A stone casket? Cyclops-sized? How are we to get it out the bottom of the lake? - interjects Akter, rhetorically - Well, I guess we will have to find out. Unfortunately I don't have such magic, but maybe we could find merchants in the nearby towns if none of us do.

![]() |

I don't, but I'm used to being in water - it's part of my .... erm .... schtick. I'm quite willing to free dive and at least find the thing.
She's already removing unessential equipment in preparation in going for a dip.

![]() |

"Well, this might help," Serellig says, slinging his pack around and pulling out a coiled rope. "Some of us can stay on shore to stand watch against predators on land while the group going in the water searches and then you can bind this around the coffin when you find it and give three sharp tugs. That will be our signal to pull and we can make moving the thing a full group effort. Would that work? Never really done this sort of thing before, but it works out alright in my head."
He then looks up as the Cyclops and says, "Any other suggestions on how to pull it out of the drink or what dangers to expect, friend?"

![]() |

Good idea Serellig Nightkit smiles Works out in my head as well. Add my rope to the length too. I'll tie one end around my waist as a safety line.
She starts to remove her leathers then hesitates.
If anyone has a spare Mage Armour, I'd really appreciate it

"Finaly!" says the cleric divine wizard, happy to have a target for his blasts.
Serellig steps to the side to poke out around Boaz 5 foot step and touches his holy symbol with his left hand as his right hand extends towards the beast and he lets out a cry of, "Primus electi!" and a bolt of lightning streaks from his hand and towards the beast.

See maps and Purrpurrup in my char header. I have now added it to campaign info as well but I prefer it when GMs put it in their header as I dont have to keep scrolling to the top of the page to find the map link

As the group is discussing ways to get the idol out of the lake, Sobek's bulging eye widens in startlement as a crocodile lurches from the water and attacks Boaz.
Sobek points at the beast and shouts,
A Sobeq! My given name! Careful! Very dangerous!
He swings his polearm around and over his head as he moves towards the beast being careful to not slip on the pebbles of the lake's shore. He brings the weapon down on the crocodile's head in a swift chop.

Did you include my +2 initiative for Sight of the Cyclops?
Wow! I can't believe I got the description from the grippli's hand signs right! I did play this scenario long ago but don't remember anything. I was expecting a more exotic creature like an outsider or something. And I forgot I named my PC after the Ancient Egyptian god & word for crocodile.

You guys aren't rolling well! Since Boaz is a half-orc, he has Orc Ferocity. Can he activate it to attempt to escape the grapple and/or fight the MutuWhak?

Llyrr will begin dancing as a standard action with a flowing step and some minor flair then a moment later a sudden Cartwheel. which leads us to his move action around the croc provoking an AoO but getting into flank with Kit.

if I’m not mistaken the crocodile still has an AoO on me. If you don’t wanna take it though be my guest.

![]() |

At the time Llyrr moved the croc was trying to keep Boaz in its mouth However to get where Llyrr is will require a double move and an athletics/swim check dc 10 with the same to stay afloat each subsequent round you stay in the water. So I believe no bardic performance this round
Edit retcon below is fine

I’ll Ret con that then if that’s okay. Forgot about the water.

![]() |

Nightkit Sobek and Llyr combine to finish off the beast and there is a momemnts stillness as Purpurrup tries to coax the magic from his wand again
clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
His skin is green it should be working better than this the grippli mutters
clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
The extra charge brings Boaz to consciousness
Combat over Boaz is awake on zero hp. The chest needs its lid removing and the idol taking out which are a couple of strength checks. With a dead crocodile you do not see anything else disturbing your attempts

![]() |

Boaz climbs out of the mouth of the beast. He looks up at his companions. "Thank you for saving me from almost becoming lunch for the crocodile. I could see Gozreh calling my name."
I was at -9 of -12. Very close to death!
He'll sit on the bank of the river. "I'm not sure I can go swimming right now. I hope you understand."

![]() |

"Of course." Llyrr will say to Boaz then turning to Purpurrup he will ask "Any idea how much magic is left in that wand, can we spare a bit more for Boaz here? If not I can heal him as well"
I figure we should see if we can avoid using spell slots if possible.

![]() |

That's okay Nightkit replies, in the process of removing her armour to reveal a black two piece outfit underneath The water's clear enough. You just rest
She swims down to get it, looking rather at home in the water.

