GM Doug H |
Hey there!,
Happy to pick his one up. If you haven't played with me before, please take a moment to glance at my GM profile and review style and expectations; it's mostly standard stuff.

SIGNING IN
1. Sign in on RPG Chronicles for chronicle generation and reporting.
2. Put your token on the maps & character reference slides.
3. Enter your Perception, default Exploration Activity, and any secret rolls you want me making for you on the macros sheet.
GM Doug H |
I swapped the slides and macros sheet links, oops. I'm sure you can figure it out… it all needs to be filled in anyway!
Please note that the Character Reference contains the info on previous scenarios this PC has played.

Done
So its been a while since I have done presentations and forgot how to change my token to a circle...
Also, two glyphs. Maybe 3 by the time we start. Will wait a bit to see who else we have to determine who gets them. I usually just hand them out to the healer and another low level character.

How to make a round token
Slides has an Image Mask option in the top menu.
1. Select the image
2. Select the Mask dropdown and select the circle shape option (or whatever other shape you want)
3. Add a border to the now-masked image
4. Select weight and color

I've PM'd our 4th, who can hopefully sign and dot in before we start about 7 hours from now. (5PM PST)
Looks like everyone else is here! Yay! We can distribute hero points while getting underway.

The 4th (Ansen) is a friend of mineHe has been feeling a bit under the weather but I am sure he will be joining us.
Also I do have a hero point to give out that I will give it to Grum.
Ansen of the Red Temple |
Heya, sorry bout that. Been fighting a nasty cold and it’s wiped me out the past week. I will be trying to get all situated ASAP.
GM Doug H |
No prob. I am ok if we’re still finalizing stuff for the next day, as long as we’re eeady before the house gm kicks off the next part.
I will review aid tokens tonight as well.
GM Doug H |
Aid Tokens
Each table beings with four Aid Tokens the players can pass to other tables at different points during the event. These starting tokens represent extra help that their PCs give to those of other tables, so a table cannot use its own tokens. Before passing a token, one PC at the table can perform a particular action to boost the effect. If they succeed, check the Boosted box on the Aid Token; no matter what, record the name of the PC. The table can attempt an action to boost an Aid Token only once. If it’s easier, the Table GM may wish to have players roll for all boosts during mustering.
Tables can use Aid Tokens they receive from other tables whenever they like, and they can use any number in the same encounter. Each Aid Token can be used only once.
Your target DC to boost a token is 25.
There is an Aid token reference on Slide 4.
Other Pathfinders assist your attack, increasing the damage you deal by the listed amount.
To Boost: Succeed at an attack roll against an AC equal to the target DC in the table below.
Boosted Effect: Increase the damage dealt by 1d6.
A fellow Pathfinder heals all the PCs by the listed amount.
To Boost: Cast one spell with the healing trait or succeed at a Medicine check against the listed DC.
Boosted Effect: Increase the healing by 1d8.
A fellow Pathfinder grants the benefits of a bard’s inspire courage focus cantrip to all PCs for 1 round (a +1 status bonus to attack rolls, damage rolls, and saves against fear effects).
To Boost: Succeed at a Performance check against the listed DC.
Boosted Effect: Increase the duration by 2 rounds.
Gain the benefits of an automatic success on a check to Recall Knowledge.
To Boost: Attempt an Arcana, Nature, Occultism, or Religion check against the listed DC.
Boosted Effect: Gain the benefits of an automatic critical success.

We want to pass an aid token during this introduction part.
Please let me know which token you'd like to pass and make the check here, in the discussion.

Thanks! Guys let's return the favor and pass a token back to Tyranus's table. Give me a roll to boost for any one of the 4 tokens here and I will pass it.

Also, I need one more bookkeeping thing from past scenarios: Grum, Algrim, and Eliander: I need to know whether you have the Blood Offering Boon from Perennial Crown part 1. I added that to the slide but you can also let me know here.
GM Doug H |
All good — thank you for stepping up. The intro moves fast!

