Hey all. Atlas has expressed interest in joining this game. Since we are down to four PC's I don't mind adding a fifth. Is everyone okay with adding a new PC to the group? (It'll be easy enough to weave someone into the story as a companion to Telos.) Perhaps more importantly I also want to make sure there is interest in continuing the game and exploring further after you help Telos?

            Greetings!
Wow, it looks like Tareth has got an elite, I mean a real top-shelf, very posh, lineup here. Most of you I've admired only from afar, and those that I have thrown dice with it has not been overly much.
So tally frickin' ho!
I can only hope to live up to the work-product expectations of this august group. I'm trying something a bit different from what I usually roll with, but it has a lot of exciting potential, so Imma try it out and see how it goes.
Happy to be here and I can't wait to see what happens next!

Hey Beordt! Am I right in thinking that you are using the Kobold Press Bearfolk?
Are Bearfolk common in this setting? Like, would I know of your people? Or are they very rare so like Whoa! A Bearfolk!

Yep, we're in Midgard and Beordt is playing the KP bearfolk which are fairly well known and common in the north. However, we are in the Southlands. In the south, bearfolk are much less common but not completely unknown or unheard of because of the occasional Lodge of the Dancing Bear Guides that has set up in some of the major cities like Nuria, Per Bastet, Siwal, Saph-Saph, or Mardas Adamat.

Point of clarification: when you say they are in the trees, do you mean up high in a tree branch? Or just standing amongst them?
I think the Paladin is holding because he believes they are up high, yeah?

I heard up high and figured that it would be folly to climb up to them. What’s the point of sniping from trees if someone on the ground can thwack you?

            Well this is odd.
All of the data for this character was just overwritten with all the data for a different character of mine. I, um, I didn't do any of this.
It's gonna take me a bit to recreate this character. Do bear with me.

Hee. I know I forget about Bless all the time. ^_^
Hey, DM, this is an odd question but how big is the tree the third one is up? I'm just wondering how easy it would be to punch down. =D (What? Can you think of a better Crowning Moment of Awesome? =)

@Rilkus: I think you might have more options here.
The whole "climbing" thing is now just an Athletics roll. I don't have my book in front of me, but surely with a +6(!!) you could shimmy up there and give them a good shellacking! (Is that how you spell shellacking? I think there should be more l's and k's. Shelllackking?=)

True! By RAW Rilkus should be a very good climber. Which is very odd, but it is what it is. Given that he now has heroism, I think that I might just do that. Thanks for the idea.

Just to let you know I am in the processing of moving. And with the holidays coming up please BOT me if needed. I will try and keep up with my posts, but at this time my new place does not even have internet service and the soonest they can get there I am told is December 3rd.

Beordt looks shocked for a moment. But when the trollkin drops dead from the tree anyway. He let's out a whorring woop of a belly laugh.
Major Props if you can hit me with the perfect comeback.
There really is only one.

Hey all, it doesn't look like I'll get to a post today. Too much prep for tomorrow. Safe travels for those who are doing so, and I hope you all have a great holiday.
We'll pick back up with a next post over the weekend. You do have a choice to go ahead with the distraction or not since you may have discovered another way into the under ruins.

A spider made of ice and fear creeps down Gauis' spine and of a sudden his feet are rooted to the spot. "Oh by all things good and decent, I can not believe that those we seek are down this passage. Whatever--and I dare not say 'whoever' for the throat that makes those sounds is no cousin to the race of Men--makes that noise can not be the target of our search.
If those of you of stouter heart than mine have the fortitude to go down this path, I shall not stay thy hand. But so long as that noise haunts this tunnel I fear my path must needs be away and along the other, more silent, left-hand fork."
Need to make a point of saying that I really love this post. The dialogue just drips with flavor

            THANK YOU!
I really try hard to make good posts, and I try especially hard when there's not much to work with. I mean, what can you do when you fail a save? But, like, that's just it. When I fail a save I try to think about -why- I would fail that save and what the character would be thinking that would cause them to act like that. And then I just take off the leash and let the character guide me where he's willing to go.
And I really REALLY like it when people point that out. =} Sometimes I think I'll put down some rockin' stuff, but then if no one says anything or mentions it in any way I start to think 'whoa, I thought that was good but I must have missed something there. Have I lost my touch? Should I even be playing this character???' Heh. ^_^
I think something that helps is that I'm starting to get a sense of the archetype of the personality. Like, he's giving me a very 17th century English nobleman kind of vibe. The old pulp-fiction kind of stuff where you had the brave English redcoats forging their way into darkest Africa to face horrors undreamt of by polite society.
Oddly, I've been getting good inspiration from this thing. At a price of less than $2 bucks (and on sale it's some amount of cents I've probably just lost to the couch cushions) you get a good product, you get to expand your mind and your vocabulary and...you get to play as OH MY GOODNESS "Howard. Phillips.
Lovecraft."
Just hearing his hollow-echo voice suggest that someone's sister has tantalizing thoughts about tentacles is worth every penny. =]

So I was looking at Beordt's banner and it shows a level of exhaustion. I don't remember why or if it still applies. My hope is that its really old and at this point I wasn't accidentally a horrible cheater.
If it helps I played 7 levels of another campaign before I added the damage for Power Attack.

It should be cleared from the full night's rest on the boat coming upriver. I believe that was from when we were hacking our way through the jungle before we met up with the Minotaurs.
DM, can you confirm?

Introductions are made, including that of the quiet elf, Dacknar, who has the look of someone you'd more commonly spot on the deck of a ship sporting a Jolly Rodger rather than the deep depths of a jungle. The remainder of the evening is spent sharing a meal and whatever tales one might wish to share.
Hey guys, I see that we're hurtin' for certain. Mind you, I was under the impression that we all got a Long Rest when we met up.
Did everyone take that into account?
