I guess I'm going to go with my bow. I'll write it in narrative form in gameplay.
Also, thinking about leveling and realizing that I haven't been appying this:
"Mystery Benefit: Your body is as much an astronomical one as it is physical. You gain resistance equal to 2 + half your level against all physical damage."
I think that means I have DR 3 against bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage (are there other physical damage types?). Does that sound right? If so, I will add it to my tagline.

Also, everyone, if you pick your armor or weapon to make your Relic, you can forgo selecting a gift to gain the respective +1 Potency Rune.

If I choose "Shadow Smith" as my gift
(Your relic pulls at nearby shadows, twisting them into the shape of a simple weapon or a simple tool or item, such as a rope or crowbar. It lasts until it is used for a single activity, until you use shadow smith again, or for 1 minute, whichever comes first, after which it dissipates.)
Could that make arrows? Wondering if a storyline thing could happen where she is playing around with it, seeing how it is changed, pulls back the string, and suddenly there is a shadow arrow there.
I mean, it isn't actually useful as an arrow unless you are out of ammo, because that means it takes an action to make an arrow, rather than pulling an arrow being part of the same action as shooting, but it seems cool, storywise, and then of course she could make other things out of shadow if they are needed.

Hmmm, I think I'll take the Healing Wave gift. Yeah, it's rather weak, but it is usable 24 times a day so that adds up.
Also, working on spell selections. I get 2nd level spells and am looking at calm emotions (bls), restoration, acid arrow (ss). I have no choice on calm emotions but resto and acid arrow are swapable. Is someone else going to have resto? If so then I will likely take something else for that one but I figure acid arrow will be a decent damaging spell for me and as my 2nd level signature spell will auto heighten when I want it to later on.
I also went with heal for my 1st level signature spell and am swapping chill spray for gust of wind.
@Elyana - What sort of item is becoming your Relic?

Using the curve blade since I had it in hand when this happened and since weapon damage will never be my main thing.

I look through the various gifts and I think I will take the Minor Shadow Gift of Obscure for my cloak, if that is doable. I like the idea of eventually wearing an almost living shadow.

Hmmm, thinking on it a blade for what I am taking makes little sense. I don't have it on my equipment list (I just never thought about it) but I am thinking I should carry some kind of "holy symbol" used by the Cult of the Green. That makes much more sense as a focus for such an ability. Do you mind if I add that to my equipment list?
@ Alric - That ability makes perfect sense for a cloak. Go with that.
@ Elyana - I pictured you having some mundane trinket of that sort on you, so yeah you can do that.

There, I added "Pendant of the Green" and gave it the artifact trait with the life spray minor gift. Have to figure out how to describe the pendant but I can worry about that a bit later.
My character shee should be done now and I think I have my stat lines updated correctly as well. Since no one else seems to have taken restoration my spells are set as well.
@ Elyana - Your Class DC looks off. It should be 19, not 9. I would also give the pendant the Relic Trait, it's technically not an artifact.......yet.

I did, I just got the terms swapped around. this is what I have noted down for it:
Pendant of the Green (relic lvl 1: healing wave) A pendant of round amber wrapped in living wood on a spidersilk cord.

Actually, the Relic Item level is the same as your level. So it's a level 3 Relic.

...well I completely misread that section! Alright, that actually changes the value significantly. I thought, for some reason, that they only went level 1-5. Life abilities aren't all that weak after all! WOOT!

I think you were confusing relic level with relic gifts. The gifts shows a table from 1-5 but above that it talks about relics like this:
"... For example, a relic might gain its first gift at 4th level after the bearer defeats a powerful foe. It might then gain its second at 7th, after they perform a special ritual. That same relic might not gain another gift until 13th level and then again at 16th as the player reaches other major milestones."

Hit Points go from 30 to 41.
General Feat: Gain a general feat. Cardren will take Ancestral Paragon which allows him to acquire Natural Skill and leads to becoming Trained in Survival and Medicine. He’s been paying attention to those who are Trained in those skills during the journey. (Which still seems like much to short a time span to become trained, but this is a game after all).
Incredible Movement +10-foot status bonus to your Speed whenever you’re not wearing armor. So that’s 40’ Speed.
Mystic Strikes: Your unarmed attacks become magical, allowing them to get past resistance to non-magical attacks. No bonuses to attack or damage.
Skill Increase: Gain a skill. Either Trained in a new Skill or Expert in one skill in which you’re already trained. Cardren becomes Expert in Athletics.
As for the item becoming a Relic, I need to think about it more. Probably adding a small book...or maybe a belt or sash (?) to his inventory.

I spent way too much time trying to decide which of Cardren’s items becomes a relic. I won’t go into all the details and arguments I made to myself, but I finally decided on Cardren’s water skin as the item, becoming gifted with Healing Wave. Is this an acceptable relic, GM?

Success: Half Damage or Effect
Fail: Full Damage or Effect
Crit Fail: Double Damage or Effect

And a crit would be failing or succeeding by more than 10? Or rolling a 1 or 20?
Technically, rolling a 1 or being -10 below the DC decreases your success by one step (Usually resulting in a Crit Fail). The opposite is true of rolling a 20 or being +10.
