The dinosaur ignores the flashing lights, as it seems pretty focused on the warm bodies (Aspis agents) still running forward and away from it. Soleil and Magmara's swings with their weapons offer little more distraction as well, before they jump off the road after Gaskar.

While the group has successfully gotten off the road, she won't be heading back into the woods peacefully any time soon. The tyrannosaur circles the clearing several times while the Aspis agents try several strategies of their own to shake her. While this is going on you all take your opportunity to get up and keep running towards the ravine exit.

It says "roll the obstacle check twice". The obstacle this section was the agents, who we could do a Handle Animal to Sic the Dino on, or an Attack to Beat on Them. Then it says we also have to succeed on an Acrobatics or Climb, in order to successfully get the fruit. That's how I was reading it, anyway...

Spell & AoE Templates | 4-10: Arclord's Abode

Yes, the two rolls are for the obstacle check. So, for example, from Ari-Ani's post I'd take the 2nd acrobatics roll and make it another attack roll (using the right bonuses). Thankfully, Meux's worse roll was a hair away from success, and Ari-Ani's worse attack roll is enough to aid it over the top. Separately, Gaskar successfully made the check to get the fruit, so you all are good to go :)

Gaskar clamors for the fruit, quickly climbing towards it and nabbing it while Meux covers him. The monk sends a firebolt that hits one of the agents, causing them all to pause and take defensive stances as they cautiously glare at Ari-Ani swinging her mace. You've effectively held them back from getting either the fruit or to the climbing handholds first, so the party begins to ascend first, with the rogue finally stowing her mace and scurrying up after the party. Just as you're ascending, you hear the vicious sounds of the dinosaur catching up and starting to tear into more of the Aspis agents. Most of you don't look back to see the source of the screams.

The pear begins to emit a soft yellow glow equivalent to the light of a candle for the next 8 hours. In addition, some of you may identify it.

Knowledge (nature) DC 18 to identify the properties of the pear:
If a creature eats the fruit as a full-round action, they gain the benefits of cure moderate wounds and neutralize poison (CL 7)

You may attempt this check, even though combat has broken out by the end of the post.

At the outskirts of the Krihirik village, grippli possessions lie scattered about as if they were dropped or tossed carelessly from the dwellings above. Where before gripplis hurried about the village, now none are to be found. Shouting from the direction of the elders’ hut carries through the empty jungle— “Find the others!”—followed by the loud crash of something falling to the jungle floor.

The treehouses loom above. 20 feet above to be precise. The thud was caused by a ladder being knocked to the floor. It can be set again with a Standard Action, though it only take a Move Action to knock it down again. You may also climb the trees with a DC 15 Climb check.

Initiative:

Gaskar: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Ki Chin: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

Soleil: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Talethia: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Meux: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Magmara: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Tiny: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

The team hears a low rumble from the other side of the nearby tree stump that quickly becomes evident as a panther's growl.

Spell & AoE Templates | 4-10: Arclord's Abode

Point of order: I'm going to try to roughly keep initiative order, not order of posting, and will take any ordering advantage that provides opportunities such as rogues flanking for sneak attack.

The Concordance

Ifrit Summoner 2; Perception -1; 15/15 HP; Fort +0, Ref +4, Will +2; AC 17, touch 14, FF 13 Melee: Elven Curve Blade +5, 1d10+3, +1 fire, Ranged: Ray of Frost/Acid Splash +5 vs touch 1d3

Soleil calls out "Bad kitty!" and at a nod from Magmara, she rushes one direction while her "sister" moves around form the other side to provide a flank.

Elven Curve Blade: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 2 = 81d10 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 1 point of damage is fire if that matters

Ancestor Eidolon 2; Perception +5; 14/14 HP; Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +3; AC 13 (17 w/mage armor), touch 11, FF 12 (16 w/mage armor) Melee: Lucerne Hammer +6, 1d12+4 OR Slams +5, 1d8+3

And from the other side, Magmara attacks with her lucerne hammer.

Masterwork Lucerne Hammer: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 2 = 161d12 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Soleil has to take such a wide arc that her coming strike is a bit telegraphed for the panther. However, with it's eyes trained on her, and still being flat-footed, it doesn't notice Magmara thrusting the long hammer at it from behind.

*Smash* *Kitty-yelp*

It's yelps quickly transition into fierce rumbles that don't leave you feeling comfortable with your proximity to the big cat.

Ari-Ani, Gaskar, Talethia, and Meux are still up!

Liberty's Edge

M.A. Gaskar | Male CG Medium Half-Orc Rogue (unchained/Skulking Slayer/Scout) 1 | HP 7/11 | AC 15, T 12, FF 12 | CMD 15| F +3 R +5 W +1 | Init +2 | Perc +4 | Speed 30ft |Sneak Attack +1d6 | Active Conditions: None

Gaskar, sensing the panther nearby, rushes forth. 'For the grippli!' He yells in his own head. With his flail, he'll smash down on the cat.

non-lethal, flail attack, flank: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 2 = 26
crit?: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 2 = 9

damage, non-lethal: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
crit damage?: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
sneak attack, non-lethal: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Spell & AoE Templates | 4-10: Arclord's Abode

BTW, for the non-lethal attack roll I assume you meant that adjustment to be a -4, not +4? It's no matter because 1. it was against it's flat-footed AC, and 2. natural 20 :)

Gaskar, taking advantage of having the panther surrounded, rushes forward and clonks it over the head with his mace.

Its eyes get a slightly dazed look, before rolling up into its head. It falls over unconscious (but neither dead nor dying).

BLUE down!

Ari-Ani, Talethia, and Meux are still up!

Gaskar has the Bludgeoner feat so can make non-lethal attacks with a lethal weapon without penalty!

Ah! Right. It's been since the beginning of part 1 since I reviewed his feats. Thank you!