Yes, I have that.
Arcana to boost: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27
Ansen of the Red Temple |
I hate to do this, but this cold has left me barely able to stay conscious. I don’t want to hold folks up, so I think I will need to back out. Sorry y’all…
GM Doug H |
Thanks.
Please remove yourself from the con sign up sheet so the organizers know you are dropping. Feel better!
—
I am in contact with the house gm and other 7-8 gm on finding a replacement. Hoping we can rotate in a player from the other table.
GM Doug H |
I removed ansen from the con spreadsheet for the organizers. We should be ok to carry on with 4.
GM Doug H |
Murderous plants sounds fun to me
I’ll have it up in the morning.
GM Doug H |
Could we have had our weapons out on the way here?
Trying to keep OOC here and it applies to all other combats we will have.
You may have weapons out every time as a default unless told otherwise. You know you are going to dangerous locales.
Grum Skoljar |
It has been a while since I have played Grum and it is hard enough to remember in F2F, PBP will be a nightmare.
Grum has Battle Cry. With a +17 intimidation to demoralize.
Do not think it mattered much for this one anyway since it looks like we started out further than 30 feet.
GM Doug H |
Grum has Battle Cry. With a +17 intimidation to demoralize.
Added to the initiative macro sheet; this way you don't have to remember.
Yeah they were over 30' away this time. All's well.
GM Doug H |
For next round. Since the big bush has me grabbed, can I attack it even if it is not adjacent to me?
I don't think you can attack limbs only in PF, so you would have to be within reach of the creature's token as it appears on the map.
You can always escape, of course. DC is in the high 20s.
GM Doug H |
Berwick moves away from the shrubbery and casts another two action healing font, this time at Eliander.
[Dice= 2 action heal] 4d8+32"I'm running low on directed healing spells. Remember you can always lay hands on me and receive healing if you are hurt." he reminds his allies.
Don’t forget your healing token too. It will heal everyone. You won't have a rest until part 2.
This is probably one of the hardest encounters in part 1 as well.
Grum Skoljar |

Sorry for the confusion. The attack/demoralize was an either or option. Do not have enough actions left to do both.
If the ginger root was still up after the power attack, I would swing again. Which it was.
The demoralize was only if the ginger root was dropped.
So the bush would not be frightened, unfortunately.
GM Doug H |
Thanks. I caught that too but after my edit window. Little distracted today; your post was totally clear. I appreciate it.
GM Doug H |
Unlike battle medicine treat wounds is immune to ALL instances of treat wounds. ("The target is then temporarily immune to Treat Wounds actions for 1 hour") so you need to wait the hour and roll again for Grum unless you have something like continual recovery.
Another hour will not have an effect on anything so go for it.
Also don't forget to pick the next target; we want to keep moving to contribute successes to the schedule. I hope to be on the next encounter no later than tonight (PST).
Eliander Underhill |
Mushroom ring is fine.
GM Doug H |
Hero point ot Berwick for the healing in the last encounter, and finding the mushroom ring.
Scratch that Berwick has 2 still. Giove one to our necromancer for getting picked on so bad by that horrible drainberry bush.
GM Doug H |
Realized I pasted in my init block without hitting sort. Updated now. Bold is up!
GM Doug H |
Wouldn’t have mattered here, but all PCs should adjust their macros sheet accordingly if beeded.
Algrim Panaryn |
I have Disrupt Prey that has a Trigger of Your hunted prey is within your reach, and it uses a manipulate action, uses a move action, or leaves a square during a move action it’s using. Would that vanish count?
GM Doug H |
Sadly no, the reaction has none of those traits (fire, primal, transmutation). It’s in all the squares; it turned into the smoke.
Yeah it’s kind of bs. At least it takes the damage from the triggering strike.
GM Doug H |
Berwick, don’t you have a +16 nature? A 12 on the die +16 would have instantly disabled the trap. Happy if you want to retcon your turn if you missed something. Just let me know here. I don't want this to turn into another overly punishing encounter with multiple cats.
Berwick Winetrout |
I do, but I assumed I needed to move closer to manipulate the mushrooms so that took an action. I wanted to continue to keep Bless up so I had to use an action to concentrate on the spell. By the time I reached the mushroom portal I only had a single action left, and it takes two actions to use nature to interfere with the portal. So I took a swing with my healing stick on the off chance I would Crit. No such luck. So next round I will attempt a nature check and concentrate on Bless for my three actions.
