Story:
Raised alone by their mother Astoria and her brother Heron were hailed as gifted from an early age. Even among their full blooded peers their talents were known throughout their village. Astoria found herself enamored with the arcane arts while her brother was considered a prodigy with the both spell and blade. The two children often found themselves ostracized within their small arctic community but they managed to live happily, at least for a time.
Shortly after her coming of age Astoria met a traveler who had come to her village. Cloaked in black this stranger whispered promises of lost knowledge and powerful arcane magics into the young woman's ears. The naive young girl that she was Astoria wished she could take the stranger up on their offer, but she refused to leave her family behind to do so.
Not long after her refusal to join the stranger a plague swept through her village, causing many of her neighbors to fall ill with boiling blood. Once again the stranger whispered promises but still Astoria refused. Only when both Astoria and her mother fall ill did she ask the stranger to save them, but by then it was too late. Her brother Heron had also meet with the stranger and accepted its dark promise in return for saving his family.
The mysterious plague vanished within a day of Heron and the strangers disappearance, but it's dark curse left a lasting mark an those it had infected. Astoria now suffers from nightmares and other strange waking dreams that changed her magic in new and strange ways. She is now connected to something she doesn't yet understand but it's gifts are undeniable.
Astoria and her mother were exiled from their cursed village out of fear the stranger would one day return for her. With no leads on either the stranger or her brother Astoria searches for a place to study magic and she hopes Ardin's Tower will accept her where all others have turned her away.
Appearance and Personality:
Astoria stands just short of 6 foot tall with long and often untamed snow white hair. Her eyes are like ice which have a striking contrast when paired with her warm smile.
She is naive to the dangers of the world even now and she is easily distracted by new things, such as books, food, art and even fashion.
