Threzlomn Cinderfall |
Seeing no threats on this side, nor any of the relics. Threz moves over to the other side and checks out what might be there instead, magically scanning as he goes. He does draw his gun and keep it charged just in case.
Ziyass |
Happy at being joined by more of the group, Ziyass moves up next to Jim, waiting to see what is around the corner.
GM Wolffauer |
Threzlomn continues to scan around the second power grid and locates a second artifact. Unfortunately the artifact is in the middle of the arcing electricity...
Gunnz |
Gunnz heads north, looking down the passage at the "top right" of the structure.
"Lets just hope it is not another brain-in-jar" she says to anyone who cares to listen.. before slinking into the shadows. Just in case.

"Can we shut down the arcing electricity on the control console?"
GM Wolffauer |
Big Jim calls back to Gil-Oloth and has them disable the western powergird. Using the successful computer check
With the power off, it is a simple job to retrieve the second artifact.

Meanwhile, Gunnz heads down the north eastern corridor.

Ziyass shudders at hearing the firing of the laser and then the sounds of Gunnz being hurt. She quickly moves to where she can see her, knowing that Threzlomn already went around the center pillar safely earlier and checking to see if she needs to help Gunnz move out of range.
Gunnz |
"Yowzer!" screams Gunnz as the lasers melt through her armour.
"That hurt!"
GM Wolffauer |

The seemingly unending roaring stops suddenly as the tekenki’s hulking frame lurches wildly.
Ven grabs the second relic, while Ziyass runs off to locate Gunnz.

Moving cautiously, she spies the pair of motion sensors that Gunnz missed. They can be disabled with two engineering checks (one for each laser) They haven't reset yet, so Ziyass is able to get Gunnz back to safety.

Big Jim has a look at the laser control system and gets to work.

Threz gives a small jump as he gets startled by the giant blasts of lasers fire... a good full minute after they go off. The dwarf clearly having lost his position in time for a moment. He gives a shake and comes back to everyone elses 'present time' and gives the smoking Gunnz a worried look. "I'm tempted to go looking for artifacts down the other hallway but I'm an older dwarf and I don't think that I'd handle massive laser fire half as well as our smoking gun. Anyone want to take a look with me and make sure that way ain't trapped too?"

While Ven and Threz head to the western corridor, Big Jim disables the second pressure sensor in the eastern corridor.
With the path cleared, Gunnz, Big Jim and Ziyass are able to explore the rest of the corridor. At the end is another brain vat. You search the area but find nothing of interest.
To the west, the combined efforts of Ven and Threz spot matching pair of pressure sensors, and halt their progress until some engineering help arrives. Further ahead in the kill zone lies a body.
Ziyass |
Ziyass tries to move Jim and Gunnz along to the other side of the central column, wary of any more traps. "If we stay close to this, guys, it seems safe. Threzlomn came this way earlier." She will follow them when they go to the other side.
Threzlomn Cinderfall |
Threz calls out. "We have another body over here! It could be that the last artifact was being carried by this man. But there are traps as well. Anyone want to try and disable them for us?"
Gunnz |
The slightly singed Gunnz nods toward Big Jim.
"You take the lead big boy. I'll offer you a hand."

Jim makes short work of the two pressure sensors, allowing the team to proceed forward and examine the body. You can tell that this is a human who died within the last couple of days. Their corpse’s injuries are horrific, and their limbs are only a mess of congealed gore.
The body has a distinct lack of identifying documentation or insignias on their clothing, but you do find a personal comm unit which has somehow survived the ordeal. Computers check to dig through it

Threzlomn Cinderfall |
Threz gives a chuckle. "Yeah, these idiots might actually have been dumb enough to do that..." He casts his eye back to that one time in his life where he could see magic once again, and wanders closer ti what he assumes is another brain jar.
GM Wolffauer |
Oddly enough, the password, was "password". Flipping the check and aid, to hit the DC 32 You discover reams of digital reconnaissance date about the Starfinder Society, the Lorespire Complex, and the Safe where the stolen relics resided. You know Radaszam and the folks back home will want to see this.
Threz explores the north west corner and confirms the presence of another brain vat, but finds no traces of the final relic.
Ziyass |
Realizing that there's only one place left for the last relic to be hidden, Ziyass moves in that direction, wary of the reason why it would be there. She calls out to Threzlomn. "Hey, Threz, can you please see if you can tell if the last relic is down in this final corner. There will probably be another brain jar for you to look at, if the plan for this monstrosity makes any sense. But don't get too close. There might be more of those weapon-wielding oozes down there like the last time."
Then she nudges Ven with her mind.
'Big Jim' |
"Goos finds so far - hopefully the last relic then we can escape this thing - just hope we don't get tagged in the crossfire as we skedaddle"
Threzlomn Cinderfall |
Threz keeps his younger eyes active and wanders down the corridor. Looking in that last little spot.
Venizandrikal |
Ven follows behind Threz protectively.
Gunnz |
"Speaking of the last artefact, we need to find a way out as well.." notes Gunnz.
"I just hope the survivor of this battle is too badly damaged to want to follow us."
Ziyass |
"Wait a moment. Gunnz, if I remember what Gil-Oloth said earlier about the console she was hacking, one of the choices was to open the hatch. That will probably be our way out." Ziyass hopes anyway.
Gunnz |
"I recalled that too. But I thought she only had time to activate one function..." says the slightly concerned Gunnnz.
GM Wolffauer |
Threz continues scanning the corridor leading to the final brain vat, with Ven right behind.
As he approaches the vat, two creatures appear from shadows and attack.
