Yellow did take some damage from being grappled. Was Red Grappled though? You didn't beat its CMD?

I agree that only yellow got grappled, so only they took tentacle damage. But I saw two halberd attacks above, so it seemed like both red and yellow were attacking. But the combat maneuver for yellow to break the grapple was its action for the round.

IIRC Bharak had 16 damage exactly and Elathras had less so they should be full. @Elathras the rerolling 20's only lasts 1 round unless you have the same magical necklace Bharak does, in which case it's two rounds. And inspired rage is from the skald song so those 2 are probably gone. The other two buffs are minutes/level which were cast upon entering the mansion from outside. We also probably still have Fly active on all of us from Axton's wand, though I don't know the CL/duration of it.

None of the doors are trapped. Takes a minute to search and area for traps.

No encounters in these rooms so I'll do them all at once.

A17. SHRINE
Against the far wall of this small chamber stands a small shrine made out of interlocking gears, topped with an artistic mask of a female face formed from metal plates. The two walls to either side hold long tapestries, one of a naked clockwork woman reaching down from a cloud to lift up a young man in robes, and another showing the same man standing triumphantly on the shoulders of an enormous humanoid machine as it stomps
across a crowded market place. A mat sits on the floor before the shrine, a bowl of incense overturned in front of it. Both the tapestries are ripped and askew, and the shrine itself is dented.

Knowledge Religion DC15:

successful DC15 Knowledge (religion) check identifies this as a shrine to Brigh, the Whisper in the Bronze, goddess of inventors and constructs.

One of Berkanin's previous schemes for the quick acquisition of power involved finding religion-the man depicted in both tapestries is him, as
he commissioned the works from an artist at the Lyceum in Oriat.

Berkanin's flirtation with spirituality didn't last long, though, quickly turning to rage and disgust hence the damage to the tapestries and shrine.

Loot:
The incense in the bowl is incense of meditation, barely used.

A18. SERVANT'S QUARTERS
This air in this room is a heavy mix of perfume and animal stink. In one corner lies a mass of fine blankets and pillows that have been slashed and raked into a crude nest. In another stands a vanity with a tall mirror and an impressive array of crystal perfume bottles. Between the two, a wooden trunk sits against the wall. Feathers and streaks of white litter the floor.

Treasure:
The perfumes on the vanity are worth 50gp in total.

The trunk is locked (a successful DC30 Disable Device check), and
inside are the harpy's most treasured possessions: the human skull from her first kill (back when she lived in an aerie on the Lost Coast), a masterwork ukulele for accompanying her singing,
a Golembane scarab wrapped in cloth (kept as insurance against betrayal by Berkanin),
and a leather-bound journal. The journal is filled primarily with the harpy's mundane thoughts and rants, written in scrawling Common, but anyone who spends a minute flipping through it quickly realizes that the harpy took the job primarily to be close to Kanya, with whom she's
hopelessly infatuated and wants to become "nest mates."

A19. Office
This is a small office with a window looking out over the garden and district. A desk holds stacks of documents, blank paper, and other writing materials. A large silver mirror hangs on one wall.

The papers here mostly cover various purchases demanded by Berkanin's experiments, including the sourcing of several expensive components by someone named Dakar.

Treasure: A locked cash box (a successful DC30 Disable Device check) stashed in the desk holds the manor's petty cash-500gp.
The rest of Berkanin's funds are secured in various banks and repositories around the city.

The looking glass on the wall is magically linked to the eyeball arch in area A1, and touching it causes the eyes to open, transforming the mirror's surface into a view of the area in front of the arch. This magical mirror only looks out into area A1-it is worth 2500gp.

Rooms cleared, only the catwalk left. How are you doing it?

Is the incense bowl in A17 still warm, indicating that someone turned it over recently? Also, we didn't come up to the house level via A1, but I'm assuming that the scrying mirror looks out past A2, which is where we flew/climbed up.

Seeing the large mirror in the office, Axton casts detect magic on it, necessitating that he touch it. When he sees that it reveals the area where the party landed on this property, he exhales in resignation, causing his mustache to flare out.

"Looks like they fled as soon as we got here. Presumably preparing to defend the prize we've come to rescue. And it seems like there's a harpy on the premises for some reason?"

Mine was to dance, at least until I took up drawing recently. We'd either teach it to others or give performances. A moment of positivity, to forget one's struggles. To make the world a slightly prettier or happier place." Her features grow wistful. "Sometimes, I miss those simpler days. It's been a very long time since I actually danced..."

Shaking her head, she looks at the incense and takes it with her. "Sorry, I didn't mean to grow all sentimental." She chuckles. When Bharak opens the lockbox in the next room, Elena goes through the journal while the rest of the treasure is catalogued. "Yes. Vergun told us that Berkanin's major domo was a harpy named Herifax. This is probably her room. From the looks of things..." The Shelynite's features soften. "...Oh. It seems she took this position out of love for Berkanin's lover, Kanya. So... a love triangle? I wonder if that worked out... regardless, perhaps that's how they captured the troll, using her song to enthrall his mind. Maybe we should prepare and cover our ears."

Unsure if that helps or not but Elena will tie her shawn around her ears.

If Axton is right that they withdrew and already have scrying abilities setup elsewhere, they might know where we are and this might be a good place to ambush us somehow. But I suppose we don't have an alternative. Do we go all at once or one group of 3 and then another of 2?" She looks around for any suggestions or anyone else wanting to make more preparations. Then she takes out the wand of protection from evil and taps everyone with it as the group presumably starts moving across.

