Kelda Highcliff |

Kelda points out the man to the others, before motioning for them to follow her.
Reaching the table she clears her throat, "Excuse me Sir, I'm sorry it took so long to get here. This is Lysithia, and Lup. Would it be okay if we joined you to talk about the problems you're having?"

GM Henry Fortuna |

"The room is one gold for the night, but you can pay in the morning," the portly man says. "It's upstairs, first door on the right. If you need anything, my name is Ewan."
---
The man looks up as Lysithia doesn't see anybody paying any particular attention to the group or the man at the table. "Ah, you came. Have a seat or three."

Kelda Highcliff |

Kelda pulls out a chair for Lysithia, and waits for her and Lup to be seated before sitting next to them.
Looking at her new companions, "When the server comes, you two order whatever you like, it's on me." Giving them a smile, she turns her attention on the gentleman they came to meet, "So, I'm sorry, but I never got your name when we met. I'm Kelda, in case I didn't tell ye before, and this is Lysithia and Lup. They're goin' to help me out with your goblin problem."

GM Henry Fortuna |

"I'm Rauf," the man answers. "It's good you found a few extra hands...Anyway, goblins never gave us much trouble 'fore, they'd come by maybe once a month lookin' for food or whatever it is that goblins like. We'd have the dogs out at night by the gate and they'd frighten the little bastards off. About two or so months ago, they're showing up once or twice a week. Whipped into a frenzy, they was. They...they killed my dog, Snapper. Killed a few horses too 'fore moving on to the families. Lost about four people. Most of the village left after those four died. Now, it's about me an' eight others trying to keep our home from being overrun. We've been taking shifts patrolling and we're about at our wits end. Damned soldiers won't bother coming out and there aren't many adventurers in these parts."

Lysithia Pasiphae |

"That definitely sounds dire. It isn't right that your village has been forced out of your homes, and it sounds like if left unchecked their incursion will only get worse." Lysithia says with a troubled expression.

Lup Zazhzhennaya |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

"My sympathies for Snapper.," Lup starts with sincerity before taking a seat and asking questions. "These goblins, when they attacked did they seem organized or crazed? Like they had planned this or something suddenly drove them to attack like this when they hadn't before?"

Kelda Highcliff |

Kelda nods in agreement, "Definitely something that needs to be taken care of. Along with Lup's questions, I was wonderin' about how many of them show up at a time now? If it's enough to start killin' animals and people, we might want to see if we can find a couple more people to join us."

GM Henry Fortuna |

Rauf shrugs. "They seemed...different. Fearless, I'd say. Hard to notice more than that when you're fighting for your life."
He eats a spoonful of his soup before addressing Kelda. "S'been around ten at a time. We usually take care of one or two when they come, so the rest have been to the village a few times. Seem like they know it better each time."

Lup Zazhzhennaya |

"Scouting?" Lup thinks aloud before asking "Was anything different in the village this time? Any damage beforehand? Lots of people away for anything? The mourning for example. Anything out of the ordinary or odd?"

Kelda Highcliff |

"I think the fact that they're killing livestock, people, and pets, is reason enough to deal with them. Of course they're causing damage, they practically thrive off chaos and destruction. I don't care what's driving them to do it, they need to be dealt with." Kelda says, not understanding why any of those things would matter, when Rauf already said they were killing people.

Kelda Highcliff |

Nodding she says, "Unless there's anything else you can think of that we need to know, I'm pretty sure we've heard enough. Though...with the little buggers in those numbers, we really should try to find at least a couple others to go with us." Kelda looks at Lup and Lysithia to see what they think. All she knew for sure, was that they needed to get rid of the goblins as quickly as possible.

Lup Zazhzhennaya |

I have never once advocated for killing Owlbear babies, let alone Owlbears. Just got to be aware of them.

Lysithia Pasiphae |

"I agree, finding a few others would be a wise thing to do, though we don't want to wait very long before heading there." Lysithia replies.

Astoria Rilynrae |

Astoria follows Ewan's directions and takes a few moments to examine the room before addressing Celanna. "I'm sorry about getting lost earlier. My thoughts have been wandering lately and I'd probably lose my own head if it wasn't attached. "

Kelda Highcliff |

Kelda nods, "I understand that this matter is quite urgent, but we're not going to be able to help anyone, if we go rushing in there unprepared, and without adequate numbers, and get ourselves killed. I have no problem going into battle, but we need to be smart about it. Maybe we can find a couple of people on our way out of town tomorrow? I need to stop by where my folks are staying anyways. They'll be coming with us part of the way, and I have a letter I need to give to them."

Kelda Highcliff |

"I'll just have the soup and an ale please." She responds, looking over at Lysithia and Lup to see what they wanted.

Lysithia Pasiphae |

"I'll have the root vegetables and an ale as well, thank you." Lysithia replies.
After their orders are taken she continues the conversation. "If we can find anyone tomorrow, that would be good. Though you don't really see people just lining up to go fight goblins."

Lup Zazhzhennaya |

”Ohh, fish cakes if you do have any. Otherwise the soup sounds yummy, no ale though, working,” Lup tells the waitress as he takes a seat.
”Where would we even start? Just wait around here or another tavern or is there a guard house where potential uh, ‘fixers’ might inquire about jobs?”

Celanna Talonheart |

As Celanna closed the door and looked to move a chair under the door handle, "You weren't the only one that didn't ask. I'm normally better about that, just slipped my mind."

Kelda Highcliff |

Kelda thinks for a moment, "Well, I know people don't line up to fight goblins, and I know we can't just go from tavern to tavern....hmmmm....there is a board near the main square we were at earlier. We could see if anyone is there tomorrow looking for work?" Kelda wasn't sure what the best way to go about looking for help was, seeing as how until recently, she wasn't used to asking for any.
Shrugging slightly she sighs, "I don't know, hopefully we'll just get lucky and find a couple of people to go with us. My folks are more familiar with this area and the people here than I am. Maybe when we meet up with them, they might have some ideas of where to find some others looking for adventure? They're staying at this little bed and breakfast near the square we were at earlier. They say that they really like the breakfast there."

Astoria Rilynrae |

Astoria drops her pack against a wall and stretches her sore shoulders. "Well it seemed to work out alright at least."
She walks over to the edge of the bed and takes a seat. "What are your thoughts regarding working for Jerell? That is if you don't mind me asking."

Kelda Highcliff |

Once they're done eating, Kelda leaves a few gold on the table.
Letting out a yawn of her own, she looks up at the others, "I think it would be a good idea for us to go back and get some rest."

Lysithia Pasiphae |

"Yes, it has been a long day, and we'll want to get an early start tomorrow if we hope to find help." Lysithia agreed, smiling at Kelda in thanks as she puts gold on the table.

Kelda Highcliff |

"You're welcome. Our inn is just around the corner from this one, remember? We can just walk back to the Mystic Moon from here." Kelda responds as she gets up from the table, and picks up her Warhammer from beside her. Gathering up her stuff, she gets ready to head back to their inn.

Celanna Talonheart |

Setting her pack on the chair to add a little move weight to it she responded, "Well, I'm just lookin' to head east but a little extra coin doesn't hurt. I just hope it's honest work."
