Grandmaster TOZ |
I wonder what kind of monsters I'll encounter this time...
Imago Tor |
FYI, I will need a large treant icon for my character in addition to the elf.
Helgar |
^ My character Initiative may vary depending on his active buffs (Heightened Awareness and Four leaf Clover). I will adjust accordingly but I am assuming at least that he will have chewed down on a Blood Boiling Pill before the action starts and I have included that in his current modifier. :)
Grandmaster TOZ |
I'll add a buff tracker before we start so we can keep up on durations. I learned after our last Seeker session. :P
Tom, Dick or Harry |
^ You should listen to this man. He knows what he is talking about.
I can't speak in game to the rest of you but I am whispering constantly to my master. Have a fun game everyone.
Grandmaster TOZ |
House GM will be posting the opening text tomorrow night. I will do my best to have the scene setting and knowledge check spoilers posted as soon as I see it.
GM Dennis |
You've been selected to begin with an Aid Token! Please use and pass it quickly once the scenario begins.
Aid Token #2
Passing To: Grandmaster TOZ
Amestra Veen |
Imago she greets in Elven, but the disdain that she sees on his face...
My apologies for misgendering Imago. Once I caught it and tried to correct it, I kept getting the "You've backtracked too far" error.
Amestra Veen |
Yeah, I'm aware. Hence why it was in quotes, and the sentence ended with a smiley. As you point out, the party already knows everything. Sorry that I couldn't make it more clear that I was playing around.
Grandmaster TOZ |
We should be moving forward tonight. I will be on shift for the better part of the day but will try to get an update posted once we move to Part 2.
Grandmaster TOZ |
Before I forget again, Pathfinder aides also hand out resources and spellcasting to those of you that have participated in restoring the Sky Key and making this adventure possible. If you have any of these chronicles on your character, you gain benefits based on the table below, which are cumulative.
• Pathfinder Society Scenario #6–00: Legacy of the Stonelords
• Pathfinder Society Scenario #6–16: Scions of the Sky Key, Part 3: The Golden Guardian
• Pathfinder Society Scenario #6–19: Test of Tar Kuata
• Pathfinder Society Scenario#6–20: Returned to Sky
• Pathfinder Society Scenario #6–21: Tapestry’s Toil
5 Chronicles: A potion of haste (CL 10th)
3–4 Chronicles: The benefits of air walk for 30 minutes, starting at the beginning of Part 2
2 Chronicles: A potion of tongues (CL 5th)
1 Chronicles: An elixir that gives the imbiber the benefit of comprehend languages for 1 hour
This may change your use of resources for scaling the wall. :)
Daisley Dogmar |
Daisley has Returned to Sky.
Imago Tor |
My Sky Key bits are on another character.
Amestra Veen |
None of those on this character, either.
Grandmaster TOZ |
Garmit is welcome to place himself as he sees fit and move from there, within reason.
Imago Tor |
Until receiving more specific orders, Brethi's tactics are to move and attack or multiattack a threat. These look like threats.
Slam attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19
Damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (2, 5) + 9 = 16
Brethi deals double damage against objects, if that is relevant here.
Grandmaster TOZ |
As long as Brethi has full sentience she can act under her own instructions. Animal companions have to follow the last trick ordered for them.
Imago Tor |
Yes, Brethí has an intelligence of 3, so she can act independently and speak a language.
Garmit |
Sorry for the delay in posting. The mother-in-law got taken into hospital rather suddenly and the last 24 hours or so have been a bit unsettled at home as a result.
She's stabilising now (hopefully) and I'll get back up to speed with this game.
Daisley Dogmar |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Helgar looks on seeing that the combat will soon be over. He decides to preserve his resources for now. He looks at the martial characters being needlessly wounded when they could have simply hung back or attack at range and let the mindless statues attack the summons.
(Full Defense)
This is the second time Helgar has said something like this, and I don't know if you're just trying to make him in-character condescending, but it's going to get old fast. Those of us playing martial characters would like to play our martial characters, not sit around doing nothing while summons fight the battle.
