Elfino has the That's Odd feat that reads in part: When you enter a new location, such as a room or corridor, you immediately notice one thing out of the ordinary. The GM determines what it is, or whether there's nothing reasonable to pick up, skipping obvious clues that can be easily noticed without a check or specifically looking for them.

He also has the Clue In ability. It is a reaction triggered by: Another creature attempts a check to investigate a lead you're pursuing, and which reads in part: You share information with the triggering creature. They gain a circumstance bonus to their check equal to your circumstance bonus to checks investigating your subject from Pursue a Lead. He can use it once per 10 minutes.

Elfino uses the Forensic Medicine methodology and is a Medic. He also has Assurance:Medicine. The result is that his Battle Medicine is better than most. On success (guaranteed at DC 15 due to Assurance) the target recovers additional Hit Points equal to his level (2), and the target becomes temporarily immune for only 1 hour, not 1 day. In addition, the Medic Dedication states that Once per day, you can use Battle Medicine on a creature that's temporarily immune.

@Elfino - I just made an investigator as well, so thanks for the heads up. I think those abilities will prove very useful in this scenario!

@Mighty Glacier - no problem. As we get closer, I'll start prepping slides and then it would be nice to have you dialed in, but for now a placeholder is perfectly fine.

I'll be joining this game, but I'm still undecided on a character. I've signed up for multiple games with mixed levels, so I'm just waiting to see if anything crystallizes.

If you haven't dotted in to gameplay, feel free to do so. We still have a little more than a week before we start, but I am starting to prep materials.

This scenario is a mystery. We can play it one of two ways - lighthearted (Scooby Doo) or as a horror movie (Alien). Please chime in with your preference, although majority may not rule depending on people's reasoning. Why don't you send this as PM to me - and also give me some thoughts on your choice. If someone is really anti-horror, I definitely won't go that path. Mostly this is a cosmetic decision, but it will also affect the speed of the game (horror will be slower as it will involve more hidden information to individuals and darkness will be a bigger factor). I don't have a preference either way, though.

I have two glyphs, so I can hand out two Hero Points. I'll give them to the Level 1 spellcasters - Carnelian Signet and Ekaterina.

What would I need to figure out which book is needed next to complete the work in the workstations? It might be better to see if the next book is missing than to look for random books. I have Arcana and Occultism.

@all: Fuzzfoot is a player in another game I'm GMing, and one of the other players reported that RL is swamping him. I'm going to reach out to Tyranius for advice, since this is a convention game.

Apparently Gameday X ends today (15 Nov 2021). Not sure what that means for our little adventure though. Out of the five I signed up for, this one is the only one still running.

According to GM Numbat... A friendly reminder that Gameday X is scheduled to end 15 November. All games, even those still in progress, should be reported by the end date. Games that are not reported on time will not be included in the gift voucher lottery.

Perhaps we should just call it and move on at this point. We've pretty much finished it except for the Akizendri chase/fight/exorcism, which we can always assume went our way.

I would personally prefer to play the final encounter out, even if the game is reported and it takes us past today. That is what is happening at the table I'm running of Torrent's Last Will.

I’d agree with you if our GM was a little more active, but given that it appears that real life is taking up all his time with no change in sight, perhaps it might be best to let him off the hook. Otherwise, at the rate of one posting a week, the final encounter is likely to take us well into next year. Please note that I am not faulting the GM. Unexpected s#!t happens in real life and it is quite understandable that unimportant stuff like our adventures take a back seat to that.

As long as the GM has reported the game before the deadline, I'm okay either calling it or finishing the last fight.

I don't have anything planned for Thevenin, so I don't mind if he's locked for a bit longer. But I do understand if others feel differently. And it may benefit the GM's life situation if we were to be able to clear this off his plate, I'm sure it's stressful for him, too.

I've taken over a game or two, adjudicating the last fight or so, and just filling out a Chronicle for the previous GM. If Fuzzfoot is concerned about the credit, I wouldn't feel uncomfortable making such a request of the VOs.

If we do end up calling it, I would appreciate it if someone could narratively take us through the remainder of the scenario. I am quite interested in knowing if there's a bigger picture to what's happening.

I'm ambivalent either way. For the GM's sake we should call it here. No need to burden them.

I usually buy the PDF of the scenario after I've played it to make sure I got everything out of it. It's only $5.99. Not sure I can share it with anyone without breaking some sort of rule/law though.

I'll advice according to my usual "keep it simple" principle: the less hassle the better. The game has been reported, and all is well. Finding a backup GM and getting the final fight sorted takes time and effort that each of us could spend on other things.

Hey gang - yes, completely swamped. I had intended to try to concentrate on this game to finish it out, but then you all took a turn towards a combat at the very end there.

So if we want to call it and let everyone get on, that is ok - should not affect your chronicles at all. I had little doubt that you would win the fight without any casualties anyway.

I'll probably end up buying the scenario at some point to GM, so I can look this up myself later, but was the incursion into our plane intentional? Was the BB just some poor soul that got lost, or was it malicious? Did someone on our plane do something to trigger it, or was it just a weird mystery that's never been solved before?

So the scenario was a little light on the background, but the basic story is this: that bracelet in the bathroom was a planar focus for summoning proteans. Years ago, a student had "borrowed" the bracelet from her mom, and then hid it in the wall of the bathroom to cover her theft.

The focus drew in an akizendri—a low-ranking protean that loves to corrupt texts and knowledge—who, in turn, discovered a small school perfect for meddling. The akizendri took it for their home and adopted the honorific title of “The Scholar of Sorts." In addition to their intentional mischief, latent chaotic energy also seeps from them into the school, causing the strange occurrences that plague Dacilane Academy.

Working on chronicles now. First time I have done for 2e, so I hope I get it right. Sounds like the game was already reported thanks to Tyranus.

No - you did good. I totally had the form up on my computer and then didn't see it again for 2 days, so I totally missed the boat. I don't know if he got all the details or not, so I may report it again - I'll ask.

Meanwhile, chronicles are almost done (first pass is below), but I don't have a faction for you. Also, only Qen gave me something for downtime, (craft checks), so if anyone needs an update for that, just let me know.

I looked over the chronicle and it appears that you gave Elfino the GP rewards for a Level 1 PC. Elfino is Level 2, so instead of 14gp it should be 22gp. I also see some missing check marks in the adventure summary but that is an unimportant omission.

According to the new Organized Play Foundation Downtime rules, Players are responsible for rolling and recording their own downtimes...

So to make it official and put it on the record, here is Elfino's Earn Income roll whose result I will add to the chronicle I receive for this adventure.
