Hi folks. I’m sorry to do this, but I’m going to need to bow out. It has nothing to do with this game, players, or GMing, but I find myself checking the PbP games less and less frequently these days. For someone who used to check the boards for new game posts every few minutes, it’s very strange to get to a place where I just realized I haven’t checked them in four days. I hope that if I return to the hobby, I’ll be able to get a chance to play with you fine folks again someday, and I wish you the best of luck and happy gaming.

Investigation content can seem a bit slow at times. Gameplay vs. play style is always a challenge for a GM when trying to accommodate multiple players. In the beginning it was a bit more spicy, role-play wise, do to Diego being a bit gruff. I have since toned it down a bit. I hope that wasn't what caused your interest to wane. Ultimately, I'm sorry to see you go. Safe travels and hope to see you around, its been fun.

Once again I'm very sorry it's taking me so long to get posts up. Both April and early May have been just overwhelming. My workload is up and we transitioned back to working in the office part time. Since I work for the state and all such changes happen at all state offices together, it was a big change with many, many meetings and emails involved. On top of that many federal rules changed at the start of May as Covid-19 policies and procedures are replaced with 2+ year old versions from before. That meant many more meetings and emails.

Meetings would sometimes run so long over their scheduled slots they would completely swallow the meetings scheduled behind them, which would then have to be rescheduled. With all this going on we also still had our regular work to get done somehow. I also had a pet die. It's been a lot.

I think I'm mostly in the clear now with work and things will be returning to normal again. I'll be catching up on gameplay over the next two or three days.

I hope I haven't been too much trouble to wait for.

No worries at all, I have also been crazy busy and not posting as often. I think that fact that you guys resurrected this game from the dead goes to show you're in it for the long haul, and there is no rush ^_^ I don't think the game will fizzle if we occasionally go a couple days without posts.

I'm very sorry for the long absence everyone. I was getting badly burned out by work especially, and life in general so I took the long holiday weekend to go to the beach and get away for a bit. That made coming back hard, and I just couldn't muster the energy to start back up with regular life. Took few days off for laying on the floor and staring at the ceiling, walking the dog a lot, eating a different kind of salad for every meal including breakfast, and spent one day doing nothing but laying on the couch and binging the entire 4th season of Stranger Things. In sum, avoiding everything.

I'm feeling better now so I'm in the process of getting caught up. Thank you for your patience.

@Diego: surely we can take some manacles from the jail. I'm hoping for some rope as well.

I assume, at least for now, we will not be keeping any loot found on criminals. Therefore, I'm hoping to get some decent stuff requisitioned through the city to make up the difference.


Any mundane adventuring gear, weapons, ammo, or armor can be requisitioned on the town's tab no worries. You could also get your hands on a half dozen cure light wounds potions, though that will about tap out the town's supplies -- many were used after the goblin attack and those capable of making them have not had time to shore the supply back up again.

Orin's heals patched Diego up pretty well, but I couldn't remember how the heal skill worked (the joys of running games in 3 systems at once, lol) so I looked it up: Treat Deadly Wounds

You can 100% try to drown her, lol. For the sake of time, and given her small size, I am fine with ending initiative and you guys do what you want to do -- we could roll a dozen rounds of breath holding and her trying to escape and maybe succeeding and being recaptured, but I don't think any of us want to spend weeks doing drowning mechanics ;) So go for it and do whatever you want with her, story-wise.

I am playing RotRL irl and my group did this fight like 2 weeks ago...threw her in a sack and went full Hulk vs. Loki with her.

That's a good question Alistair. If it is keepable loot, then we will need to get some things appraised and others identified.