![]() |

Sobek removes his breastplate and gear down to just a loincloth.
I'll help open the lid while we're underwater. We need to bring that idol to the surface and let the sun shine upon it. Ready? Let's go.
strength check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

![]() |

The grippli turn to Llyrr "Not so many now" He looks at the wand then at Llyrr "We take turns?" and touches Boaz with the wand again
clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Then again outsider wands may work better on outsiders than grippli ones
Nightkit surveys the stone chest and as Akter surmised it is indeed heavy Getting to the casket is a dc 10 swim check (you can take ten so long as you dont have penalties to your swim check)
The casket weighs 1,000 pounds, requiring a combined maximum load of 200 pounds between all PCs attempting to push the lid in order to reveal the idol within (a character with a Strength score of 15 or higher can do
this unaided).

![]() |

Serellig starts moving in the direction of Boaz saying, "I'm so sorry I wasn't more help to you my bro..." and he watches NightKit strip down to her two piece and seems to lose all memory that he was speaking.
Finally, he seems to shake himself out of it and continues towards Boaz saying, "I can also help with healing. Gozreh has blessed me with such powers and the Society has blessed with with a healing stick," and he pulls out a wand of cure light wounds.
Cure Light Wounds Wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
"Gozreh's blessing, my brother," he says as he gives Boaz magical healing.

![]() |

Wow, low rolls on the CLW wands!
Boaz starts feeling a bit rejuvenated from the healing of the grippli and the fellow Gozreh worshipper. "I will tell great stories of the magnificent grippli Purpurrup and his companion Chirps. Without you, I would be dead. Thank you.". He'll go in and give the grippli a bear hug.
Turning towards the lid of the casket, "let's see if I can do this.". Boaz braces his feet and pushes with all his might. Boaz has 18 Strength

![]() |

The grippli recovers from the bear hug and then dashes to the crocodile corpse and smashes some teeth free she takes the teeth and hands them to Boaz. You must hold MutuWhaks teeth if you want proper healing from his wounds She then applies her wand again clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
"better but still not right make necklace from teeth until then" one last wand charge to heal Boaz back to full (7 charges used)
Between them Sobek and Nightkit manage to open the chest and drag the idol to the bank where Boaz can help them get it out of the lake. Nightkit manages to pockets a few opals that were stuck in the bottom of the chest
Sobek and Serellig (and Akter if he so chooses) are directed by Akmon in how the idol should be positioned

![]() |

Nightkit notices Serellig watching and makes a little show of taking off her armour.
She then easily swims down ((taking 10 for 14)). She also has a quick look around that area in case the cyclops threw in anything else interesting, staying underwater almost to the limit of her breath holding capability (10 CON + Endurance feat)
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
After surfacing, she'll wait until she dries off before putting her gear back on, but she does attempt to assist Sobek in getting the lid off. She will also thank him for his assistance.
str: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (7) + 0 = 7
She does not attempt to hide the loose opals from the others saying Should we stick these back on?
After contemplating the dead crocodile she wonders if the skin could be used to make some garments.

![]() |

Serellig is pleased to have his Gozrehn brother on his feet and doing well again, but has to turn his attention towards the task at hand...and not toward the scantily clad, wet rogue.
As he's trying to focus on the idol, suddenly the lovely rogue appears with some opals asking if they should be reattached.
"You were magnificent in the water," he says, giving her eye contact as he does so despite his desire to look elsewhere. Then he adds, "Not sure about the opals," and he turns, looking up to Akmon and saying, "should we try to put the opals back on, or is it fine as is?"

![]() |

With the mini cyclops figure set facing east with an Opaline eye looking at the sunrise the pathfinders are ready to move on
Unlike the gm who needs some sleep. Intro post to the inside bit tomorrow

![]() |

Serellig turns to NightKit and says, "He says we can keep them as a reward." At that point he reaches out to her hand which is holding the opals and moves to close her fingers around them saying, "Why don't you hang on to them for safekeeping." He blushes lightly as his hand touches hers, but then removes it and walks over to check on Boaz.
"Are you alright now, my brother? Wounds all healed up?"

![]() |

I guess that makes sense. I didn't want to offend the cyclops you guys are talking to because of greed. Besides, I've heard about curses that happen to people by stealing gems from idols. Plus .. well ... keeping them for myself would be like stealing from my party members and I'm not that sort of rogue - that's just ... wrong.
She pops the opals safely in a belt pouch while grinning at Serellig.
I guess I should have warned you I work in one of those high end 'pleasure palaces' as an dancer - including aquatic dance - and no .. I don't sleep with the clientel - unless I want to, which happens rarely. Hope you liked the show - couldn't resist and I apologise if I overdid it. Plus I gotta lot of respect for Gozreh - dated an aquatic druid of Gozreh for a bit
She then follows Serellig to also check on Boaz. Yeah .. you doing okay?

![]() |

Boaz thanks his companions for their worry. "I'm doing okay. A few scratches and bruises still." (At 10/12 HP). "This Pathfinder stuff is harder than it sounds."
"Did you have a vision of your cyclops friend again? What do we do now?"
