Makras Vekker |
"When the blood-urge strikes, friend and foe alike will serve!"
Casting murderous command on Helkit--DC 12 Will save or she attacks her nearest ally for 1 round.
GM Doom 'n Gloom |
Sorry Sadaf. I accidentally bolded you. The slayers go before you. I will let you keep these rolls if you like when your turn comes up.
Torku |
Torku grumbles and taps his blade on the ground. Remember the weight of the centuries you carry, he thinks, and the blade glimmers in response.
Casting lead blades on Torku's rapier.
GM Doom 'n Gloom |
Makras words splash over Helkit like water on a rock. Doran seems to have more success as his arrow finds its mark. Meanwhile, Torku once again takes advantage of the time given to prepare himself for the inevitable melee.
The slayers continue to move forward, attempting to find cover from the aasimar's arrows.

Due to the fact that there are hidden pits, please mark the path of your intended movement with an arrow. I will resolve any rolls should you stumble upon some...Shifting Sands.
As a Standard action you may attempt to spot a 'shifting sand' hazard within 20' of you. This requires a successful DC 20 Perception or Survival check.

Sadaf further demonstrates his mastery over the elements, pelting the gladiators in a flurry of ice. The three remaining 'Slayers' are overwhelmed and fall in a head near the pillar they sought for shelter. From behind,
This elicits a huge cheer from the crowd!
"Did you see that?"
"What's the dwarf's name again? He's one to watch."
"How did he train the fire to follow Helkit? I bet you ten silver its an elemental!"
"Earth followed by Fire and then Water. What's he gonna do with 'Air'?"

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Makras is 100% convinced the cheering and hurrahs for "the dwarf" refer to him.
Lady Vulpina |
Vulpina chuckles as she lets her pistol fall from her fingertips; another is in her hands quite shortly.
This one has a glow to it.
”Helkit! So pleased you could join us! May I have this dance?”
KRAK!!

As the smoke clears, the grin on Vulpina’s face becomes clear.
She’ll use Dodging Panache to back up, if Helkit decides to retaliate!
Melea Shemroe |
Melea steps forward to shoot, further augmenting her bow. "Remember, you are entitled to surrender at any time," she calls over> She doesn't bother to keep any audience members close by out of the loop.

GM Doom 'n Gloom |
Vulpina shot slams into the gladiator's chest. She staggers back a step. Her breathing is clearly ragged. "Fine...I concede to yo-." Melea's arrow is already in flight. It plants itself in Helkit's eye. Her head snaps back from the impact and her ax tumbles from her fingers. All her men are down, and the Pathfinders show nary a scratch.
The crowd is momentarily stunned. You are certain no one in the audience expected this outcome. Then they erupt in thunderous applause. Unfortunately, with no one to hold him in check, Brimstone in unaware the battle is over. He charges Vulpina!
The picaroon deftly twists aside at the last moment, dodging the deadly jaws.

Lady Vulpina |
As she nimbly lunges aside, she drops her pistol and waves to the cheering crowd with a grin, barely even looking at the snarling beast. She’s looking pretty darn pleased with herself.
Sadaf Kargar |
Sadaf drops a ball of fire on Brimstone!

Sadaf starts casting a summoning spell.
GM Doom 'n Gloom |
Sadaf, just to clarify, you are attacking Helkit and not Brimestone, correct?
Torku |
Torku just walks up out of the canine’s reach. ”Just leave it. Or maybe Sadaf wants another pet.”
Sadaf Kargar |
Sadaf raises an eyebrow.
”I would never betray my Danduun!!“
Melea Shemroe |
Without wasting time on gloats or congratulations, Melea tries to stabilize Helkit before her good aim bears bad news.
Once I'm up in initiative, that is.
GM Doom 'n Gloom |
Animal handlers race out and wrangle the pony-sized beast. It takes a few moments, but they manage to get it under control. Melea and Doran manage to stabilize the retired gladiator.
Out of Combat
After spending minutes enjoying the adulation of the crowd, the team is escorted off the arena floor.
Later that evening, you find yourselves reconvened at Smine's. "Well, you sure did a number on them Slayers!" He points a finger at Sadaf, "You are a one dwarf wrecking crew. Still, all of you acquitted yourselves pretty darn well. And I'm not the only one who thinks so. Gotta note a few minutes ago. Seems one Ms. Helkit Silverbane was impressed with yer abilities, and yer sense of honor." Smine unfolds the crumpled missive. "She grew up in that place. The fact that you didn't kill her seemed ta prove somethin' to her. Along with the note, eight or ten crates were delivered as well. Each one marked with the Silverbane seal. When I popped 'em open, guess what I found. Yep, most of everything she 'liberated' from all the raids on Society ships. Looks like we'll be able to get them soldiers in Mendev a whole slew of supplies."
"You agents did real well. The whole region has been put on notice. River Kingdom pirates is sure to keep clear of our supply runs now. And its all thanks to you."
Keeping Helkit alive opened up a boon on the chronicle sheet. Nice Work!
Sadaf Kargar |
Sadaf blushes and shrugs.
"That is actually the first time I am doing anything significant in combat. Lucky I suppose."
Doran Therinor |
I'm sure luck had nothing to do with it, Sadaf. Opportune timing perhaps. But shine you did...how about a drink or ten at the tavern? I'll get the first round or two. It is good to see the needed supplies getting to the front. I think we have seen the last raid on the boats from Helkit.
Makras Vekker |
Makras scowls. "Jubilation is folly. Success today will be followed by an excruciatingly painful death tomorrow, followed by an eternity of nothingness." He looks at Doran. "But I wouldn't mind an ale."
Lady Vulpina |
”You will pay for the first round or two and I will pay for each of Sadaf’s ales afterward,” grins Vulpina, quite pleased with the group’s overall success.
She turns to Makras. ”Why, is not death just as meaningless? If it is all empty, one may as well face the endless deadly possibilities with a laugh and a drink, no?”
To anyone else with Makras’s nihilism, she might have made a jest about how clothing was equally pointless, but she knows the dwarf well enough to fear making too good a point.
