Yan continues down the Southern passage, wary of enemies and sticking together so more people have chances to spot traps. He will stop and peer down the hallways that seems to be there about halfway across.

"We definitely need to come back and deal with this shrine when we know how."
He follows the others down the passageway.

Wonder what dark powers the altar holds the party heads down the corridor. There Stone sarcophagi carved with tormented, emaciated figures stand upright in alcoves along its walls. To the east, a fifteen-foot-wide portion of the wall has crumbled away into a series of ledges that drop down into a cavern. Eerie blue lights glow to the south.
Before you have a chance to get very far or investigate the fronts of the closest sarcophagi burst open as red eyed rotting putrid corpses armed with longswords emerge.

This long hall does at least not contain the overwhelming dread that the altar room did.
Standing in front of various other sarcophagi causes the lid to become transparent, providing a view of a long-dead body within. Each corpse is dressed in rags and marked with obviously fatal wounds.
The south end of the hall is blocked by a shimmering wall of blue ectoplasm. Now and then, silently shrieking ghosts flit through the swirling mist of this wall. The large stairwell down beyond remains visible yet tauntingly inaccessible.
It is clearly magical.
On the west wall, an empty alcove contains a catch that seemingly opens a secret door.
The stairs down to the east seem to head down to the close side of the mushroom wall.
There is sill a sense of unrest and unholiness in these halls, but surely there's at least enough time to catch your breath before venturing further.
