Keskodai and Chk-Chk |
Keskodai nods.
"Thank you, Wingtooth, good to know. Tell us a bit more about this god. Also, there was a group of scavengers who came on a ship before us...bunch of longshanks, mostly. What happened to them?"
SD DM |
"Proud-gut would talk to the green god, the spirit, and she would give us miracles, light, and warmth, and air so that we didn't need suits all the time. Then she stopped. Gut-proud was going to commune with the god to make her start again. The rest of us were supposed to find some salvage."
Wingtooth points at the wreckage in the hangar bay. "What ship? This ship? We thought the pilot got out in a pod just before the ship rammed into the hangar. Good space jock, mean fighter that one. They had some crew already on the planet. We found them. Two died fighting. Two were taken below for sacrifice. "
Keskodai and Chk-Chk |
Keskodai's antennae perk up.
"How long ago was this? Have the remaining two been sacrificed yet?"
Perhaps fate would be kind and allow them to save at least someone!
Thundergun |
Raia inspects the machine following te guidance and showing some respect.
Maybe goblin means that a generator went mlufactioning or battery to low? Shurely. the most obvious place is the wire...
She probably calls Iseph to assist in te operation.
May we take 10? Should I roll something?
Raia also finds interest in the talkative goblin.
SD DM |
Sorry, KS, I was distracted by the dialogue.
While the others talk, Raia diagnoses the mainframe. Gut-proud almost had it fixed, but must have brushed up against that bare power lead running along the side of the access hatch. The damaya carefully reaches past the lead to adjust a few jumper wires, and she's sure it's functional.
The light patterns on the control consoles change on the desks change. Their screens reset.
Choosing to repair the mainframe first was a good decision. You get a +5 on computer rolls to hack the consoles now. Can't take 10.
Iseph moves to one of the newly reset consoles. He digs something caught between the seat cushion, and back of the chair, then holds up a small plastic keycard. "What's this?"
"How long ago was this? Have the remaining two been sacrificed yet?"
"It was cycles ago. Naw, they still alive down there. Killed the sacrificers good. Now they rule Exhaust Drinkers. "
Perception
Iseph: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Raia: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (14) + 0 = 14
Keskodai: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Obozaya: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (16) + 0 = 16
Keskodai and Chk-Chk |
"Exhaust Drinkers? Tell me more," Keskodai says, his moustache shifting to a concerned, pensive position. If these people'd taken over a local group, they may be less inclined to be rescued, maybe even hostile...
TK423 |
Tk423 assist Raia with the computer.
Computers: 1d20 + 6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 5 = 17
SD DM |
With Iseph's help Raia lays bare some of the computer's secrets.
You are now able to control some basic functions of the facility:
• Turn the hangar’s lights on and off.
• Activate or deactivate any electronically sealed doors.
• Silence the alarms pinging within the room.
• Pinpoint the source of the mysterious signal .
• Adjust the ambient temperature between 66° and 78° F.
You can also hook your computer into the wireless network to access the computers remotely.
And you find a second firewall. What could lie beyond that?
Going to need another computers check to hack the firewall.
SD DM |
"Exhaust Drinkers? Tell me more," Keskodai says, his moustache shifting to a concerned, pensive position. If these people'd taken over a local group, they may be less inclined to be rescued, maybe even hostile...
"We be -- we were Exhaust Drinkers. Our luck is gone when the longshanks came. Bad luck them. Will you take them away when you find them? "
Thundergun |
Raia calls Iseph, point him at avaliable functions and asks for additional aid to go through the firewall.
Computers to breach further: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16
Probably someting goes wrong here? Or can we try more if no countermeasures are found?
SD DM |
Raia mis-types a key on the computer and holds her breath, but apparently nothing happens.
Aid from Iseph isn't going to get you over the top. Let's see how Iseph rolls and maybe I'll take his as primary with you aiding.
TK423 |
Computers: 1d20 + 6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 5 = 17 I assume we still get the +5
"This program is a challenge." he says as his types on the keys.

"I'd like to, we honestly weren't certain if they were still alive...still, they may want to go home and if they do, we'd certainly be happy to. Their fate is their choice, just like yours was, though. We shall see. Can you direct us to where they are? We won't let them hurt you, obviously."

[dice=Computers]1d20+6+5 I assume we still get the +5
"This program is a challenge." he says as his types on the keys.
Iseph and Raia watch as the screens refresh and indicator lights on the consoles refresh. An amber light near a card port blinks.
You get the +5 for the duration of the scenario. Nothing else happens -- you may try again. Oh, and reread my post from Dec 3.
SD DM |

"They're down the moving room shaft, but the doors are shut tight. that's one of the miracles the green goddess would give us. She opened and closed some of the doors. "
Thundergun |
Maybe that can be handy to open a door. Or for this PC? Huh.. , - nods Technomancer, touching the card Iseph found.
Raia tries to gain access once more time, using goblin-code 5731170.
Computers: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23
Stay with us, be clam and maybe we will bring you miracle instead of your goddess, little fellow. - she says to goblin, playing with light power from console.
TK423 |
TK423 tries the card in the blinking slot.
"Perhaps your code is useful with this card."
He continues to help with the computer.