Grandmaster TOZ |
If the intent was to show Helgar is an unlikable ass, that has been well displayed. Now would be a good time to have him remember the Cooperate part of the motto. We both remember the last time a divine caster tried to solo the encounter and how that could have turned out.
Mage of the Wyrmkin |
He actually did not say anything at all the second time. I can tone down his internal dialogue if you feel that it is offensive. As a player I have no issue with you rushing in to take your actions and not waiting for summons to finish the encounter. It is a game after all. Helgar can be a pompous ass at times.
We really should not be blending in-character and out-of-character conversations. If you have an issue with Helgar then bring it up in character and role-play it out or just ignore him. Your choice.
Grandmaster TOZ |
We have to address in-character actions out of character when they impact the enjoyment of other players. Helgar has made it clear that he thinks little of his martial companions and their tactical choices. No need to belabor the point further, to either the characters or the players.
Grandmaster TOZ |
It's going to be dead before it acts, don't know why you would worry.
Grandmaster TOZ |
Well, looks like I spoke too soon! That was it’s one shot, such a pity.
Amestra Veen |
Stop saying things like that. You're just jinxing it more! :)
Grandmaster TOZ |
You've been selected to begin with an Aid Token! Please use and pass it quickly once the scenario begins.
Aid Token #2
Passing To: Grandmaster TOZ
The Slave Revolt condition has upgraded the Aid Token as follows.
"In Subtier 10–11, the Aid Another bonus increases to +5 total, the Allied
Offensive option deals 4d8 points of damage, and the Burst of Healing heals 6d6 points of damage."
cmlobue |
We should probably use that in our next challenge, since we have been holding it all game. Think we're good with finding tablets, though.
Imago Tor |
May need to be botted today, depending on how fast combat goes. Brethí is simple enough - move to a threat and use multiattack, power attack slams (+13/+13/+8, 2d6+15, counts as magic). At this point, Imago will either pour buffs into the treant (or heal with stabilize and potions of ISW and IMW (2) as necessary) or ready to disrupt spellcasters - their only useful attack is the +1 seeking longbow (+10/+5, 1d8; point blank adds +1 to both). They have blunt, cold iron, silver and durable adamantine arrows and an oil of align weapon each for lawful and chaotic for for DR. They also have rapid and clustered shots if they go on the offense.
* 5th - blessing of the salamander, hungry earth
* 4th - greater aggressive thundercloud, ice storm, strong jaw
* 3rd - burning entanglement, communal resist energy, mad monkeys, spike growth
* 2nd - air step,
* 1st - aspect of the falcon, faerie fire, goodberry, heightened awareness, liberating command, longstrider
* 0th - create water, guidance, purify food and drink, stabilize
Mage of the Wyrmkin |
For some strange reason I have not been able to logon to my account since Tuesday night but now the system is letting me in now so I can post. I emailed customer service but received no response.
@Grandmaster TOZ - Was the burst healing token used after the cold tablet explosion administered as an immediate action or on the following turn? I am asking as my familiar has low hit points due to being a Figment familiar and he would have winked out returning tomorrow (or next adventure).
Grandmaster TOZ |
Aid Tokens are free actions to use and any character at the table can make the action. So it should have occurred before six seconds had passed.
Mage of the Wyrmkin |
@Grandmaster TOZ - Thanks. As the Aid Token can not be used as an immediate action that can interrupt the 47 points of damage taken my familiar dies (and will be reborn tomorrow with 1 hit point). Please reduce Helgar's place in the initiative to 11 in this combat as his initiative bonus drops to only +7.
Grandmaster TOZ |
Mostly it was thanks to init rolls working out in their favor. :)
These encounters also don't dictate starting positions, so it gives a lot of freedom to adjust difficulty.
Amestra Veen |
@GM: Odd question. If a swashbuckler confirms a crit, but it turns out that the target was a mirror image, does she regain panache?
The text says: "Each time the swashbuckler confirms a critical hit with a light or one-handed piercing melee weapon, she regains 1 panache point. Confirming a critical hit on a helpless or unaware creature or a creature that has fewer Hit Dice than half the swashbuckler’s character level doesn’t restore panache."
I'd wish it were so, but am inclined to believe not. Just want to confirm (pardon the pun).
