Looking forward to playing this. Since I already have GM credit on this character for Somewhere Below, I will not be able to take it through the whole sequence.

GM Ladile |

Welcome! And thanks for letting me know, Scary. Glad you'll be able to join us for the first two bounties at least :)

GM Ladile |

^From checking the replies/dots, looks like you, an investigator, and a monk + Kate's druid & Scary Gourd + whatever Dennis decides to play :)
In other news...
SOON :)

![]() |

Sadly, he does not speak Taldane. But as long as one of the monk or investigator aren't ranged, my One for All will get some practice.
Does anyone have abilities/spells that trigger Will saves?

I'm running a con this weekend, and don't expect to have time to make a new character, so I'll be playing a pregen (at least for the first one). I'm happy to make that a melee pregen, since that's what it sounds like the table needs. I'm leaning toward Seelah, unless someone has a specific request for another.

Dennis Pregen |

I know we're starting with Shadows and Scarecrows. What are the other two bounties we're doing (so I know what character slot to put this on)?
EDIT: Nevermind, reading comprehension fail. Sorry!

BretI |

Monk looks pretty intensely melee.
For the third quest, I may have a different character.
I am currently looking at my options for a hobgoblin magus. Yeah, the class was a large part of why he went out in the world — too much teasing about him using elf magic. Right now it is a GM blob with 4xp from a scenario on it.

So... Secrets of Magic may allow me to recreate a character concept that I had started in 1e and was going well but had to let fall by the wayside. I may change to an even more experimental concept but still melee.

GM Ladile |

Alrighty folks, I've got links to the slides we'll be using for S&S in my profile header and also at the top of the campaign page! When you get a chance, please fill out the information on Slide #2 and place your tokens in your preferred marching order on Slide #3.
You'll also see, at the top of the campaign page, a link for Skill Macros. Please fill this out as well; instructions are included within the sheet document.
I'm unexpectedly having to work tomorrow night and Monday night when I would normally be off + my usual Tuesday night. So while I will look to at least get an opening post up either late Sunday or Monday, things might be a little slow on my end until Wednesday.

I decided to stick with Sebasti.
For GM's information: I haven't committed to the name, so I've started leaving the reporting name as a reference to what kind of character it is while using an Alias for posting, thus the two "names."
For player's information: Don't worry, he's currently melee. He will eventually be a ranged swashbuckler, but right now, I'm testing the One for All mechanic, and I can't have both mechanics (optimized) until 3rd. :)

GM Ladile |

@Sebasti - Gotcha!
@All - Okay, small opening post up over in Gameplay, feel free to introduce yourselves and such :)

Dennis Pregen |

Switching to Ezren, since we seem to have the melee bit covered for this mission.

I should say that I'm fine with splitting the party here too, if that's what other folks would like to do, I just picture Ezren as a grumpy font of cliche Pathfinder advice.

GM Ladile |

^I went ahead and opted to keep you all together for the moment since that seemed to largely be what folks were leaning towards.
I know that generally most folks don't like to split the party no matter what, whether it's for sensible in-game reasons or OOC concern about making it hard on the GM. For PbP I don't mind it so much since it's easier to play out multiple interactions/activities at the same time, so I figured I'd give you the option if folks wanted to go that route :)

GM Ladile |

By the way, I realize that GenCon stuff is happening this weekend. While I'll continue to post as necessary, please don't feel pressured to post if you're busy with GenCon things :)

So for every type of persistent damage, my understanding is there is something you should be able to do that takes two actions and gives an additional check to end the persistent damage.
What the heck do you do if it is persistent mental damage? Give them some words of encouragement?

GM Ladile |

As it turns out, someone made a thread about this sort of thing very recently!
Assisted recovery and the various damage types
I like the suggestions of soothing words or mantras to try and help the mind re-focus and power through the pain, so...yes, actually, to what you proposed, Scary Gourd.

GM Ladile |

Hey folks, work was kinda rough last night (emotionally) and I've sadly got a funeral to attend later today so I'm going to take a rest day from PbP and anything else that requires creative/cognitive effort. I'll hopefully get back into the swing of things tomorrow.

I'm sorry to hear that! Take whatever time you need, no rush to be back tomorrow if you need more time.

Once we are done with the bounty, I think that I will want to make an adjustment to Scary Gourd.
I think I need to increase their strength, probably at the expense of their Wisdom.
Str 12 Dex 10 Con 12 Int 12 Wis 18 Cha 14
Increasing Strength will allow them to wear hide armor and make it slightly more likely they will be able to hit with their weapon. I want a Charisma bonus for the Intimidate skill.
Thoughts?

![]() |

If you want to be a (non-wild shape) melee druid, I would increase STR, too. My melee druid took 14 STR and 16 WIS. While I wanted him to be diplomatic, I didn't have enough room for CHA.
I would certainly drop WIS over CHA if you want to routinely use Intimidate.

GM Ladile |

If it was Isder's attack that drops her, the Tiger Stance is non-lethal.
Technically, Ezren's Magic Missile did the trick as she only had 6 HP left. You all really did a number on her right off the bat!
______________In other news, we're officially finished with Shadows & Scarecrows! I'll have your chronicles out to you in a bit - and don't forget that Bounties don't offer any Downtime so I don't need any Earn Income checks.