Keskodai nods.
"Thank you, Wingtooth."
Then he turns to the others, watching expectantly as they fiddle with the "goddess."
SD DM |
Iseph and Raia, the hacking duo, breach the firewall and gain more control over the computer and the facility's systems. There's a schematic of the hangar; an elevator across the hangar on the catwalk level descends to a lower level.
You can establish a portable link to the mainframe from a portable computer. Using your computer once per round as a standard action you can:
* control lights in any area of the hangar and lower level. You can turn them on, off, or strobe them.
*control gravity. You can momentarily turn off the gravity in a 10x10 sections of the complex.
*broadcast over the loudspeakers.

Obo steps in from outside. "No one else is coming. What's happening here?"
She steps beside Keskodai. "Thought you were going to help the ysoki?"
Thundergun |
-Thats gonna be fun. - comments Raia after recofigure remote controls. -Yeah, lets help the ysoki. Maybe Wingtooth knows where we can find ratfolky guy, ysoki? How do you think, should we make an announcement? Or maybe try to get everyone out from the facility?
Raia thinks around different approaches.
Now she suggests Iseph to check one far door. Moved my token closer. . Raia scans the door and waits for aid and opinions.
Keskodai and Chk-Chk |
"Oh right, Livewire's requests!" Keskodai says, clapping his forehead. "Wingtooth, would you please describe the 'longshanks' giving you trouble? Also, the pilot of the ship lost a tool-belt when jettisoning. Did any Exhaust Drinkers pick it up?
SD DM |
"Meanass pilot lost a toolbelt?! Thad be a pwerful totem. Sure we never found nothing like that. But we didn't get through all the wreck. The nose is still in pretty good shape" He points to the east end of the ground floor.
With a little prompting you can get him back onto your first query. "Longshanks. They were tall. Human lady and big lizardman. And then the other two. Never seen nothing like them. Bigger'n lizardman. Double trouble in a compact package."
SD DM |
"Moving on or not?" Obo follows Raia half way around the catwalk. She stops there and looks back and forth between the different parts of the party.
The lashunta finds no sign or tricks or traps on the door, and she is able to open it remotely with her linked computer.
A thick plume of steam rolls out from the freshly opened doors. After a moment, the steam evaporates, revealing a marked transition into an entirely different area—a section of an entirely different starship. Where the hangar bay had straight lines and smooth plastic walls, this elevator has exposed cords and wires in varying dark shades such as charcoal and umber.
So which ones died in the fight and which ones took over?"
"Lady and lizardman got shanked good. Boss and his little friend survived."
Keskodai and Chk-Chk |
"Which means Snips and Xalak-don are dead, and our survivors are Bago and Captain Borgor. Thanks again, Wingtooth."
Keskodai hustles to catch up with Obozaya and Raia and relays that information.

