Ok, sounds fair. I wanted to double-check that the player understood the mechanics before proceeding. Neither of you even hit the shrooms. AC 27.
GM Doug H |
In a game tonight. Hopefully, Berwick can make his nature check.
I also want to remind the player that Bless doesn't need to be sustained every round, you just use the action to expand it.
Grum Skoljar |
Cat #2 should have at least taken some bleed damage from my first successful strike against it. Still showing it at 47, which was from the original hit.
Berwick Winetrout |
I should have warned everyone here that the RNG doesn't like to give me a result above a 10 on a d20. Algrim can attest to this since we've played together in PBP several times. Any plan that revolves around me hitting a certain DC is almost certainly doomed. I was unaware that Bless only needed to be sustained to increase the emination size, not to keep the spell active. Hindsight being 20/20 I should have taken the 12 on the d20 when I had it.
GM Doug H |
I have requested a healing token.
You may consider delaying to see if the cleric (who has another hero point) can disable the trap, try to Aid (for example the wizard has +11 nature, a risk but perhaps worth it); if not, smash time as more cats may finally tip the balance here past the point of no return. Lots of bad luck on these rolls.
Eliander Underhill |
Algrim has +11 in nature, Eliander is untrained.

**AID TOKEN: Burst of Healing**
**Passing from**: GM Blake
**Passing to**: GM Doug H
**Aid Character Name**: Laeron
Effect: A fellow Pathfinder heals all the PCs by the listed amount.
**Boosted?** No

A band of novice Pathfinders wanders near and somehow manages to accidentally heal you as they fumble with and spill their healing potions all over the jungle floor.
GM Doug H |
Had some edits on there as posting from mobile. No one is down and you can all full attack. I want to keep the combat moving and am hoping the party can finish it this round.
Cat 5 would move to the ranger: pounce strike strike. Please feel free to move the token.
GM Doug H |
Due to cast down if they take any damage they are knocked prone.
I don't think Cast Down works on an AOE channel; it's one action and the aoe is 3 actions. It also specifies "you use it to damage one creature."
GM Doug H |
Actually, turns out disabling the ring should have caused the creatures to vanish. I missed that.
So let's have you healed to full and you can move on to the next encounter. And you can have the healing token saved too. I think that is fair, along with reupping a couple channels for the cleric (heal & harm) and the wizard's acid arrows.
Onward!
GM Doug H |
Railroaded into another combat. Please make sure you have your stuff back from the extra rounds I ran; GM error should not take away your resources.
GM Doug H |
Don’t forget to roll your Sickened saves at the start of your turn!
Grum Skoljar |
@GM, just thinking ahead. Could Grum take that diagonal to get through or would that still be considered going through the wall? I am thinking it is, just double checking.
GM Doug H |
The wall is always 5' wide. I'll add a square to represent that. The wall is just difficult terrain to pass through, and some piercing damage.
GM Doug H |
Algrim — it might help me resolve turns faster, and be more fun for you, if you pre-roll your AOOs.

Ok I will roll them at the end of my turn each time. I will put one here now.
Disrupt Prey AoO to Hunted Prey: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (10) + 16 = 26
Damage Slashing: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 3) + 6 = 13
GM Doug H |
GMing tonight. We need 2 crit successes to avoid combat, so if one of the two remaining players can makes a check and doesn't crit I'll set up combat. .
GM Doug H |
I think you may have skipped Grum and the big lizard.
Also here is the Attack of Op when the big lizard stands up.
[Dice=Disrupt Prey AoO to Hunted Prey]1d20+16
[Dice=Damage Slashing]2d6+6
We crossposted. The init block is now corrected with copy/pasted formatting removed.
Please note your will save too!
GM Doug H |
We are scheduled to begin part 2 on Tuesday and you finished all the areas available. My recommendation is that we wait instead of initiating a new combat and trying to complete it in 2 days.
You will all have an overnight rest.
Think about which token you want to boost next.
GM Doug H |
The harm is cool though, i think I am going to take versatile font on my cleric and grab Cast Down too. Inspired!
GM Doug H |
Don't forget to boost one of your tokens guys. If you fail it's OK. Better to pass it sooner than later.
GM Doug H |
Drained value decreases by 1 after rest and we had full night rest, right? My maximum hit points should be back to 62 then?
Yes, thank you! Copy/paste error from my statblock
GM Doug H |
It's 10 minutes till the next encounter. Might as well. We can kick it off later today though.
Berwick Winetrout |
I was optioning not to use any resources to heal in the 10 minute down time. I used a 2 action heal in the last round of combat from my staff to heal Algrim for 13 hp. He was at 82 hp prior to that. 82+13=93/99 hp. I didn't want to put treat wounds on an hour cool down for 6 hp.
GM Doug H |
Thanks. The 10 minutes is non-optional so I thought you might treat wounds regardless… or at least give you the option without waiting to wait a day to find out before starting combat. Algrim is at 93!
GM Doug H |
uses hero point
Speaking of… need to give another point. Algrim, have a hero point.
GM Doug H |
If I understand it correctly Eliander can relent and allow the grabbing without a roll. I'll provide a roll incase I'm wrong.
Seems right to me, don't think a roll is needed.
GM Doug H |
My second attack was a crit so it should be 28 damage to the creature
Got it thanks. I miss the nat 20s sometimes!

So I had him waste an action on an opposed athletics check to pull Elainder off you. while it succeeded it ate an action. I think that saved your wizard from getting carried off. Great job.
Also you have another 4d8 free healing coming after this encounter. Thought I'd let you know since dicebot apparently decided to do what it dis to Grum.
Grum Skoljar |
Get'em Algrim...I took care of the trees, you got the pissed off fisherman.
Berwick, how much healing would it be.
And does anyone have a remove curse?
GM Doug H |
Grum I am rereading the curse… I think by "on the water" it just means if you're on a river boat or fishing in a boat on a lake, not standing in some swamp water.
I don't think you should be slowed 1.
Also checking if you can buy a scroll between encounters.
Grum Skoljar |
@ GM, I could pay the spell casting cost listed in the guide. I would just need to know the level of the effect. I have to purchase the remove curse spell one higher than the effect.
GM Doug H |
The overseer has approved my ask. You can have it after this combat.
Yup. Mariner's Curse is level 5. So 160 GP for Auto-success as far as I understand it.
