Dropping for Grimdog.
Turns out my level 1 characters have all played Wounded Wisp.
All those wounds. :P

Can everyone please also fill out the perception, sense motive etc textboxes in slide 1, fill out slide 2 and put your icon in the marching order with your character name.
Thanks
Will do so as soon as I have decided which character to use.
Would you prefer the monk or the paladin? Both are Level 1.
The monk has 0 XP - played a scenario (together with grimdog!) without getting a chronicle because I realized too late that I already played it with a different character)
The paladin has 1 XP.
Both characters can fill the role of a front liner.

I made my decision - the paladin it is.
Chronicle #: 2
Player: kaervek78 a.k.a. Chris N.
Character: Kurik
PFS #: 331079-3
Faction: Silver Crusade
Slow/Normal: Normal
Starting XP: 1
Initial Fame/PP: 2/2
Starting GP: 530.55
Day Job roll: none
Before we start Kurik wants to go shopping (needs to spend PP and gold).

scale mail (50g, 30lb)
bought:
wand of CLW (2PP); splint mail (200g, 45lb); Rope (silk, 50 ft.) (10g, 5lb); Holy Symbol, wooden (1g, 0lb); 2x Acid (10g, 1lb); 2x Alchemist's fire (20g, 1lb)

to whom it may concern:
First of all, I am not usually playing a char that is considered a face, but... I just had a look at all character sheets of this party.
As Kurik is the only char who has a bonus to Diplomacy checks (thanks to a +3 CHA-modifier), I accept that I have to adapt and take the role of the party face.
Luckily, there is an option for you to help without any penalty for failing: Aid Another (DC 10)
I suggest you try and use it in social situations to help us succeed because you literally cannot make things worse (not even when rolling a natural one).
Thank you!

(...) This is my first time playing pathfinder, but not my first time with ttrpgs in general
Welcome to Pathfinder Society! :-)
Please feel free to ask questions about the game anytime.I hope you do not consider the following question as unsolicited advice - I'm just curious:
Is there a specific reason (e.g. fluff) why you chose Profession (Scribe) as your day job skill?
I am asking because your character is a wizard (with a way higher INT than WIS), so a Craft day job would earn more gold. And ratfolk get a +2 racial bonus on Craft (Alchemy), so your day job bonus would be +11 instead of +5.
Sure, you would not be able to use it for anything else. But my level 6 cleric has Profession (Scribe) and it has not come up in a scenario so far...
Ranks assigned to Craft skills are used only to perform Day Job checks, not to craft mundane items, with the following exceptions.
- Alchemists can use Craft (alchemy).
- Gunslingers can use Craft (gunsmithing).
- Investigators can use Craft (alchemy).
As long as your character is level 1 you can rebuild him for free.
1st-level characters may be rebuilt per the rules in Appendix 1: Character Creation.

Scribe just seemed more like a scholarly, wizardy thing to do. I was going for a more academic vibe, plus Skommot is supposed to be a very organized person, so I thought a profession involving the organization of documents would be a nice fit.

Cool!
Thanks for the quick answer! :-)

I like you, Eldon. And it's only a mead, Zandu...it would take a lot more than that to effect me... the half elf says as he takes a pull from his mug.
In case you (or anyone else) was unaware, text in italics is meant to portray the thoughts of the character, it isn't spoken out loud. So to Petro, the most you would know is I brushed past you with a slightly annoyed look and asked the barkeep if they were the person we were looking for. The bit about drinking on mission was internal monologue.

Can you all place yourself in Area 10 on the map and please always move you icons when you post and describe your actions.
Thanks
Done.
@all:
I took the liberty and copied the icons of everyone from the second page to the first page. You just have to move your icon to the room.
Also remember: Whenever the map gets screwed up, the <UNDO> button is your friend. ;-)

Sorry for the newbie question, but do I need ranks in the knowledge skills or disable device in order to use them? I don't happen to have ranks in K. Engineering or disable device unfortunately, so I'm not sure if I can use them.

Sorry for the newbie question, but do I need ranks in the knowledge skills or disable device in order to use them? I don't happen to have ranks in K. Engineering or disable device unfortunately, so I'm not sure if I can use them.
It varies by the skill. If you go to the skill page and it says "Trained Only" (as it does here for Disable Device) then you have to be trained in the skill in order to use it. By contract, perception doesn't say "Trained Only", so anybody can run that check.
Knowledge skills are a unique case. The page here does say "Trained Only", but in the page it further expands to say "You cannot make an untrained Knowledge check with a DC higher than 10". So in this case you could not try to make the K. Engineering check, since the DC is too high, but if the DC were 10 or less you could. To the best of my knowledge, no other skills have such a caveat, they are either Trained Only or they are not.

List of leads, first draft:
1) stonemason Arkath, dead, key hidden at his mausoleum in the Ivy Distric
2) gnome Fimbrik (also dead?), member of the Arcanamirium (local wizard's guild), his home address is in the files
3) Wall of Names:
- Doulgonlir Caskmail
- Mollis 'Evil Grin' Thorne
- Karina Clamp

In rereading the handouts, it doesn't say there is a key hidden in the mausoleum, it says there is a key clue hidden in the mausoleum. So not a literal key, but instead an important clue of some sort, right?

Oops, my bad! :-o
In my defense, Kurik is not very bright... ;-)

@GM Nowruz
Now that we are at the Wall of names, how big the wall is? Is it realistic to just go and search for the names? In case it's not, we can find out when these Pathfinders died and find them that way.