Presuming a line order of Bharak in front, I'll cast shield of faith on him now too. +3 deflection ac for 8 minutes. Everyone has protection from evil for between 6 and 10 rounds before we enter the hallway. Regardless of how we move, Elena will want to be in the first group to be able to heal the frontline if something goes wrong. And to dispel invisibility with the purge effect.

A20. CATWALK
A wide masonry catwalk with railings on either side slopes upward from an open archway in the manor's southern tower to a balcony and a closed door in the smaller northern tower.
Above, open windows in the northwestern tower flicker with flashes of colored light.

Below the catwalk, the roof is flat. The catwalk is 5 feet above the roof at its southeastern end, and 10 feet above at the northwestern end.

The catwalk is solid and stable at first but as you advance along it you feel the supports retract and it becomes a wobbly platform that shifts and twists with each step placed upon it.

DC12 Acrobatics check to not fall prone when taking a step. :)

There is a loud shriek and a Harpy dressed in a very mismatched outfit steps out onto A21 and fires a shot at Bharak

Bharak grunted, more in surprise than pain, as the shot hit him straight in the chest. Fortunately, the breastplate absorbed the impact. Glowering, he advanced with hammer in hand.

Is our CL7 Fly from the wand from just before entering the mansion still active? I think we only thoroughly searched the last rooms on this floor in favor of speed so I assume we still have it, but let me know if not.

Seeing Bharak charge up by himself, Elena hopes her earlier shielding spell and healing on him will be enough for now, then turns to Elathras. "Be careful. It looks slippery. Maybe fly if you still can?" She suggests, then grants him luck.

Bit of luck on Elathras. He can roll all d20's twice for round. Also, Bharak was healed from a channel for 16 and then granted shield of faith +3 for 8 minutes. That should increase his AC and remove the prior 16 damage to that arrow just now.

Bharak needs to make an Acrobatics check to charge. It isn't difficult terrain technically, but unless you are balanced you fall over as it wobbles with your movement.

"It does looks slippery." Agreeing with Elena, Elathras Watches Bharak's low center of gravity propel him across the swinging bridge. Hoping his height and being generally uncoordinated wouldn't inhibit him, Elathras tries to do the same. Initially flopping to the left he almost drops his polearm, but with a bit of luck he continues moving, trying to get beside the dwarf and off of the bridge.

Double move sorry, surprise round, he moves 20 ft.

"Maybe I should go easy on them and not somersault across here..." Elena thinks as Axton and Uma immediately fall down and Bharak and Elathras seem to barely make it there. Sure, it WAS slippery and they were high up, but it was still five feet wide. Compared to some forms of gymnastic dancing, that was a canyon.

Oh well. Silence was golden.

Bharak ignores the unstable footing and sprints up to hit the Harpy hard. [/ooc]:)[/ooc].

The rest of the party aside from Elena show less grace.

We now go to initiatives.

Did Umazura start inspiring rage? It sounded like everything else had expired.

"Well struck!" Pleased that his friend was able to wound the Harpy, Elathras wanted to do his part. Tapping his heels together to activate the boots, Elathras steps forward, issuing his challenge to the Harpy, "Have at thee foul beast!" Thrusting his Keen Guisarme at the creature repeatedly.

Axton uses the catwalk's ropes and railing to stand up and move forward (if he can). He's not too worried about the harpy anymore since Bharak and Elathras are *ahem* having at them, but he wants to be ready in case a new enemy appears.

Yes. My bad. I forgot to put the numbers up for it.

Inspired rage: +4 morale bonus to Strength and Constitution and a +3 morale bonus on Will saving throws, but also take a –1 penalty to AC.

Harifax is still reeling from Bharak's savage blow when Elathras continues their lethal partnership and spits her on his Guisarme. Killing her instantly.

The door beside her opens and a female Catfolk steps out. "I'm here Harifax!" She calls then sees what she's walked into, "Oh f%%&!"

AOO for Bharak & Elathras as her action was to open the door and run out.

Then everybody else can take their action.

Ok, seriously do not let Elathras & Bharak get close to anything. Ranged and arcane from now on...

I'm sorry, what? Bharak has some unknown god feat/ability that allows him to add his to hit roll to his damage roll on an AoO? :O

Elena winces at the brutal bloodshed, going a bit grey in the face. For a moment she considers offering mercy, to bring back the harpy with her scroll of Breath of Life and allow them to leave under condition of surrender. Were they not humanoids like them, with their own desires and love between them? Did they really deserve to be butchered so ruthlessly over kidnapping this troll?

Unfortunately, there were only seconds to decide. Thoughts of whether the troll Seer would want these people dead with no witnesses warred with whether Berkanin alone was enough to take the fall and then whether her loyalty to the wellbeing of her friends - holding onto the scroll vs using it - weighed up against her sense of morality. And oh goddess that was a lot of gore and the stench -

...And the moment was lost, now decidedly too late to use said scroll. Mere seconds. A lesson for a later time, if a fellow pathfinder ever needed one.

"...You can still honor her memory by laying down your arms. Surrender and tell us where Berkanin and the missing Troll are. You will lead us there. Please comply. I would not wish to anger Shelyn by denying surrender to one who asks for it." She tells the catfolk.

Delay.

Are you sure you want to do that?

Now that Elathras & Bharak have had their AOO's everyone can act before Yellow. Elena has offered her a chance to surrender. What is everyone else doing?