Keskodai and Chk-Chk |
Keskodai turns back and nods at Wingtooth, before returning to catch up with the others.
Thundergun |
Raia still thinks she is missing something. Smth is not right. SHe steps away from the vandaled lift cabin and get back to consloe. The goblin mentioned something can be still found here at the wreck, so Raia wants to take some more time here before proceed deeper.
Listen, Starfinders. I do not like this. I am thinking about using local loudspeakers to suggest anyone inside to come out to talk. Meanwhile I'd could do perform some magic with this old hard... Did I get it right, that survived boss and his friend? Bago and Borgor. Hm... , - the technomancer continues too look for something. SHe is ready to make a loud announcement, if fellows agree.
Keskodai and Chk-Chk |
Keskodai nods at Raia's words.
"I couldn't have said it better myself," he comments.
Literally, I probably wouldn't roll better!
Thundergun |
Raia spends time looking through the junk and suggesting Obo and Izeph to search the part of ship, which pointed the goblin as still untouched by them. After aproximately 15 minutes of silence, Raia says
Well, it was worth tryin. Lets go than. , - and she head to the strange lift cabin to look inside if. Raia afraid it can be trapped or malufactioning... after goblins everything is possible.
Pregen Dakoyo |
While waiting for a reply to Raia's broadcast, Obo follows the lashunta's suggestion to search the remains of the Archer. When she tries to pull a large twisted sheet of metal skin away from the bulkhead hatch, another piece above it slides down and looks like it will impale her. She's only just able to deflect the falling piece with the one in her hands.
The hatch is unpowered, but slides aside when Obo pushes on it to reveal a short corridor leading into a small control room, the cockpit of the Archer.
"Looks like this is fairly intact."
Strength: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Thundergun |
Raia hails Obozaya's keen eye and power. She carefully walkes into the control room and try to make system alive or at least tell some storie. retrieving data if possible.
Keskodai and Chk-Chk |
Keskodai follows Raia into the cockpit, and begins looking around for Livewire's tool-belt.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
TK423 |
"How long show we wait to see if they will show?"
SD DM |
Once inside the Archer's cockpit, Raia finds the ship's computers are damaged, but she can still access the control files for the final moments of the ship's life. They show hard maneuvering; some weapons fire; inconsistencies between the engine output and the ship's inertial state like another force was moving the ship; the controls being locked for straight flight; and just before the control file ends, a sudden acceleration, larger than the engines alone could achieve.
In addition there are some retrievable pieces of several audio logs from the Archer’s doomed crew.
One is recognizable as Liverwire: “It’s been a simple gig so far. Pilot the ship, flee the authority, get in and out. Sure, it’s tough being around that slag-head Borgor, but his brother’s attitude and constant apologizing goes a long way to make this gig palatable. Just 5,000 credits more. It’s all I need, and if what the captain says about Salvation’s End is true, this should be my last job.“
A clear, human female contralto, Snips? : “Aw yeah, I gets to kill things, and it’s good ‘cause my murder thirst needs quenching. I don’t like captain Borgor very much. I like his sniveling brother Bago even less. I swear if Bago says, “let’s just take another prisoner,” or “how ‘bout we just knock ‘em out” one more time, I’m gonna put that big lug in my crosshairs. Huh, that’d be two kills in one shot. Anyways, after this big score, I’d be in my rights to kill ‘em all and take the Archer myself. I’m sure I can convince ol’ Don to help me out.”
The slightly sibilant tones of a vesk, presumably Xalak-don: “Aw frag this, I got nuttin’ to say!“
Another partial log is recorded in a deep heavy voice: “I feel them slipping away. I think they’re planning a mutiny. I’ve been able to delay them—I promised after this next big score, they can all go their separate ways. I have no intention of sharing the spoils of this heist. I’m going to kill them all, one by one. What to do with my dear brother Bago? It’s just not a simple matter of murder with him. No, I’m gonna enslave his puny mind." That must be the captain, Borgor.
ANother entry is in Borgor's voice: “I picked up a rich score: something my contact called Salvation’s End. It seems this hunk of scrap holds all manner of riches inside. My contact said the salvage rights were just purchased by some group called the Starfinder Society, but by the time they arrive to investigate, I’ll have it picked clean!”
And the fifth voice has a cadence and accent similar to Borgor's, but with a slightly higher pitch. His first entry: “I’m done! I’m sick of my brother Borgor bossing me around. I’m sick of his talk about “kill or be killed.” It’s just so ruthless. It’s just...not me. I need to break free, but how—it seems impossible. Even recording this log without his constant peering over my shoulder is difficult.
His second entry: “I found a way to rid myself from my brother’s oppression, but it’s expensive. Maybe, just maybe, after this expedition to Salvation’s End, I can take my share and split for good.”
At the rear of the cockpit Keskodai notices a jammed locker. After being unable to open the locker easily by hand, Obo begins to attack its door with her doshko. Her heavy strikes echo in the confined cockpit.
Eventually she rips through the metal. Inside is a real leather tool harness embroidered with the name “Livewire.” The tools and devices strapped to the harness comprise a computer hacking kit. Anyone attempting to repair a computer with the Engineering skill receives a +2 bonus to the check while using these tools.
TK423 |
"How interesting, Snips talks about two kills with one shot. Then the talk about enslaving Bago's mind, and the talk about separation. Could this Bago and Borgor share the same body?"
Thundergun |
That's... possible. Maybe one of them is an AI or a spirit? Not sure... , - Raia thinks along this situation and probably even listen messages once more. ... and it hears like this Bago does not really happy about happening around. May be we could use him as an ally if he is able to somehow control himself.
Raia creates a short plan to resolve when the party ready to lift down. In general she wants to use local com system to communicate once more to get an ally...
After this Raia suggests to proceed to the elevator.
Keskodai and Chk-Chk |
Keskodai's mustache furrows as he listens to the dialogue.
"It's possible; some times spirits linger in our world and cling to their living family. Sometimes a person may struggle with a mind that seems to switch between two different personas or any number of other possible reasons. In any case, it does seem that Bago needs help, if he is still alive. We should remind him Livewire still cares about him; people like Borgor keep their victims under control by making them feel they're alone in the galaxy...but we may break that control by reminding Bago he's not."
He picks up the tool belt.
"We'd best secure this so we can return it to Livewire's family, once we're done here."
SD DM |
Obo just grunts during the discussion about the nature of Borgor and Bago.
Keskodai secures Livewire's harness.
Since it sounds like Keskodai's on board with a message, I'll assume Raia broadcasts it. You get no obvious response.
Everyone ready for the elevator then?
