Hello everybody. Rayburn Giordano is here, with his wrist computer Ellen. Skill monkey and spells are his thing (though being Arcanamirium Sage kinda hurts on the magic hacks....).

I might switch to somebody who can be in the front line (or at least tank) if we don't get a 6th that does that. I do have lots of characters at 3-4 (operative, solarian (flare, but can front line), a mechanic with drone, etc).

Second-1, yeah we might be able to do that. I don't hold much faith in that though. So I will swap to Eleazar...who can well...tank if needed. He still is ranged mostly though (but has the HP/SP to take a little more than a technomancer).

Just FYI next week 31 August - 5th of September I will be at vacation practicing man trailing with my dogs. That might make my posting infrequent for the first 3 days. I hope to be able to post normally during that time period but time will tell

Sebrir is a human Envoy who constantly has a camera floating around him recording for his video feed, which is focused on the work of the Starfinders throughout the galaxy. He likes to say that he is just a journalist who doesn't meddle in the affairs of the Starfinders, but he will often be thrust into battle anyway.

I've posted the introduction phase and added a relevant slide to the deck (linked at the top and in my header). I've also added some slides about Aid Tokens, as we've been selected to start with one! You should either use or boost it in the first encounter, so we can pass it along.

Well, there goes that idea. The House GM just closed that mission. However, the Action mission in the same location is available, so we could jump there if you'd like (you get to meet the same NPC there).

My vote goes to either the newly available vehicle mission, or the remaining covert starship mission. Up for pretty much anything, though.

Second-1 is not a pilot. Gunner maybe, more likely to be trying shenanigans with spells while we drive ;)
Can I just pick the biggest gun? Does proficiency matter in this case?

Proficiency does matter, I'm afraid. You can also just shoot your own guns, though there is a penalty from the car to attacks from weapons not stabilized on turrets (-2 or -4 at full speed).
The two turrets on each car are in addition to the autodisabler that comes standard.
To be clear, there are two turrets on each car, so you can choose two weapons to mount per car.

The House GM says we're moving on to Part 3 soon, which includes a starship combat. Let's get starship roles settled before then, so we can launch right into it.

Helios has Piloting at +9, Computers at +11, Mysticism at +7 and Gunning at +5, so I can fill if we're lacking one of these.

Freeman gladly handles the captains seat to Sebrir. His other applicable skills are:
Computer +14, Engineering +14, Mysticism +huh?, Piloting +9, gunner would be...+5.
He's best at science or engineering but i'm happy to sit anywhere. :)

Well. by the numbers it looks like our best bet is:
Sebrir: Captain.
Helios: pilot.
Second1: Science.
Croaker: Gunner or Magic officer.
Freeman: Engineer.
Eleazar: Gunner.
That's just pure numbers. I'm always of the mind that if someone really wants a position, go for it. If the fur flies too bad, we can swap around.

I am fine with that separation. We can also be dynamic on where we are. Some positions do not have to be staffed the whole time.
