Ver'Yanion Talthenar |
The elf shrugs as if this is what he expected. He indicates to the party that they should move on, before Togg changes his mind.
Nariso |
"Togg - do you know other hiding places for shinies? We are looking for a place that might have men guarding it. A place where many men have gathered sometimes."
GM Leesa |
Togg gestures to the tunnel to the north that she came out of “Men that way. Togg ask for food, they say ‘no’ and ran. Mean people"
Ringo George |
"Poor Togg, you just wanted some positive attention, to make some new friends." Ringo says with care.
"Say, there could be some more goodies later if you could tell us about anything else you've seen down here? Like, noises you hear but can't find what made it? Perhaps gooey or slimy things moving around down here?"
Lugrok |
Lugrok makes note of the things Togg is saying for later, in case it comes up again.
"Togg, do you remember what those men looked like? How they were dressed maybe?"
GM Leesa |
"Men looked like that one,' she waves a tentacle at Ringo, "When I ask for food they run into the big metal tunnel in wall. Togg not go in there, not know what on other side. But before run from Togg mean people were by stone rat."
Togg stares at the group for a bit before moving out of the way so they can continue along the sewers to the north where she says the mean people were.
"Togg not have friends before, friends good. You nice to Togg, bring Togg good food. Togg see friends again?"
Ver'Yanion Talthenar |
’Oh, I hope not!’ thinks Ver’Yanion.
”Sure, Togg. As you say, I am sure we will see you again. ”
Lugrok |
The big ork smiles, nodding.
"We will come see our new friend Togg before we leave. Stay safe, and if you see any others but us, do not let them know we are here, ok?"
Lugrok |
Once out of the space where Togg lives, Lugrok chats with the others.
"Going north, that the way those directions having us go also?"
GM Leesa |
Pulling out the directions Sascha gave you confirms that you need to head north and turn right at the t-junction. As you come around the corner you see a large statue of a rat at the end of the tunnel & 2 humans crawling out of the a pipe in the southern wall, you suspect these are the "mean people" who wouldn't give Togg food.
Lugrok |
Glaring at the new bodies coming out of the pipe, Lugrok hefts his axe, readying himself for a fight. A light growl to Urk sets the boar ready as well.
Ringo George |
Shield up and javelin at the ready, Ringo calls out, "Excuse me, just what do you two think you're doing down here?"
Gronak |
Gronak is used to stepping forward to fight shoulder to shoulder with his clanmates against demons and other unworldly horrors, but has quickly come to understand that the pathfinder’s society occasionally has different ways of dealing with threats. As his predominant goal is to learn the ways of the society and uncover new, more powerful mechanisms for dealing with his people’s abyssal threat, he is happy to sit back and perceive his companions approach. Still, he remains ready to step forward in the ways he knows well.
As the men step out of the tunnel, Gronak draws his sword from it’s sheath. He does not act aggressively, but lazily swings the blade over his shoulder as lumberjack would rest his ax while taking a break between trees. Their new ally is not fond of these individuals, but as he is distrustful of this strange beast, he does not immediately assume these men are enemies unless they chose to indicate otherwise.
GM Leesa |
The two humans startle when Ringo calls out to them.
"Us? Erm. We are just.....scavenging. What are YOU doing down here? It's dangerous, there is a nasty otyugh around, it asked us for food and when we refused it charged us.
They seem to be on edge, perhaps Togg got a few shots in before they made it into the pipe.
Ver'Yanion Talthenar |
Ver'Yanion does his best to make sure he is out of sight of the two.

"Perhaps this isn't an area you should be...scavenging ...around in." Ringo states, dropping his tone for emphasis.
Lugrok |
The orc stares at the two men, his eyes glinting slightly in the light.
"...can Urk and I eat the fingers on the small one? He wont be needing them for scavenging..."
He smiled wickedly as to emphasize his point, a low growl accompanying it.
Intimidation: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Urk the Boar |
Urk feels the tension between them all, looking at the men, then at his two legged minions, then back at the men. Seeing his orc friend smile and growl at the men, Urk follows suit, raising his hackles...
I fear no two legger! I call dibs on his kneecaps!
Intimidate: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (12) - 3 = 9
Nariso |
Nariso just eyes the groups curiously - trying to judge their modus operandi.
GM Leesa |
The 2 men start debating with each other when all of a sudden the statue's eyes light up and a string of unknown words stream forth.
Anyone speak undercommon?
"What the...? You awoke the statue!!
With that, they charge at the party & attack Gronak.

Suddenly, Ver'Yanion realizes that he has forgotten to armor himself up!
He pulls out his wand of mage armor, and casts it upon himself. 'Smart, Elf! Trying to get yourself killed?'
Lugrok |
Lugrok roars, pointing at the man with the hat who happens to be standing on front of Urk. Seeing the area just before him being a little crowded, he waits to see if he can move and get a swing in otherwise.
Lugrok is holding action until he can find a way to get stuck in. He has used a free action to have Urk attack the man in the hat.
Urk the Boar |
Urk sees his friend point at the hatted two legger. With a roar (in his mind, it was actually a grunt), he moved ahead and attempted to bring the man low.
You dare hide your hackles from me, two legger! I SHALL FREE YOU FROM YOUR RESTRICTIVE CLOTHING!

Gronak takes the hit to his jaw. Stunned for a moment, he recovers in short order. He spits blood on the ground at Pellius’ feet.
”You shouldn’t have done that.” He smiles as he heaves his Greatsword for a retaliatory strike.

Ringo moves to begin checking pockets after a cursory medical check of the miscreants.
Lugrok |
Lugrok takes a step back, great axe still in hand, keeping a wary eye about the sewer. They mentioned something about a statue...
"What did they say about waking the statue?"
Nariso |
"The statue's eyes have magic cast on them - probably to scare them." Nariso continues to concentrate and step forward towards the statue.
Urk the Boar |
Urk watches the elf step forward, seeming to stare at the rock covered two legger.
Why never statues of me? Why is it always two leggers? Arent I good enough?
Staying behind the elf, however, he readied himself should something untoward happen to their erstwhile companion.
Ver'Yanion Talthenar |
Ver'Yanion checks out the statue, both with detect magic, and with his rogue training.

Lugrok |
Nods hearing Ver, moving upward with the rest of the group, but keeping a wary eye on the statue.
GM Leesa |
Ringo realizes Pellius is still alive. However, Marixite is definitely dead and on him you find:
Masterwork quarterstaff, acid, a potion, studded leather, 2 daggers and 1 gp
Ver'Yanion senses no traps and he & Urk safely approach the statue. Once there Urk's nose twitches as if he has picked up the scent of something. And Ver'Yanion notices that there is a small shrine centered around the large statue of a rat, around which handfuls of baubles and trinkets lie as if left as offerings. He also notes the nearly every brick bears some type of scratch marks, many having the appearance of writing without actually forming coherent letters.
About one foot above the walkway on the southern wall is the pipe Marixite and Pellius crawled out of.
Ringo George |
Ringo moves to stabilize Pellius (take10=16) before taking some rope to tie him up. He then places Pellius into a seated position against the wall.
"So, what's up with the funky statue?"
Ver'Yanion Talthenar |
"It is not magical any more." replies the elf. "Something must have cast some spell. I am trying to determine what type, but I suspect illusion.

Gronak |
Gronak wipes the blood from his sword and sheaths the blade as he follows the party to the statue. He watches Naiso and Ver’Yanion in rapt attention as they cast their cantrips, trying to match their hand movements and incantations as he has been learning from Aram Zey.
He nods with Ver’Yanion, ”Yes, probably illusion. Maybe something to scare off the weak minded, do you think?”
