Thanks! I will let you know if it turns sour, since I was in a 4 players table as a player during GenCon.

With the 4 player tables here we tend to shift a lot of aid tokens that way to help with extra damage and healing.

I'm thinking my table could use it for skill challenges cause we've got 5 melee/combat beatstick classes. I'm more terrified of how badly the enemies will be doing.

Unfortunately aid tokens are not often helpful in skill challenges.

Anyone have a line on Jeff Chapman/Quentin Tower? I've reached out via PM but no response as yet...

So a question came up on the Average reward from VIP Roundup.

It specifies gear or equipment purchased on Absalom Station.

Can you use this to buy a chronicle item? I haven't said no yet, but that is my inclination.

The specific item is from 1-31, a ghost killer liquidator disintegrator pistol. The fusion and the pistol are both from Armory. There is a limit 1 on the purchase. The character could not buy this without the chronicle since they are level 5 and the item is level 6.

So, can they use the discount from the boon?

Can PCs use the discount with the credits they receive from the Chronicle?

I.E., purchase items at the conclusion of the scenario?

I don't see why not. Unless the chronicle item says it can only be acquired through a different site... I look on these as the items being brought back to the SF society for study... and then once that study is completed they are flogged off to agents.

I would think they would be able to purchase an item from a chronicle. As seen in Dead Suns there are embassy's all over Absalom Station as well as the underground weaponry likely happening. Being commonplace on Eox I would think the Starfinder Society would also have a small stash by now.

The way I read it as long as it is purchased during the course of this adventure then it can be used. Beginning, middle, end shouldn't matter. It just can't be used on a later scenario.

Two things:

1. When can we get started with our other missions?

Has everyone finished their mustering missions yet?

2. Can I get a back-up GM for this Thursday and Friday?

I've gotten called back into the library for part-time in person work that will be away-from-keyboard -- serving as door greeter and counter of patrons in and out of the building. I'm going from 100% of my work time being glued to a keyboard to having a couple of days a week where I won't be near a keyboard at all.

Also... I am wondering if it would make sense under current circumstances if I shifted from main GM of the table to becoming a backup GM myself... I'm hoping that on Thursday I will have a better idea what my new schedule will be, but are any of the backup GMs interested in making this switch? It might be best to plan ahead and less disruptive for the table if I made the switch now.

Sounds like you have the backup for Thursday / Friday.

That is up to you Hmm? Is your workload going to allow you to keep up? If not I am certain one of the GM's whose table did not fill or one of the backup GM's would gladly take over.

I wouldn't want to deprive your table of them having Hmmm as their GM and getting a substitute ;)

Revvy, please join the thread I created and continue there. I'll request that the thread ownership get switched over, and I can rename it or make any other changes you wish. My party already knows that I have put in for a GM transfer.

I'm a good, dedicated GM. That means also knowing my limits. My bandwidth for GMing was pretty darn high (for me) during the pandemic. But specials are like three tables in workload and speed, and I don't want to slow my table down.

What do you do if most of the team doesn't have a non-lethal method of combat? Given who Yalus is, I could see him getting some weapons dropped in if they are willing to pay for them. Any other options?

It might not be your best option, but all unarmed strikes are non lethal of course they are also archaic..

But as GM Dennis mentions from the core rule book;
Nonlethal Damage With A Weapon That Deals Lethal Damage
You can use a weapon that deals lethal damage to deal nonlethal damage instead, but you take a –4 penalty to your attack roll.

And the reverse is also an option - deal lethal damage with a non-lethal weapon with a -4 penalty.

As Dennis and Revvy have said, I think that is your best bet. Take the -4 penalty.[/ooc]

Stalled the question by suggesting perhaps some of them could be human shields and asking for the diplomacy roll to convince Yulan they were the people he needed.

Looks like our table had a player drop (no post for a week, no reply on PM - assuming a busy period is catching him out), so we're down to five. No problem thus far, but keep those aid tokens rolling, folks!

Hello everyone! I'd like to request a backup GM from Sept 28 to Oct 2, if available. That's 5 days, from a Monday to a Friday.

If there isn't anyone available for all 5 days, then perhaps at least for Sept 28 and for Oct 2 as I'll be on a plane those two days and will have difficulty posting due to transiting.

Let me see if I can find another backup for you Nefreet. There were a few tables that didn't fire so I will see if one of them can do it. I would rather not have you GM the table you are playing at.

I could likely be a backup for that table -- though my schedule is still in flux. I am trying to get set up for a system where I do more partial days at work instead of fewer full days, which would allow me to help out.

Just had 2 players bomb all four checks to get past the receptionists in Covert Mission 5.

Would it be fair to allow them to do aid checks over comms with a penalty?

I want there to be consequences but I don't want them to feel totally left out (assuming the party continues with that mission and doesn't abort.)

Any rerolls from the intro missions (Media Boost)?
