Ziyass yowls at the sharpwing, irritated at being bitten, and swings powerfully at this winged foe. She spends 3 EP to add to damage.

Threzlomn stops when the sharpwings pop out, startled and clearly not ready for them, he freezes in place and almost starts to seemingly phaze out of existence. After Ven takes a hit for him though, his face gives the barest hint of a twitch before it claws it's self into a look of grim determination, the dwarf clawing himself back to this time and reality. Once he's back to breathing and moving freely, he gives a look over at Ven and nods, "Sorry about that. Self-defense mechanism but tends to lead to unexpected things and I'd rather avoid those. Thank you for covering for me. Now just a second."

The dwarf then takes a step back and whips out a giant cannon shaped weapon, lined along the inside with near fifty large and antiquated cathode resisters. Along the side of the weapon is etched 'The Silencer'. He hefts the weapon up takes aim and then fires a line of electricity at the sharpwing that had been threatening him.

Cathode Cannon, Advanced vs EAC: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
Electricity Damage: 2d12 + 8 ⇒ (8, 4) + 8 = 20
He gives a grin at his shot and pats the cannon on the side. "Old Si-ly here was originally made to intimidate any unruly and obnoxious dwarves in the library. Looks scary, gives a good warning jolt, doesn't harm paper. But she does a great job scaring off enemies too!"

Ven grabs the sharpwing's face with one claw as it tries to bite him. He then grabs its claw with his other. Unfortunately this leaves its other claw an opening and it rakes solidly across Ven's back. He roars loudly as blood begins oozing forth from the wound.

Ven faces the sharpwing while still holding it. He opens his great maw, looking as if he might take a bite. He then intakes a massive breath and exhales, engulfing the creature in an inferno.

Feeling a little foolish, Gunnz dashes towards the red Sharpwing, before firing off another shot.

Threzolmn charges up 'Old Si-ly' again and then turns to check out both of the sharpwings harrying the group, slightly disappointed he ended up between enemies, when his trusty weapon was built to harry multiple enemies in a line.

If either of the two are still up he'll shoot, targeting red first, if neither is then uh console?

Ven engulfs the second one in flames and it shrivels up to a crisp. Dead even if it saved

With the sharpwings dead, and the team away from the old valko, you are safe from immediate danger - at least for now.

Both Ziyass and Ven need some medical help to stop their bleeding.

Seeing that Jim already helped Ven and Ziy to patch their bleeding wounds she says from her couch.

Ven gestures his head over toward Ziyass when he sees Jim pulling out the first aid kit. His head then shifts toward Gil, "Do what you need to do. Let's make sure we are fully prepared before we attract the attention of colossi."

After Jim treats Ven's scratch, Ven gives Jim a nod and a "Thank you."

Ziyass sighs and glares Ven. "I'm fine!" Then, glancing at the vesk, she thanks him for the treatment.

Threzolmn gives a small shudder as he takes a small glance into the timeline that could have been if Ven hadn't been on guard. "Thanks for helping there, Venizandrikal, it would not have been a pretty sight if you hadn't been there. But you are right we should avoid attracting attention to ourselves until we are ready. I'm just going to go and examine the machine over there, we can switch it on when everyone is ready."

He trundles over to the emitter and then examines it with his eyes only.

She settles on top of one of the coral spirals and does her best to blend in.

Likely last post from me for a week. Gunnz will aid-another on any skill she can, which is basically everything. As a jack-of-all-trades she is effectively trained in everything. Other than that, if there is combat, hit -and -run.

Threzolmn examines the beacon on the dome, but can't tell much about it. It will need some hands on computer work to be reactivated

The working beacon atop the old valko is emitting a high pitched whine, which is easier to hear now that the shooting has stopped. Luku joins Threzolmn on the dome, "If we can these other two working, we'll be able to attract your tekenki for sure."

Gunnz cautiously enters the cave, trying to remain unnoticed as she does so.

However the heat shimmer still messes with her, and she almost trips over a rock.

