Inverting the energy of her goddess, she attempts to draw the fire out from the Dino Fiend, stepping into the center of the room.

Scratch hustles over to the far side of the room, reloading as he goes. He takes one extra step to clear the doorway and fires a bolt through the crowd. "If ya feel a sting to the buttocks it totally wasn't me..." He warns Urdda and Utek.

Renthiel analyzes the situation, takes a step and then strikes with his sword cane.

The dino-like fiend seems to be quite susceptible to Torra's ray of frost as it freezes the scales. Scratch's bolt shatters through the rime covered patch breaking into soft flesh beneath.

Renthiel should have taken a moment longer to analyze the situation as his can misses. Rearing back his head the dino-fiend screeches as it sends chills down your spines.

Back in the fight, Bangy centers himself so as to inspire a greater proportion of his teammates "Get in here Scratch!" he yells "You're not scared of it!" boosting the morale of adjacent allies, it is unclear if in stating this Bangy is trying to convince himself or you!

Scratch takes a cautious step closer to Bangy, reloading his crossbow as he goes "Ehhh, I can see it just fine from here.. I know what that spear can do man." He fires and reloads.

While Utek's stone misses Renthiel sticks his sword through Gargzith's eyes and into the dinosaur's brain, crippling it. Among the corpses you find:

After the dinosaur falls, Renthiel rushes over to Bangy to look over his wounds.

"Bangy, are you alright?"

"Nope!"

But before anyone makes him hold still, our ysoki hero is already rifling through the goods, passing up the weapons, camping supplies and jewels but pausing on the bottles marked "Ghoul Prevention" and after brief consideration, pocketing one of them...

Scratch wipes some heavy sweat off his sun burnt forehead and lets out a labored breath "Maybe we need ta spend a few ticks here and rest up, let Torra MD stitch up a few of these spear holes and munch on some of this dried coon jerky."

He takes his time browsing the newly liberated equipment and adds "Bet those c&@~~@++%*s are here right now somewheres by the looks of this gear." He starts bandaging himself up, letting Torra handle Bangy's sad state.

Before Scratch can get his hands on Urdda, the gnome has already put her instead under her expert care - she points to Utek.

Where to after you heal up?

Utek is still at 39/64 hp! Is it possible to have Scratch heal?

Utek moans as he watches his companions get patched up. "Quite the fight everyone. Those dinos didn't know what hit'm." Utek lets out a slight laugh before groaning some more and holding his side.

"I wonder what's in that room." Utek points to the room to the east, peeking inside, and noticing the door to the north. "I say we continue this way."

Though not quite yet back to his usual self, the thrill of the fight did put some pep back into our ysoki hero's step, sitting still for Torra for half an hour with Freerat poking his head out and sniffing around.

Popping up, he grabs his shortbow, and follows Utek into the eastern room, careful now to look for further traps.

"Prolly gonna leave a scar but heck, chicks dig scars right?"

After resting up Scratch follows the others into the east room, eyes searching for anything.

"Renthiel, Urdda - which way should we go?"

"Well," Renthiel replies as he stands up from being next to Bangy, "There is a door right there we haven't gone through. That one is as good as another."

With all of the healing you have along with Continual recovery and ward medic we don't need to worry too much about healing checks in between combats unless we are in a time crunch sort of situation.

Pushing to the north this irregularly shaped room provides a good view into the weed-choked streets of Holy Xatramba. Two long-dead corpses, each with skin the purple of a livid bruise and a strange rune adorning their bare chests, hang from the ceiling’s wooden beams.

Bangy assesses the runes, but draws a blank.

He keeps his eye out for more traps.

"Curious..," Renthiel mumbles as he looks on at the hanging corpses. "Angazhan earlier and Zura now...that, accompanied with being in the Mwangi..."

The elf turns to his allies, "That symbol on their chest is of Zura as Torra says. While vampires are one group of her worshippers, so too are the Bekyar tribes of the Mwangi. The Bekyar tribes are known to worship Angazhan, Dagon, and Zura. As we have seen some symbols of Angazhan recently, and these corpses are unlikely to be vampires, I conclude, because the bodies are very likely meant to be a warning...We are likely in a Bekyar tribe's territory."

