Futin creates a link between himself and Alak, helping to heal some of the knight's wounds, while taking that pain on himself.
Talina tries to provide an advantage against her opponent, first by attempting to disarm the boggard, which is nearly successful, but only manages to weaken it's grip. Then takes a swing at it before attempting to kick the creature away, with no results.
Cicero hurls another magically-propelled projectile at the Boggard, but has a near miss. He follows this up with a hex of pain.
If I'm reading the ability right, he makes a Will save every time he potentially takes damage. This means that he'll take 0, 1, 2, or 4 damage each time, depending on how he rolls.
Flat check: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Just barely!
Just as the spots in his eyes are starting to fade, Villar manages to get in a solid hit on the boggard. (No longer Dazzled.)
One last creature, previously hiding in the shadows of the room, comes up behind Alak's current foe, croaks something unintelligible and ominous, and tosses a javelin at the knight.

Futin notices the effects that the sound seems to have had on the knight, as he starts to visibly shake, just before the javelin pierces his shoulder, drawing a cry from his mouth.
The boggard swings his club at Talina, sneaking in a back-handed attack at Villar, as well.

I'm currently working on the post, so I should have it up soon.
Blaydsong |
Talina hits the boggard so hard that it almost literally rings his bell.
Futin continues doing work by keeping his allies on their feet.
Villar takes advantage of the boggard's disoriented status stabbing it in right in the kidney.
(Botting.) Cicero sends another projectile at the boggard, hoping to end it quickly.

Villar Shadowsun |
Villar moved up to try and help take the last enemy down but ultimately found he simply couldn't get to him. Instead he stayed in the hallway in case something else attacked them.
Blaydsong |
Sorry for the extended wait, guys. Hope you all had a great holiday.
Talina spends a few moments to gather ammunition.
Futin helps Alak with his solo fight by keeping the knight on his feet.
Cicero fires another projectile, but the narrow confines of the hallway make it difficult.
Villar moves into a place where he can be on standby to help Alak when an opportunity presents itself.
The remaining boggard swings wildly at Alak, trying to connect a solid hit.

Slashing Damage: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
The two warriors trade blows, but Alak comes out the victor!
End combat!
Wiping the blood from his blade and the sweat from his brow, Alak turns back to Futin. "Thank you friend. If not for your skills in healing, I would have fallen long past." As it is, he looks as if he is about to fall over at any moment.
Futin |
Futin breathes a heavy sigh, then winces as his spiritual link takes its toll on me again. That's 2 more Hp to ALak and 2 from Futin.
No worries, buddy, you did great! If not for that sword of yours, we'd not be long for this world either! I think we may need to take a rest before moving on.
He looks around the area, then pings for magical auras. I wonder what brought this ambush down upon us...
Talina Vandotanos |
Despite the fight being over, Talina picked up a few bullet sized stones and placed them in one of her pouches. I'll have to get something in town when this is all over. She thought to herself.
Moving back to the stairs, and picking up the broken wooden shield as she did, the warrioress pulled out a small kit and began mending the the shield as best she could.
Crafting (Repair): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 vs DC set by GM
This is a 10 minute action. So Futin should be able to use Medicine on one of us.
Cicero Aldoran |
"It seems to track that they could have heard us up above and been ready. after all, they had 3 days to prepare." Cicero will say to Futin as he returns to the hallway
"Where to next, further down the hall or into the alcoves first?"
Villar Shadowsun |
Villar's sight finally became clear again right after the fight was over and he groaned slightly from his injuries. Still, he was in good enough shape to press on if they were cautious. "I think these passages to the sides first. I don't want anything ambushing us from them this time."
Talina Vandotanos |
Finishing re-strapping shield and patching up some of the dings, Talina stood and said, "I agree with Villar, let's make sure there's nothing ready to come up from behind us."
Villar Shadowsun |

Cicero Aldoran |
Fine with me as well.
as the group is moving towards the door Cicero realizes the sorry state of both Talina and Villar, he looks over at Futin
I figure I'll give futin another day to step in because he should have another lay on hands after Talina repaired her shield but if nothing comes up then
and then calls upon his patron once more to heal them

Cicero Aldoran |
Oh sure, thanks for pointing that out, I'd say we can hold off for a few days if others are okay with it!
Futin |
Sorry guys, back now!
Futin lays his hands on Villar after Talina does her work on the shield, and the power of his celestial patron channels through his hands.
6 HP back! I'm not sure how long we're taking, but I think Futin can treat wounds even after trying battle medicine - let me know if I'm wrong on that.

