Welcome to the game!
This scenario is very skills and subterfuge heavy so if the character you signed up with doesn't fit that bill, feel free to bring in another one within the right level range. In fact, if you play your cards right, you can get through the full scenario without ever rolling initiative.
A major part is exploring the titular library so I'm going to go ahead and post those mechanics here -
As the PCs explore the Library of the Lion, they can perform skill checks to uncover, look through, and write notes about texts that fulfill their mission objectives. Some of these texts also contain clues, which grant a special advantage on other such skill checks. This scenario uses a small, special deck of cards to represent these texts (reproduced on slides 4-6.)
You can find one or more texts in each room and I'll reveal the clues as they're discovered and place an "X" over them as you use them.
Searching a room for texts requires a successful skill check, and multiple PCs can search an area simultaneously. Each researching PC can attempt a Linguistics, Knowledge (history), or text-based Craft or Profession check (such as Profession [librarian] or Craft [bookbinding]) to find texts. A PC might use a different skill or ability albeit with a penalty ranging from –2 to –5 . Several areas also identify additional skill check options that PCs may use without penalty. PCs who use magic or class abilities in a particularly creative or relevant way might receive up to a +5 bonus on a check.
Each area with texts is categorized as a small, medium, or large room, which take 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 2 hours respectively to search and copy down relevant information. Divide the time required to search the room between each actively researching PC (e.g. three PCs can search a medium room in 20 minutes). No more than four PCs can efficiently search a small room at the same time, and no more than five PCs can search a medium room at a time. Whether they succeed or fail at the check, PCs can continue spending time searching a room—they receive one additional text by spending half as much time continuing, which they can do while there are any texts left in the room.
It’s important to both the Society and Princess Eutropia that the Pathfinders leave behind as few tracks and clues of their infiltration as possible, and significant precautions can grant the PCs Deception points that contribute to achieving the scenario’s secondary success condition.

Hey all,
Upon reading the above, my only viable character may not be appropriate. I am currently signed up with my divine hunter on a PBP from PaizoCon US that is STILL going. It's about to wrap up, but if it does not by the time this starts I'll bow out. I was mainly drawn to the scenario because of the Mendev connection (birthplace). With being level 4 anyway, it may unbalance the rest of you a bit, but I am open to persuasion to stay if you all think it'd work. Not offended if ya tell this aasimar to scram either.
Like I said, there is distinct possibility that there will be no combat in this scenario and the skill checks are largely cooperative so you won't be overshadowing the lower level characters the way it sometimes happens in other scenarios.

Sounds good. Palis have a severe lack of trained skills, but I've managed thus far :). I'll stay put for now and if something comes up, I'll take my leave. Looking forward to it.
Sadly, Stiggur lacks the skills listed above. But he'll give his best efforts to thumb through the dainty little things with his oversized sausage fingers.
Maybe stealth or knowledge religion will be needed?
There are definitely areas where other skills are useful.

@EbonFist and all - Looks like I miscounted my chronicles! I still need ONE more XP to fulfill reqs for level 4, so I am gonna be playing this at level 3 after all. Will update the spreadsheet signup accordingly. Sorry for the adjustment, but better late then never.
10 demerits and I've got my eye on you...

I'm in favor of knocking out as many together as possible. For instance the biggest room takes two hours to complete based on the OP. But given we only have two hours of concert time, if four of us are in there, we should be able to knock it out in 1/4 that, or a half hour.
I actually need to head to bed and can't write anything up. I'll bot Radiarch to go with whoever wants to hit up a room with at least one partner. Will provide any assist roll tomorrow, but as I've said before, my only really good skill rolls are Diplomacy, Nobility, Heal, and Sense Motive.
They each make their own skill check, I take the highest and apply all the rest as aid attempts.
Technically...I'm not supposed to tell you your remaining time.
I will tell you that searching the first room took about 10 minutes.
I'll label the rooms you've completely searched as you've search them.

This is cool! Player issue rather a character issue but what 'current events'/'world news' would PCs know that might be of interest? Unfortunately this is Gaius's first adventure so he has no stories of his own to tell.
I'm not going to be too picky or do too much fact checking.
Season 5 is when the Pathfinders head to the World Wound (the "current" season for this scenario.)
Season 4 was when all the Runelord stuff happened in Varisia.
Season 3 was when they won the Ruby Phoenix Tournament and all the Hao Jin Tapestry stuff started.
Your own interpretations of any of that would be legitimate and if you've played through any memorable scenarios with any of your characters, you can assume that the news has gotten around the Society and these characters would know it as news/facts.
I should point out that I'm not going to be fact checking but if your character purposefully lies the might see through it and won't appreciate it.
