Personally I'm partial to the Drake, I feel fights have less potential to drag on for too long with it.

+1 for Drake. More guns allow for more PC's to shoot, still allowing them to fill other starship roles.

I suggest us installing mystical guidance on the turret (it allows to use wisdom + mysticism lvl for shooting, for Croaker it is +1 difference).

I don't mean for this section to be frustrating. I'm trying to walk a line between keeping us moving and not outright telling you the solution. I think I've given you enough information to figure it out, and you should give something a try; I may re-examine that stance, depending on what you do. We likely only have a day or two left in the special, so you should make one attempt at least.

Ok, I have no good idea what to try here.

I read the description of Mother Rat couple of times. A couple of ideas for offerings
- Nothing: 'and she teaches that those who have nothing should do whatever they can get away with or whatever it takes to survive, be it murder, sabotage, or theft'
- A secret: 'She keeps her eyes and ears always open, for an incautious moment or a careless word might reveal a secret that she can later turn to her advantage.'
- A lie: 'There will always be betrayal and lies; the key is to lie and betray before someone else does it to you.'
- Darkness: 'Originally a goddess of night, Lao Shu Po has turned her focus more to those who prowl under cover of darkness'

How to offer the things above I don't know. Darkness might mean turning off the lights in the room, secret or lie would be to tell something. We could also take offerings from other shrines but that would probably restore the forcefields in between.

In the end we could put the elf as an offering as a traitor/assassin etc ;) But Croaker has 7 HP and no stamina so he is careful to try anything.

I have played this before (and am in the process of getting ready to run it at AB-Confusion)....so I know what needs to be done...but I can't help more.

Eleazar isn't that religious (he worships the Black Butterfly a bit more than lip service). So his understanding of deities is not there.

And yeah, I think the GM has given enough to figure it out....

I am going to take the discount also.
Put it down for Ysoki Refractor Suit. Level 6 armor from basic. I ding level 5 at the end of this scenario, and that would be LVL+1 from Basic. Regular cost is 4120, so 3708 is the discount.

If we can't take that for the new level, I will take Freebooter Armor, II (original cost 4720, now 4248). It is level 6, but I have it on a chronicle sheet, so LVL+2 is allowed. But I would prefer the Ysoki...2 armor upgrades and the +7/+7 IMO is better than +6/+8 with 1 upgrade.

Sat down and looked last night, I have no major purchases planned right now. Not a good time to upgrade armor or weapons. Would hate to lose the 10%. maybe save a few credits on something like a Shock Grenade Mk 2? 650 credits With the 10% off would be 585?

I would also like to buy an item (as well as a +1 SkS), I will skim over my shopping list and edit this post in a few minutes with the desired item.

EDIT: Having a hard time deciding on a useful purchase... Helios just hit lvl 4, so lvl5 is fait game. Any suggestions? Been looking at Thermal Capacitors, Jetpack, Amber Hyperboloid Aeon Stone, but not too sure.

I feel like no one is ever sorry they bought a jetpack, personally. Thermal Capacitor is quite good too, since lots of things do fire damage.

Unless you are a front-line technomancer, I would think the thermal capacitors is only for the odd laser hit or explosive blast for the people who stay in the back. Jetpack is always a good one for people who need mobility to target spells and/or weapons. Falcon Boots are also something I have become a fan of, if you want one of your two magic items to be that.

Jetpack sounds great, thanks for the advice. So that's 3100 * 0.9 = 2790 creds. If you could also put a +1 SkS on there that'd be awesome :)

Good suggestions all. I think I might actually go for the thermal capacitors mark I. Didn't really happen this game but in Freeman's life he's been hit with fire or cold damage a LOT...

Yeah, I've had a fair few laser blasts and the dual resistance is nice. I had thought about the electric one that also hits melee attackers but this one ever so slightly won out.

Also, need another upgrade slot in the armor...too many excellent choices. The thermal capacitor is specifically for Second-1's upgrade slot

@Gm thanks for running this, I had a blast. I think it was my favorite special that I played (I played all SFS specials)! I found the encounters to not be rushed, and that we had time to delve into them. Rather than just going with a: make 8 rolls to pass this encounter. Great Job!