Urdda shrugs. “Then let’s find that guardian statue, grab it, and leave. Simple.”

Utek shudders at the thought of vampires. "I abhor the undead. Demons too.". He looks at Mita who jiggles on Utek's shoulder.

"Let's move cautiously. Demon worshipers should be feared. Who knows what tricks they have up their sleeves."

Jumps out of his ysoki master's pocket, scurries over to Torra, nibbles a crumb from her boot, and then dashes back into the safety of the pocket...

"Yep, Zura, the Vampire Queen, is the demon lord of blood, cannibalism, and vampires. According to legend, she is the reincarnated form of an Azlanti queen who indulged in blood rites and acts of cannibalism in a quest for eternal life. After death, she was reborn as a unique vampiric succubus who quickly ascended to the status of demon lord. Though many of her cults died out with the Azlanti empire, Zura is still worshipped by vampires and those aspiring to become vampires, particularly within Cheliax and Ustalav, as well as among the drow of the Darklands. They really like making things bleed.. kinda like them raptors we just kilt." Scratch hacks up some phlegm and sends it towards the bodies.

"So we're now in some crazy local vampire lovin' cult's territory... peachy."

Scratch takes it upon himself to creep closer to the stairs and peek, crossbow at the ready.

With the current way before you blocked the only viable routes are back near the entrance. Do you head west or north?

Once they get back in the main room Renthiel speaks up again, "Those are double doors. While this is an assumption, important things tend to be behind double doors. I think I'd prefer to head through the other door just to be sure that nothing in waiting comes at us when, or right after, we go through those double doors."

Bangy looks to see if the trap has reset, not wanting a repeat of that sloppy dino fight earlier...

Utek nods. "After you.". Mita hangs on his shoulder, bobbing up and down.

Bangy notices that now that a few minutes have passed the trap is indeed reset. The chains secured tightly within the walls. Bangy tries the door to the west and finds that it is a it sticky due to a massive amount of dried blood around the edges.

The trap is reset and the door will need a DC 20 Athletics check to open

“Don’t worry.” Urdda carefully makes her way to the door and gives it a good kick.

“I got this.”

Urdda kicks the door wide open. Dried blood coats the floor and lower walls in this room. Several animal carcasses hang from hooks in the wooden ceiling. A low table contains several tools for carving meat, and a large tub contains slabs of it. The room is thick with flies.

The biting flies cause a bit of a distraction. Those casting a spell will need a DC 3 Flat check.

Inside the room carving the meat are two dark skinned cultists as well as an emaciated figure that looks like a horned human skeleton smothered within a bone-tight hide of slimy leather. The flayed creature barks a quick order as it jabs a flaying knife into one of the slabs of meat.

Bangy's appetite flees his body, which, if he were in tune with it, he would have noticed he hasn't eaten in a spell, consumed still with feelings about biting his closest ally earlier, tendrils of mild panic creeping over as the smell of the slabs of meat restore that visceral memory to the forefront of his thoughts.

He freezes in inaction!

Scratch hustles into the opposite doorway and takes aim, ready to blast the first enemy he can see. Not gonna get myself skewered again this time. Not by no spears nor any danged traps! He releases the safety and hovers on the trigger.

After warning his friend, Bangy Piper nocks an arrow into his bow, and looks ready to enter the room with the others...

Torra (Yay, it's me!) moves behind Scratch and delves into her Fey connections, sending a spark of electricity at the two humans (green and pink).

Renthiel and Urdda rush in and take up positions to try and hold off the pair of cultists. Urdda's fists crack some ribs whileRenthiel's cane blade cuts the other.

Torra sends her own sparks into the pair. One of the men has smoke tendrils coming from his hair as it quickly stands on end. Scratch heads to the doorway and ends the man's life with a bolt through his lungs.

The remaining cultist tends to his wounds as he drives his spear back into Renthiel.

Bangy barely clips one of the cultists as the demon licks his lips seeing he small ysoki. The demon seems to recoil in visible pain as the cultist heals its injuries.

Sliding on the bloody floor the demon thrusts its longspear out at Bangy.
