I am grateful for the healing you have given Boaz, Purpurrup. That wand of yours may be pretty old. Its healing properties seemed to not be very strong.
You look much better, Boaz. I am sorry my blade did not slay that beast quickly enough. I fear I had a bit of bad luck.
Facing Boaz, he grips the half-orc's shoulder to show sincerity.
------------------------------
Sobek dries himself off and dons his gear, shaking off any sand in his clothing and brushing off the blade and shaft of his guisarme.
That was quite refreshing going for a swim. Hard work, though, pulling this to shore.
After removing the lid with the others and
gaping in awe at the opals, Sobek helps the others shift the idol into position with directions from Akmon.
I am pleased that we have done what Akmon wished for. From the visions, I suspect some of his people turned towards evil. I even witnessed an evil cyclops seal up this idol and throw it in this lake. Unfortunately for Akmon, he did not wish for his society to turn towards blasphemy. We are his only hope to turn the wrongs of his past to right. He bows his head in sadness, and silence, for a moment.
Those gems are marvelous. Most likely worth a fortune as well. Keep them safe, Nightkit.
Now we must find this tomb of the being that was part cyclops and part ape, then perform a prayer to consecrate it. There is also a chamber below that we must clean to appease Akmon.
He turns to Purpurrup.
Have you seen such a tomb near here with a statue or effigy of a one-eyed ape?
Llyrr
|
Boaz I think Purpurrup used an extra charge when you were 2 down so you should be at full
"better but still not right make necklace from teeth until then" one last wand charge to heal Boaz back to full (7 charges used)
GM Jeff cook
|
Yes Llyrr has it right Boaz I didnt bother rolling the last wand use when the minimum result would see you fully healed
You follow the trail towards the main building of the temple. It looks imposing reaching about 40 feet from the ground but there are cracks in the edifice (meaning you will have some light inside). You are just short of the main entrance when Porpurrup pulls up. B Boaz can I have one of Mutuwhaks teeth please the grippli stammers and is looking decidely nervous
The yellow area is the module map for this section but I thought I'd give you some opportunity to work out how you enter and give you some atmosphere of how sight and Purpurrup are approaching this area
Boaz Kostaz
|
Thanks! Didn't see that last cure.
Boaz stares at the imposing temple. Wow. is all he can mutter. When Purpurrup asks for a Mutuwhaks tooth, Boaz will hand the grippli one. "Take good care of it. Are you going to come in the temple with us?"
He then turns to his companions. "Is the cyclops here? What is he telling you?"
GM Jeff cook
|
Purpurrup takes the tooth mutters some words in Grippli and places it in a pouch round her neck. Yes I am coming or my tribes work is undone. It is just the fiends presence in this place gives me the shivvers. I have been here once before with my master and downstairs all the colour drains out of the place The grippli appears nervous bet determined
Yes that's how we spell colour in England
Boaz Kostaz
|
knowledge (nature): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Perhaps the lack of colo(u)r means these gripplis have darkvision and it may be dark downstairs.
Boaz will turn to his new friend. I'm glad you are joining us. We'll make sure nothing happens to you.
Serellig Vrast
|
"He's not really saying anything," Serellig responds, "but we can see the past. Another Cyclops with a bag full of something that's moving is walking the same path we just took."
Then he adds to Purpurrup, "You'd best stay by me, friend. We're more valuable in a ranged support role than right up front," he says, trying to give the Grippli a chance to feel more secure without feeling like the group thinks she's hiding behind them.
Nightkit
|
Nightkit had by now, slipped her armour ((note the 'u')) back on and she had been conversing with Serellig, trying to keep him at ease around her. Now they're approaching the temple she started getting all serious and slips to the front in order to sneak and peek. She also frowns at the mention of darkness and that a cyclops carrying a sack full of something wriggling.
Why do I get the feeling it's not cats but baby cyclopses .. cyclopi? she mutters to herself.
She stealths her way through the underbrush and peeks into the entrance.

Seeing the lovely rogue snlip into the underbrush and go full stealth mode, Serellig simply goes into protector mode and looks for enemies who might threaten her and gets ready to see how they like Gozreh's elemental destruction.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Well, at least he's showing that he cares even if he's bad at finding any threats.
GM Jeff cook

Nightkit sees an enormous room which is little more than bare stone. Purpurrup has told you two doors lead from this chamber—one to the east descending down a wide stair and one to the south shut. A broad stone table, still discolored from ancient bloodstains, sits in the middle of the room with stone chairs laying about it in disarray.
There are four halflings messing about in the chamber looking for loot with two on top of the table lording it over the other two particularly the blue necklaced one who has claw like hands. The others have axes and shields on their backs and wear different coloured necklaces. All have bows with bluey's looking to match his height
Nightkit also spots some kind of cubby hole that the halflings seem to have missed under the table
Sobek Al Saleef
|
I wrote this earlier, but GM Jeff posted while I was out walking my dog.
Before entering the huge temple...
I have never seen a temple made for giants. This place truly is majestic.
---------------------------------
Yes, Sellerig. I see it as well. Sobek says with a disturbed look on his swollen, one-eyed face.
The visions are somewhat frightening.
Being a veteran warrior, he ignores the frightful images and continues on.
Should we set up an order at which we will travel through the halls and rooms? With my polearm, I can either take the front or second rank. Purpurrup, have no fear. You will be safe with us.
Serellig Vrast
|
"Desecrating a temple? Despicable! I believe this would be a time to rain down Gozreh's destruction upon them," Serellig says, an electric spark tingling from one hand as a whispy cloud of cold comes from the other.
Llyrr
|
”Maybe start with talking and let it devolve into combat.” Llyrr says as he starts moving in ”everyone ready?” he asks
Sobek Al Saleef
|
Sobek's face turns red with anger.
I was a protector of tombs in my own country and I will not allow anyone to despoil a tomb or place of worship in another country. Those halflings are savages and need to be taught a lesson with the edge of my blade.
Nightkit
|
Kit nods and agrees. Did Purpurrup say they were savages anyway?. But yeah ... I'll back you guys up.
Serellig Vrast
|
"Well, talking type or no, I'm fairly certain we can get our point across. Llyrr, if you really want to lead the way and try being diplomatic, the rest of us can simply follow you as the show of force and handle things when, I mean, if talking doesn't work. Sound like a plan?"
The Gozren cleric then turns to the Grippli and says, "Here, since yours is out of charges, I'll let you borrow mine for the moment," and hands her his wand of cure light wounds.
In marching order, which I believe we're rapidly approaching, Serellig would like to stay near the middle or back, but just a step to the side to have a clear shot.
Llyrr
|
"Agreed, I don't expect to be able to do this diplomatically but I think we still need to give them the chance" Llyrr will say as he takes the front and starts moving.
Serellig Vrast
|
Purpurrup holds up his own wand "No still has magic in it Just Boaz had no further need
first read my post and added the 7 charges used to try indicate it had charges left rather than wand expended
Well, in that case, Serellig keeps his wand, and instead, tells Purpurrup that she can use his wand if hers runs out of charges.

Ok moved you into a rough formation that I think suits your plan Llyrr at the front with Sobek and Boaz right behind leaving Akter and nightkit free sightlines as archers with Serellig and Purpurrup at the rear
You see an enormous room which is little more than bare stone. Purpurrup has told you two doors lead from this chamber—one to the east descending down a wide stair and one to the south shut. A broad stone table, still discolored from ancient bloodstains, sits in the middle of the room with stone chairs laying about it in disarray.

Nightkit gets her feet tunder the table and out the other side. Boaz moves up and not quite believing what he's seeing slashes wide with his axe.
