While technically I'm a soldier, I'm not really a high damage dealer.
Liftt is a pilot. And while he can hit with his laser, he doesn't do much damage with it.
Nervous of disposition, he doesn't enjoy fighting very much and sometimes stutters when things start to happen too fast.

![]() |

While technically I'm an Envoy, I do not heal stamina nor boost morale. I'm more into using spell chips.
Belta is a person people. And while she can hit with her pistol, she doesn't do much damage with it.
Curious of disposition, she enjoys traveling and discovering places, as well as organizing better working conditions.

I am not the GM, and I do not want to clutter up this thread, so I was going to PM you-- however, I thought it best to post here in case it might help others (sorry cmlobue if not the good choice):
@Arthur Pardus since this is your first Starfinder game, and you are playing a pre gen, do you have any questions re. your character, the rules, SFS?

The android operative's Ranged attack I have a choice of either the pistol or a frag grenade. Why is the modifier for the frag grenade -3?
From my understanding when I am attacked, depending on what type of attack, if the attack passes my EAC or KAC the damage first reduces my stamina before my HP right? And spending 1 resolve point and waiting ten minutes restores all my stamina?

![]() |

I'm not sure about the ranged attack, but that does seem odd.
Correct about attacks, they target either your KAC (kinetic armour class, similar to base AC in pathfinder), or EAC (energy armour class).
You have a pool of health, which comprises SP (stamina points) and HP (hit points). Damage comes off SP before HP. Although there are a couple of odd exceptions (radiation if I remember correctly). SP are much easier to get back, and as you noted, a ten minute rest will let you get them all back so long as you have resolve points available.

![]() |

Grenades
That is correct. The Operative is NOT proficient w. grenades. So, you get a -4 to your attack roll from the non-proficiency.
So, the calculation is:
0 BAB +1 STR for thrown weapons -4 from non-proficient = -3
EAC/KAC
I imagine this is what you meant, but, just in case: when you say "passes", the attack roll does not need to be higher, it only has to "match", be equal to your armor class.

We are now one week from starting the game. Slides are now available. Please fill in your tokens and information on slide 2 and complete the sign in sheet if you have not already - this is how I determine what challenges to give you as well as generate your chronicle sheet when the game is over.
I am a generally pretty laid-back GM, but because this is a timed event, I will have to be quicker on the gun to bot people. If it has been 24 hours since your action was requested and you have not responded, I will bot your character. This is a convention rule and I would rather not use it, but life happens.
Other than that, have fun, don't be a jerk, and please feel free to send any comments/questions/suggestions to me in this thread or via DM. Special welcome to Arthur Pardus - this is an exciting introduction to Starfinder Society, and I think you'll find everyone here will do all they can to make it a pleasant one.
After the first post goes up next Monday, you will have two days to introduce yourselves, figure out boons, starship roles and anything else you need to do before the action starts on September 8.
The scenario does suggest having at least one player slot these three boons, if you have them:
Acquainted with Datch (Social) from #2–01: Pact World Warriors
Big Win against Big Potion (Slotless) from #2–17: Cost of Living
Data Stalker (Social) from #2–20: Shades of Spite.

We are just a few hours from starting, and I have a bit of bookkeeping for some of you:
Everyone
Make sure your tokens, Perception and Initiative are on SLIDE 2
Belta
Please add your information to the SIGN IN SHEET
Arthur Pardus
Please dot into the GAMEPLAY THREAD
Tigercat
All of the above, please, or let us know if you are not planning to participate.
I haven't seen anything from Tigercat, so you may want to discuss a pregen in case they are not just fashionably late.

cmlobue |

Whatever makes you more comfortable, as long as you are mostly consistent.
*looks at all the campaigns that have cmlobue as a character because I forgot to change identities when posting*

cmlobue |

Thank you, Tyranius.
Players, due to people dropping out, we are a little short of people. While we try to make up the deficit, a couple more pregens will be joining to help out. I would suggest Navasi the Envoy and Keskodai the Mystic for coverage, but we can use any of them. It's also up to you if you want to handle a pregen in addition to your character or if you want me to make their rolls. Hopefully we will have more players soon and we can resume normal operations.