Threz gives up on the beacon, it very much not something he could fix with his eyes. Instead he tromps back to the caves and sticks his head inside before, quietly (at least for a dwarf) lowering himself in and taking a look around.

Gunnz and Threz descend into the caves and locate the sharpwing nest. It is empty of any more creatures, and their search of the area uncovers nothing of interest.

After gathering herself and acknowledging that Gil-Oloth was able to get the first beacon working, Ziyass moves into position between the coral tree and the caves, hoping that nothing else jumps out at them.

You've got two more beacons to try to get up and running. Accessing the one to the southeast is easy at this point. Need a Computers check along with whatever aid folks want to offer.

Accessing the one in the coral requires climbing back up there (50' climb, Athletics check every round, Reflex check every two rounds) or flying up (Reflex check to reach past the coral to the beacon).

Luku Gaiul can only help one of you at a time, so if you split up again let me know where you want him.

I think we're probably best stacking on and having Gil make the attempts - the DC's are really too high to get away with splitting up.

Let's get the south east going and then move to the northern one.

Threz takes a moment to stare of into the distance, eyes unfocused as he seems to fiddle at the open air with his fingers.

"Hrmmm, you need to cut the... blue wire, and then... uh ... re-sodder it into the...... socket where the..... yellow wire is currently before it will.... turn on."

After the rest, Gil-Oloth gets back all her SP and the couch gets back 8HP

Knowing that it will be difficult to access the one hidden in the coral and knowing that there was no need to activate the three beacon, the couch moves Gil-Oloth next to the southern one.

As soon as her couch moves close enough for her to work on the beacon from her couch she starts doing her magic.

Big Jim joins Gil-Oloth and Threz to get the second beacon up and going. Figuring in an auto-aid from Big Jim to hit the DC

A high-pitched whine blares from the two lifepulse beacons. In mere moments, the ground begins to rhythmically rumble—softly at first, and then louder and more forcefully, as if a mighty earthquake were shaking the land. Cresting over the horizon strides a six-legged mechanical monstrosity that would dwarf any building in New Valor. A deafening whirring sound rends the air as the creature’s eyeless head turns laser‑like toward the tiny heroes scampering on the ground. “There she is!” screams Luku Gaiul as he laughs maniacally, spittle streaming from his mouth. “There’s your tekenki!”

More earthquake-like shocks shake the ground as, this time in the opposite direction, another massive horror comes into view. Seemingly straight out of a nightmare, this bipedal behemoth is covered in chitinous plates, its beady red gaze glowing from an armored skull underneath what looks like a crown of teeth. “More company!” Gaiul exults, still screaming in glee. “We’ll have a tekenki-kyokor fight on our hands, my friends!”

In a matter of seconds, the beasts see each other. In a split second of eerie stillness, only a guttural growl and the clanging of what sounds like a readying machine gun echoes. The kyokor raises its clawed arms, and the tekenki’s body armor visibly shifts, revealing a telltale opening in its chest and belly. “There!” Gaiul shouts, pointing at the opening. “There’s your target!”

Suddenly, the air itself explodes into motion. The two colossi barrel toward each other, roaring in a nightmarish cacophony. The colossi battle is about to commence!

The ground shakes as the two creatures charge. Everyone on the ground give me Reflex Save vs DC 24 or fall prone.

Gaiul expertly rides the rocking ground and makes his way to his vehicle. Radaszam takes a tumble while laughing in glee. “What a way to feel alive!” the vesk faction leader shouts. “I knew this would be the mission of a lifetime!”

"You've got about two minutes before that opening shuts," calls Gaiul. "Get a move on!"

For those of you on foot, it will take two rounds to get to and in the vehicle (more if you need time to stand up). Once there Gaiul can pilot you under the tekenki, but you will need to time the release of the vehicle's propulsion pod just right to be propelled up to the entrance (Engineering check DC 35). If you fail the check, you'll need to reset and re-enter the pod (+1 round) before trying again.

Finally, no matter how you get to the opening (flying, pod, etc), you need to give me a reflex save to make it inside the moving target without getting banged up.