Futin takes some time to patch up the team before they head into the first of the branching hallways.
Cicero Religion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
While Futin goes about his work, Cicero takes note of some kind of insignia emblazoned on the armors of all the bodies nearby; the symbol of a smoking dragon's claw (See the Slides link above). He recalls that this symbol is a rarely used one that is sometimes associated with the cult of Dahak, the god of evil dragons. His more well-known symbol is that of a falling burning scale, but this symbol is one used by those of his worshipers who focus more his aspect as a god of destruction than of evil dragons or greed.
Checking the first hallway, Villar immediately notices that the door was left open by cultists in a hurry to enter combat.
In the room, a broken bed frame, splintered drawers, and a smashed desk mark this chamber as a long-abandoned bedroom. Greasy tents and moldy piles of cloth reveal that someone has recently been squatting here.
Cicero Aldoran |
Cicero will say "It seems the cultists down here follow Dahak, he's the god of Evil dragons but from the symbol they use it seems likely that they revere him more as a god of destruction" he then ventures towards the desk to see if there are any paper scraps that made it out of the destruction in serviceable enough shape to read.
Villar Shadowsun |
I think just the 6 back for me is acceptable for now. That puts me at 3/4 health.
Villar nodded his thanks to Futin for the assistance and then moved into the room ahead cautiously. He began to look around for anything of interest before examining the door to the east for traps and to see if it was locked.
Futin |
Futin nods back, taking the visual cues of the more heroic types of the group to try and look like a professional. He follows Villar in and begins looking around the room as well.
Search: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Talina Vandotanos |
Talina looks around for a serviceable metal shield. The wooden one was good in a pinch, but one more hit like the last one could completely destroy it.
Blaydsong |
The room is fairly bare. Any of the old furniture is all but completely destroyed. The group can't seem to find anything noteworthy in here. Unfortunately for Talina, none of these cultists seemed to have any shields.
If you want a list of the equipment from the bodies, let me know. Otherwise, it's all fairly common equipment.
Blaydsong |
Villar nodded his thanks to Futin for the assistance and then moved into the room ahead cautiously. He began to look around for anything of interest before examining the door to the east for traps and to see if it was locked.
Apologies, Villar. I somehow missed this. Next time just smack me upside the head. ;)
After verifying that the room is fairly unremarkable, Villar checks the eastern door, finding no traps.
Villar Shadowsun |
Hehe, it happens, obviously I just got around to checking so your good. Is it locked and is there a way to lock it if not? If so lock it and go to southwest room, if not carefully open it and check for enemies inside.
Talina Vandotanos |
Sorry for my lack of posting, life intervened.
As Villar checked the door, Talina moved to one side of it, ready to move into the next room if needed.
Blaydsong |
Sorry. The weekend got away from me and I got a nice case of sleep deprivation. :(
Villar notes that the door is not locked, and there doesn't seem to be any built-in locking mechanism available.
Opening it up, reveals a small hallway or alcove, with another door directly across.
Taking the same precautions and finding no lock or trap, he opens up the next door onto what looks like the remains of an antechamber. Once-fine seating made from mahogany and velvet has been broken to pieces and used to fashion crude shelters. To the north, a door is heavily barricaded with debris.
Futin |
I can't seem to move my token on Roll20
Hearing that there are shelters up ahead, Futin looks at Alak and silently cautions him, then goes through the hand motions from the bugbear fight. The guys was like...hah! He swings. Then Talina was like, No you don't! He mimes blocking with a shield.
Villar Shadowsun |
Villar looked back at the others and said, "We have a hallway to the left and right and a door straight across. Do we go back tot eh southeast or clear this section first. We can't leave a completely clear area behind us."
Talina Vandotanos |
Talina looked at the barricade, "What were they trying to keep out?"
Futin |
Well, I'm pretty sure we don't wanna' go through that door. Futin looks at the northern door with the barricade. How about we cut across to that other door?
Talina Vandotanos |
Moving off to one side of the other door, Talina made a head gesture to have a look at the door.
Blaydsong |
Alak: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
The group decides to continue on through the room to the opposite door. After a brief inspection, Villar finds no traps, and the door is unlocked. Opening the door reveals (Surprise!) another door. Villar goes through the same procedure again, opening the door into some kind of lounge.
Pieces of furniture are still intact here, although hanging from the ceiling's rafters in the center of the room is a strange structure made from ripped and knotted curtains.
Meanwhile, Alak curiously moves towards the door to the north, looking at it thoughtfully before placing his ear against it. After a few moments, he pulls away and walks back to the others. "Whatever is on the other side of that door, it doesn't sound very happy," he mentions casually.
Let me know what you want to do. Hopefully Cicero will join us soon.
