might also have a duration instead of a value, such as “stunned for 1 minute.” In this case, you lose all your actions for the listed duration.
Stunned overrides slowed. If the duration of your stunned condition ends while you are slowed, you count the actions lost to the stunned condition toward those lost to being slowed. So, if you were stunned 1 and slowed 2 at the beginning of your turn, you would lose 1 action from stunned, and then lose only 1 additional action by being slowed, so you would still have 1 action remaining to use that turn.
So I was stunned two, lost two actions. Reduce stunned by number of actions lost, to stunned 0, no longer stunned.
Will hold off on posting my next action until you respond. Hopefully, fingers crossed, my allies can finish them off.
GM Doug H |
Oh right you had a turn. That's where I got mixed up. It went by so fast :p
Well the second javelin missed and I will reduce the DC on Cone of Cold as appropriate.
Net/net this is luckily a minor fix and you should take your turn with all actions.
GM Doug H |
Of course! I'm glad you caught that. Grum has suffered enough.
GM Doug H |
You have won.
We can run an optional combat if you like; you have "just over" 10 minutes to heal up before I send another wave in if you choose to do so. This is totally optional, however. We probably have 4-5 days in the special left before the special is concluded.
Grum Skoljar |
Seeing all of Grum's conditions should be healed within that time, I am up for it. But would rather wait until our casters chime in. They have a more limited number of resources.
Berwick Winetrout |
So I have no heal or harm fonts remaining. I have one healing spell which is Sooth and it is stored in my gloves. I can still provide heals in combat using Battlefield Medicine and have the 4d4 charge of Vital Beacon left. I do have several offensive and defensive spells remaining, but im almost tapped out as far as heals go. I'm willing to risk it for the biscuit. I'll heal 10 hp over 10 min and can attempt a natural medicine check on Eliander to get him closer to full as he is the lowest health wise.
GM Doug H |
I’ll set up a combat this morning. Assuming Elainder is in as he hasn’t spoken up otherwise.