Despite his sturdy dwarven body, quick and flexible reactions and foresight, Threzlomn still bites the dust as the big creatures start to shake the ground. He stands up and dusts himself off, before looking over at Ven. "Should I take the pod, or do you think you can carry me? If there's a choice in the matter I'd rather you could take me than trying the device I haven't had an opportunity to examine and likely can't react half as well."

For a few seconds, Gil-Oloth is amazed of the sight of the two beasts, ready to attack each other. Then, she remembers that she need to get inside one of them to not be crushed forerer by one of them.

She commands her couch to fly close enough to the tekenki and flies inside the opoening.

Gil-Oloth's couch starts to fly towards the opening and with pure luck, is able to do it in one go!

Looks like Jim and Gil-Oloth are the only ones with a chance of launching the pod successfully. Gunnz and Ziyass have jet packs. Venizandrikal can grab Threzlomn and carry him up.

Sure - after you are in the tekenki you should be able to look out and trigger the pod when it is lined up with you.

Ven gives Threz a nod and grabs him with both claws just under his arms. The ground beneath the two craters slightly as the large dragonkin jumps into the air and beats his great wings. Now airborne, the two fly toward the opening in the tekenki.

"Together, we are not small!" Ven yells to Threz over the colossal combat. Threz, being so close to Ven can feel his word reverberate through his body. "I will try to protect you!"

With that, Ven beats his wings even harder to gain height. After establishing a trajectory that is too high, he gives one final strong beat, aims a little lower, and then, at the last moment, wraps his wings around his charge while plummeting through the opening.

With your permission GM, I'd like to take the full damage in Threz's stead if he failed.

Threz gives ya small whoop of joy as the normally stoic dwarf and dragonkin take off from the ground. After a moment though his joy dies in his throat, as anyone looking can see his face go pale as he sees how far he has to fall. He gives a very slight nod at the dragonkin's words "Mhmm. Yeah. Not small." He seems to try taking his mind off the situation and instead focus on possible futures. This proves a bad idea, going near white and shuddering some at some of the futures he sees.

He gives a small sigh of relief to see that Ven is coming in for a landing, and focuses on getting into the beast as well and fast as he can.

Gil-Oloth flies up to the tekenki where her couch threads the needle enters the beast safely.

A moment later Gunnz comes jetting in at a break neck pace. She bounces off the armored panel and into the wall just inside the opening.
Taking Oof!: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 6, 5) = 22 bludgeoning and Ouch!: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 1, 2) = 12 slashing damage.

Ven and Threz come through next, with Ven expertly flying through the opening. No need for Threz to make the save, as he is a passenger for this.

Ziyass is right behind them, but the tekenki lurches upward as she approaches, causing her to slam into the floor.
Taking Oof!: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 4, 3) = 12 bludgeoning and Ouch!: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 2, 4) = 13 slashing damage.

Finally, Gaiul maneuvers his vehicle under it allowing Big Jim an opportunity to launch the pod with himself and Buster. At the apex of the their flight they jump into the tekenki. Buster makes it through the opening, but Jim clips the edge.
Taking Oof!: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 1, 6) = 13 bludgeoning and Ouch!: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 2, 1) = 8 slashing damage.

You shake yourselves off and start to take a look around at your surroundings. With a massive shudder of the entire beast’s body, the breach in the tekenki’s armor closes, revealing a greenish glow throughout this bizarre environment. These are indeed the mechanical creature’s guts, but the surroundings look neither entirely technology nor biological. The advanced machinery appears to be covered in what look like pulsing, dark-green polyps. A narrow corridor ahead offers no clues as to the nature of this place—it simply leads deeper into the tekenki’s guts.

After threading through the opening, Ven quickly extends his wings and beats two strong wing beats lowering himself and Threz to the floor of the chamber.

"That went w-" he begins to rumble when the others fly in seemingly trying to play pong with the walls of the tekenki.

He waits a moment for their movement to ensure that they are okay before rumbling softly, but seriously, "Normally I would suggest we take a moment to recover from that entrance, but we do not have much time. Be wary and stay close." He then adds resolutely, "I will protect you."