Welcome Hawthwile and Farol! Go ahead and add yourselves to the sign in sheet, the introduce yourselves in Gameplay and take on some of the party prep challenges. We have about 12 hours before the next part starts.

<<Hello there folks! Hawthwile's character reporting in!>>
Slide updated, sign-in filled out, none of those boons on this character, and jumping into gameplay! Let's do this!

Dang, I knew there was something I forgot in that first post! XD
@Arthur, you can read about starship combat here if you want. The idea is that each PC has a role in running the ship during an encounter. We'll want to make sure we have folks in the following roles:
- Pilot, to steer the ship - uses Piloting bonus
- Engineer, to fix anything or give other folks a boost - uses Engineering bonus
- Gunner, to fire ze missiles the ship's guns - uses ranged attack or (ranks in Piloting + Dex mod) bonus
The other roles tend to support or enhance these three core roles. Given our small crew size, we might not have any of them this time.
As far as Krzysztofli goes, he would do best as a pilot (+9) and could fill in as an engineer (+5) or gunner (+5) if needed. I'm also here as a filler player, so I'll happily let someone else take a position if they feel strongly about it.

Filled in sheets, tomorrow I will introduce her, I played this special at lvl 4.
Double-check with Cmlobue and Tyrannius, but I think lvls 1-4 might be the same “game” for purposes of playing this scenario multiple times (the other being lvls 5-8). If that’s the case, I think you’d still be welcome to play, but wouldn’t be able to receive a chronicle sheet for the adventure.

No worries, for such cases I have jadnura boon to spare ;)

Liftt is more than happy to fly anything, although he does note the handling of the pegasus is pretty good.
(better bonus to pilot checks)
That said, I know many, many players prefer the Drake for its heavier weapons payload. Liftt has no real preferences.
I will note that I'll try to grab a node for initiative checks each round. Every little bit helps on that roll.

![]() |

If memory serves, the Drake uses missiles on its turret. That means we can very quickly find ourselves out of missiles. (Not that that’s happened locally. On multiple occasions for various tiers of Drake.) XD
Krzysztofli would prefer the Pegasus.

![]() |

Drake gives worse movement and worse bonuses but it has 3 weapons in most arcs, only one of the weapons has 5 missiles. So for up to 5 rounds we could use 3 gunners. That gives certain flexibility.
1 vote for Drake to spice things up ;) but I would be happy with pegasus as well.

Will someone please buy Keskada some new dice?

![]() |

Hang on, lets regin the RNG seed for her.
lots of rolls: 100d20 ⇒ (6, 14, 11, 19, 3, 16, 11, 9, 4, 5, 9, 10, 9, 19, 10, 18, 20, 8, 6, 19, 4, 17, 4, 11, 4, 12, 9, 1, 10, 18, 6, 7, 14, 1, 10, 18, 5, 11, 10, 15, 15, 16, 8, 10, 9, 2, 15, 1, 9, 20, 13, 10, 11, 16, 4, 10, 4, 10, 4, 15, 14, 15, 14, 5, 4, 3, 13, 2, 18, 3, 13, 12, 17, 10, 8, 8, 3, 11, 6, 4, 17, 8, 7, 20, 2, 2, 4, 18, 13, 18, 15, 2, 20, 12, 14, 18, 19, 7, 14, 15) = 1043
There, that should get rid of all the bad ones.

We have received an Aid Token. We can do two things with it. It can be used for one of the effects on the slide (in the current situation, Remote Assistance, getting a +2 bonus to all checks for one round of starship combat), then it is passed along.
We can also send it to another table unused, and use some resources to boost its effect. In that case, one player chooses which effect to boost and to do whatever it says under "To Boost" and then it moves to another table.
Aid tokens move from table to table when they are used, so we want to keep them in circulation. Please choose to use or boost the token quickly.

![]() |

Oi. We might want to use that for the +2 bonus for a round - we need it. XD

cmlobue |

Okay, the aid token will be used on round 5.
