I went ahead and assigned a few things where I think they should go. If for some reason someone would prefer not to carry an item that I have distributed to you, let me now and I will remove the item. So fare, I believe Nico will end up using the +1 crossbow and special bolts. I have also assigned the CMW potion to Alistair seeing he hasn’t received one yet and is on the front line a lot. Lief and Nico are both in-line for potions as they present themselves.

Diego, you're the best. I'd give you a hero point but I think we all forget about hero points and don't use them in this game, lol

For clarity, you guys can 100% make use of hero points. In my other games I tend to say you get one back each in-game day since there aren't really "sessions" in PBP. With Thistletop making for a very very long day, I'd say earning one per floor is probably about a "session" worth of play.

Link for anyone unfamiliar with them. I like using them because nothing is worse than waiting a day or two for your turn to come up and then you roll like garbage.

Because Lyrie is a spell caster, I would like to reaffirm that Diego shackled her with irons and a lock and her hands behind her back. This along with a gag will hopefully keep her from casting.

Potion of CLW? Next in line is Lief, then Nico. If you two are not overly interested in it, then Alistair would be next up in order to replenish the one he just drank.

I don't think Nico needs to be in the CLW rotation. At least so far, she's been able to keep out of harm's way well enough.

Sorry for the quiet weekend, this is a busy time of year. Next weekend isn't likely to be much better but after that I should be back to a normal schedule.

As for the potion, I'd say give it to Diego- with the tight quarters in here I'm not always getting into melee right away but he is.

Diego still has the CMW from the chief's room. Offer is appreciated, but I believe Alistair is going to be the best option for the potion seeing he used the one he had to offset the critical bite he took.

Can anyone use the items that were successfully Identified? I know I'm unable to use any of this, but I'm unsure about Lief or Bjorn. If no one can use this stuff, Diego will shove the lot of it into his backpack and add it to the sellable loot pile when he has a chance.

I can use the wand and the scrolls of comprehend languages and sleep without needing any checks. I have to make a caster level check to use the scrolls of minor image or see invisibility, but I think I only need a 2 on the die to succeed (iirc the DC is the scrolls caster level, which is usually 3 for both those spells, and the roll 1d20 +1 for being a 1st level caster).

Just in case anyone is interested, I have a second character in an existing game of The Dragon's Demand. Do to drop offs we are down to three players. The remaining three seem solid and the game is progressing along even with only three players. The GM has been doing a solid job of it and is fairly consistent. We are currently level 2, so not to fare into the story. Anyway, we have room for a few more players if anyone has the bandwidth and is interested. Sounds good Lief. I have posted in the discussion thread that we have two ready to go and a third standing by. We had opened up recruitment a short bit ago, so I know the GM was looking to add more players. I'm not sure how many they had in mind. From my perspective, a group of six seems reasonable. That said I don't want to over presume anything.

Is anyone else branching out into something magical? I was thinking of taking a level of bard, maybe daredevil. That would give me a couple of spells and allow me to handle wands. Thoughts?

As of right now, I'm intending to stay straight fighter. That said, I have pondered picking up skill focus in disabled device seeing that Diego has been doing a lot of searching for traps.

Nico will get Dex to damage at 5th level. At some point after that, I'm considering multiclassing into Inquisitor. Slayer is also a possibility though.

I only pointed that out due to the trap we just had. I don't want our only option to deal with traps be to set it off or, in this case, to jump it and take the risk of getting caught. Fortunately, this one was only a five-foot jump, yet we still had someone burn a hero point to make it. Disable device is a strong plus in my book. I might still try and work it in, even if it's only to aid another in the process.

Nobody wants to find religion and pick up a couple levels as a cleric or something with some healing, huh?

I like Lief but if healing is going to be an ongoing problem (as seems likely), I'd potentially be open to switching characters after we get back to Sandpoint. I could make someone who was sent back with the Sheriff after his trip to Magnimar? Paladin was one of the allowed base classes and that would definitely provide some healing ability, or maybe like a ranger/inquisitor since we lost some of our wilderness survival skills when Jaymin left.

Is that something that you (GM) would be open to and the rest of the party feels like might be a good idea?


I enjoy Lief! I'd hate for you to ditch a character you're enjoying for a gap in party abilities. If that's what you decide I'm fine with it. I could also make an NPC to tag along with you guys, to some extent.

I don't love DMPCs because it's too hard to divorce what I know from what they know, so it'd be more of a noncombatant that could run in and stabilize folks and the like. A camp follower, if you will, who's taken a vow of nonviolence or some such but can come in as a field medic. Just throwing an option out there.
